Those axis are still cool, from bauchi to darazo, you can still run 240 km/hr... Even from Kano to jigawa, down to yobe....

A death sentence bro. Yes the road is good but you just gotta put into consideration the single carriageway and em crazy hausa drivers trying to drag road with you

[s]My experience was when I went for a neighbor burial 2016, the man was a military man. I joined their escort hilux when returning, shit was new... They had siren blazing and we were literally flyinggrin

I repented in the car and I prayed the Lord to take my soul to heaven if it happens.

I was at the front sit and speedometer was constantly at the extreme end of RED for almost 80% time of the journey. We were doing 280 or more if I'm not mistaken.

There was a fuel pipe we changed 3 times, speed blown that pipe 3 time and how that vehicle didn't caught up on flame till date is a miracle to me.

That was the day I knew truly army are trained to either kill or die.

With siren all vehicles were giving ways, this contributed to the speed madness. As a bloody civilian, I can't complain.

Akwa ibom to Lagos, will never forget that journey [/s]

The worst thing about this madness being celebrated is that it is in basic cars on poorly maintained roads. Outside of supras or tuned corollas, the Toyota is a car designed for a regular commute.

On top of that most cars on Nigerian roads have been abused by mechanics and their road worthiness is in question.

You cannot even tell if your car still retains its structural integrity as it may have been cut and join.

And as for the idiots driving 250km in a prado - every suv has a warning on the sun shield - high rollover risk

I have seen the nonsense before though. Put the average Nigerian man in an suv and he starts thinking he owns the road and has to demonstrate it.

I would never understand people bragging about speed on SUVs - cars with low centre of gravity. Sedans can get away with this speed and/or making sharp turns, but not an SUV na.

Wetin dey for speed wey dey sweet people like this?

Oga dis your zobo is too chilled.

An average F1 car does 300km/h and they are equipped to not take off. How did your rickety VW remain on the ground @ 300km/h comrade?

The fact that this post was liked shows how little Nigerians know about cars.

Volkswagen Phaeaton will do 300kmph without its speed limiter,it has the same V12 as the Bentley Continental and is precisely tuned for high speed expressway cruising.

This is exactly what many reckless drivers don’t think about. Death is the easy part. If they survive they will find out the other side of life when their own body that they take for granted becomes a prison.

My mum is a retired nurse and one time when we were watching some of these emergency room reality shows she said flat out it is better to die if you are in Nigeria.

I wouldn't call myself a very fast driver, but, I hold my own. In 2018/19, when I was still doing contract driving jobs, I drove a woman and her kids from Ibadan to osogbo. On the way, I saw a BMW 5 series in front of me, having faith in the v6 evil spirit, I increased my speed and overtook it. (I later found out a woman was behind the wheels). The thing sweet me. cool

Suddenly, it started looking like the BMW was gaining. She finally leveled up, but, before she sped off, she looked at me with one yeye smile like this and off she went! cheesy grin shocked. She went away so fast I doubted my speedometer. grin You know when you are on 110/115 and a car overtakes you like you are on 60kmh! angry I was so angry! I wanted to chase, but, I was reminded that, "na inside Honda we dey o and that's a 5 series BMW in the hands of a wicked woman". grin grin. I just took my L in peace.

I respected BMW more that day and I certainly feared women more! grin

Meen! You see that word "zap"? I tell you it's miraculous. It would look like your fuel is leaking.

I notice this disappearance from 160kph whether it is Audi 80 or CRV.

But my Chrysler did not give me enough time to measure even though I pushed it past 170kph it started vibrating (one engine seating broken) so I had to drop back. Besides it takes 2 hills of almost continuous hard braking to stop safely from that speed.

Speed no good o. There is another thread here where people posted pics of their top speed. See as people dey do 200kph. Sha I still intend to register my name for dia

I've come to realize that na where your craze stop na there another person own start, you should see the way people run along this Abuja Airport Road, if you're not disciplined enough you may just be tempted to chase somebod and the wonders those taxi drivers do with their small Golf and Mazda sef na story for another day.
You are very correct, that is my route everyday and go on 120 to 140 as a lady, another thing of you drive below on that they may likely hit you from behind, except you stay on service lane , which you will still have to go beyond 80.

@Bolded, What Year of Sienna.

You probably didn't take into account your instrument cluster to know the exact numbers on you speedometer.

A Toyota Sienna Top Speed is 180Km/h (110Mph) from 99 to 2020, except 2021 - 2022 with over 200Km/h (120Mph)

I guess you were doing 180km/h instead.

Let me educate you. I am a fan of Paul Walker. Don't say nonsense. He did not die from overspeeding.

He was not the one driving. He was seated at the passenger seat in front.

His friend was driving. He died from his friend's lack of experience in driving sports cars. The friend drove the sport car, lost control and they had the accident.

Don't just come online to type rubbish.

Even the service lanes can be tiring atimes, except you're not in a hurry and won't mind slowing down or coming to a stop at those bus stops. What I do when driving along Airport Rd or Kubwa expressway, I pick the middle lane, that way, when approaching the U-turn I still maintain my lane with a bit of caution, cuz those by my left tend to merge cuz of the bend and those making use of the turn, same applies to those by my right taking the exits.

The problem with we Nigerian is some people don't regard the rules governing the roads, that's why you'll see someone Who would take an exit in less than 100m still on the far left lane and wait until about 5 - 10 meters before he decides to take the exit and cut about 3lanes immediately without thinking of whose coming behind and at what speed.

For you going 120 -140km/h just pick a lane and make your calculations ahead and don't be afraid to brake early once you notice any unusual activity ahead of you and always use your turn signals when changing lanes. Those blinking lights saved me one time on the highway.
