160km\hr Houston to Atlanta

Not a single pothole on almost 1600km of expressway. That's like driving Lagos to Kaduna I guess. Took 11.5 hours with zero traffic hold up.

Corolla dat anything post 120 body go dey vibrate
I have done 110mph with an 03 corolla and 190kph with my corolla .
A corolla can comfortably handle such speeds, unless of course a terribly maintained one.

250km/hr with a Toyota Prado in Akure - Ife - Ibadan expressway...

It was in a bid to overtake few cars trying to drag the road with us.
The person(an experienced driver) on the wheel is someone that get pissed off easily, so he did that to rubbish the other people's cars and humble them.

To humble people you may never meet again in your lifetime. You can't even remember their faces or vehicle registration numbers ever again. The funny thing is that once you park to pee, the one going 60KPH would come and pass you grin grin

obviously you know nothing about cars. The VW phaeton is essentially original Bentley continental and flying spur. Both cars were based on the Phaeton, same engine, same power output, same acceleration times and top speeds and same chassis. The only difference is the body shape and name
Word! cool

Now that's one documentary I wouldn't wanna watch but if that's what needs to be done to sober up these lunatics, then so be it.

And it's not just about overspeeding, they just don't like to follow basic traffic rules, most of which require common sense more than anything else. More men than women are guilty of disregarding road safety rules, sorry to say.

Frsc is really a useless agency. There should be Internet ads and TV ads. Nigerians are really careless in all aspects of driving. People who carry pikin in front seat regular

Was cruising at an easy 140 - 160Km/Hr when a RX 330 passed us like that. I Did a 200km/hr on Lagos Ibadan express with a 2005 Toyota Camry. We had 4 back seaters and one in front, in a bit to overtake the guy.
I did overtook and slowed down, he caught up and I did it again till he left me alone.

My passenger at the back were all asleep just the guy in front was seeing what was going on.

Will I try it again? NO
Was it sweet? Yes.

This is a big lie from hell. How do I know you are a fat liar, Volkswagen phaeton's speedometer stops at 240. Even high-end fast cars like the BMW 6 series and Benz CLS or c class stops at 260km/h

VW phaeton V6 to w12 to diesel engines have a limited speed of 250km/h and maximum of 320kmth don't know where you got your 240 from and i don't need to prove anything to anybody if you like believe if you like don't believe doesn't change anything.

shocked shocked shocked..
That's a monster of a car with superb quality but hugely underrated. It shares the same engine with the Bentley Continental.
Anyway I guess you must've had heaven's passport stamped in your hands on that day. cheesy

I wasn't the one who drove it, but I agreed to be a passenger to test it though, we observed maximum occupant protection but we didn't add rollover protection to the vehicle body.

The maximum speed for a Toyota Prado is 200km/hr.

Bro, forget that online stuff that may be based on old models of it, some have 260 km/hr.

I am currently at my business place, when I get home, I may try and get the picture of the speedometer for you to see.

Smiles, he was actually trying to pass the bad portion of the road slowly when one of the other drivers swerved to his front annoyingly, before you know it another one followed him.
He smiled and asked me "he doesn't know what is wrong with all these people, he said he will let them know whatsup."

Well, after he did that, he felt OK and to be honest I felt OK too because those guys were annoying with their way of driving.
Re: What's The Highest Speed You Did Or Experienced While Travelling? by GloriousGbola: 5:24pm On Jan 02, 2023
The worst thing about this madness being celebrated is that it is in basic cars on poorly maintained roads. Outside of supras or tuned corollas, the Toyota is a car designed for a regular commute.

On top of that most cars on Nigerian roads have been abused by mechanics and their road worthiness is in question.

You cannot even tell if your car still retains its structural integrity as it may have been cut and join.

And as for the idiots driving 250km in a prado - every suv has a warning on the sun shield - high rollover risk

I have seen the nonsense before though. Put the average Nigerian man in an suv and he starts thinking he owns the road and has to demonstrate it.

What happened to doing that on Toyota?

From Abuja to Bauchi - Damaturu Road 2010, when Nigeria was good & safer,Drove straight 170km/hr for over 30minutes in my new Benz C class. Road is wide and parallel as far as the eyes can see,no curve, with mirage at every gaze.
From afar you will see cows look like herds of goat, until you get close u won't know they are cows.
Beautiful Road in the Sahel. No police or army checkpoints just beautiful sceneries.
Haven't passed that route since Boko Haram.

Well atm, the roads are now eyesore with potholes everywhere. It's only when you get to Bauchi you get to see good roads and Bauchi linking Fika-Potiskum-Damaturu but it's a single carriageway that you just gotta think twice bfr you speed cuz of em crazy hausa drivers always keen to overtake

My experience was when I went for a neighbor burial 2016, the man was a military man. I joined their escort hilux when returning, shit was new... They had siren blazing and we were literally flyinggrin

I repented in the car and I prayed the Lord to take my soul to heaven if it happens.

I was at the front sit and speedometer was constantly at the extreme end of RED for almost 80% time of the journey. We were doing 280 or more if I'm not mistaken.

There was a fuel pipe we changed 3 times, speed blown that pipe 3 time and how that vehicle didn't caught up on flame till date is a miracle to me.

That was the day I knew truly army are trained to either kill or die.

With siren all vehicles were giving ways, this contributed to the speed madness. As a bloody civilian, I can't complain.

Akwa ibom to Lagos, will never forget that journey
