Goodlady:

Don't misquote me sir, I mmnot a Tinubu supporter.
But I know the history you are twisting.
Firstly, if not for national reconciliation, Nzeogwu shouldn't be celebrated. In fact, he should v been killed ingloriously before he orchestrated his death in the Biafra war.
2ndly, Ladoke Akintola that he killed was a respected citizen. The Igbos had grouses with the northerners prior to the Biafran war. It's wasn't Yorubas that were killing Igbos in the north. So why the transfer of aggression on Yoruba leaders at that time? They wanted Balewa and Ahmadu Bello. The officers that killed Akintola could v shot him in the leg or arm if he was too stubborn for them.
3rdly, he said they were cleaning the govt and spared Nnamdi Azikiwe. That's padipadi arrangement of brothers from same tribe. He was freed by Aguiyi Ironsi, that's a traitor move and at the end, he joined forces with Biafra. The whole activities later led toman avoidable war that eventually made the Igbos pay bitterly for.
I m not here to justify that Igbos deserve whatever they get but we must show that while we are still together in Nigeria, our agitations, arguments should be logical.
I m sure some ll still misquote me and get e-knock on their head!

Can point out to where tinubu was mentioned in that comment? If you can't, then you are a fool. You are solely response for what ur mind thinks

S/E and lies are 5&6 but it's too late to change history..

Ahmadu Bello adopted him and gave him the name Kaduna so that he could fit into the north properly. Ahmadu Bello Educated Chukwuma Kaduna Nzogbu and used his influence to enlist him into the Army as Chukwuma couldn't make the list on merit.

Ask yourself how Chukwuma Nzeogwu came about the name Kaduna

While i am from the South south, I am basing my assertions on the biographic sketch his younger brother Peter Nzeogwu wrote about him as well as Obasanjo's more well known work.

He was never adopted by the Sardauna. And he was nicknamed Kaduna because he was born and grew up there.

Also it would have been weird for the Sardauna to use his influence for an Igbo lad to enter the Army as Northern region policy then was to get more of their boys into the army. Getting a southerner in would have been weird.

The Aburi accord was not enforceable. It would only have delayed the war by a few months, a year at most, and by then the igbos would have been more prepared and difficult to defeat.

Gowon hurriedly signed the accord in order to avoid war without understanding the implications, until it was pointed out by Akenzua (the future Oba of Benin).

A signed agreement is a signed agreement and valid in law. Whatever party that breaks a binding agreement is the cause of whatever trouble that emanates

The Americans are even dismantling confederate statues and here we are in 2023 and someone thought it a good idea to erect the statue of a man who started Nigeria on a road to perdition
Nigeria the land of hypocrites...Nigeria the only country on earth that rewards one for his bad behaviours. This same person who is talking about American statues being taken down actually supported and voted a living COUP PLOTTER in the person of Buhari TWICE. Buhari committed a treasonable offence upon the people of Nigeria by wresting power from a democratically elected government through the barrel of a gun and nobody called for the heads of fulani, infact Nigerians rewarded that same Buhari with presidency years later in a democratic government....bloody hypocrites!

And if Nigeria had not been created, the coup would never have happened. We can all go back and say if that had not happened, this woukd not have happened

However, the proximate cause of the war was the refusal of Gowon to implement what he signed in Aburi

No, the 1966 coup started a ckusterfvck of crisis and genocide that made war inevitable. I would even argue that July 66 coup was the second major battle of the war.

Aburi was just the last.throw in the dice to stop the coming war from happening.

The first republic was very corrupt, but that did not justify the coup
I disagree. Yes there were a few corrupt politicians like my tribesman Okotie-eboh, Akintola and maybe maybe Fani Kayode. But most of the politicians were honest, a did a lot of good things, developments in their regions. I could not think of one Northerner Eastern leader accused of corruption. Most politicians of that era died in poverty, no huge bank accounts, no properties scattered all over the place and no extravagant lifestyles.

The Aburi accord had no legal standing? The other regions did not agree to it, the parliament did not agree to it. Ojukwu and Gowon could not just sign Nigeria's sovereignty away.

So Nzeogwu is not from Anambra state or SE?
I learned that he was brought up in Kaduna.

I guess their sin here is that they are the first to execute coup because, there were records of other coups that happened thereafter, even after the civil war.
Why are other perpetrators not been vilified too, some have been rewarded with presidential seat?

Because he lived with Sardauna, in his residence like a son, enjoyed all privileges only for him to use his closeness to kill him, so the type of betrayal is never forgiven.

Their sin was, they killed political and military leaders of the North and Southwest. Sparing all political leaders of the Southeast!
They brought the first division in the country. To make matters worse, the person that took power that was also from the Southeast refused to punish them. Leading to dissatisfaction in the country, especially in the North.

Are you Americans? Do Americans exhibit fear of their history as the Nigerian state does?

Is Nigeria united as it was before the war the way America built its prosperity after the civil war?

Is American terrorisés by Fulani herdsmen, the creek boys, oduduwa people and IPOB like Nigeria?

Compare these two and see if your argument is still valid.

Whenever you hold the N5 or N200
naira notes, remember it was this man
that plotted their death.

In fact, he personally killed the man
on the N200 note and boasted about
how he invaded the man's residence and
killed him and a wife together. The man
was Ahmadu Bello.

He also killed the first and only Prime
Minister Of Nigeria.☹️☹️☹️☹️

Well you better read about the Aburi agreement because the military Governors of all 4 Regions signed the agreement on behalf of their respective Regions

Parliament did not agree to Gowon abolishing the 4 Regions and creating states, but Gowon did anyway. Today we have 36 states, all created by Nigerian military rulers

Why is his name Kaduna rather than Okoro?
It's good to seek knowledge before assuming.
In his early days growing up in Kaduna town, his friend gave him the name, it's like an affinity to the town.
Secondly he was highly intelligent, sheer will and focused amongst his peers.

Simple question. Provide proof of any sort that the Nzeogwu lived under the roof of Ahmadu bello. Is that too hard to do in this Internet age?

The reason is simple:

Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogu and his coup plotters killed notable northerners like Sir Tafawa Balewa Nigeria prime minister, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Saudana of Sokoto the then Premier of Northern Region. These and other well respected and highly referred northerners were killed in that coup d'etat hence the suspicion till today and I'm not sure the Hausa Fulanis have forgotten or forgiven those that staged that coup.

The man is the main reason why Nigeria is where it is today.
You killed all the Northern and Yoruba leaders in your coup and left the Igbos after an agrrement to execute all the corrupt leaders.
They do finish after all the complaints Igbo man still end up be military president..The Yorubas just chill and didnt tk action for peace to reign
The Hausas on the other hand qrefused and started killin the Igbos in the North.

Why was the counter coup targetted at all Igbo officers instead of Nzeogwu and his boys?
OkutaNla:

Yes, a revolution that culminated in the mass slaughter of millions of Igbos in a needlessly war.

Akuko. Why do you Igbos love self-deceit for goodness sake If Nzeogwu coup had not happened, there would have been no counter coup which was in response to the Nzeogwu coup and targeted majorly at both Igbo officers, Aguiyi Ironsi and Igbo civilians all across Nigeria by officers of Northern extraction. Only a fool would say what you just said coz it's obvious to the blind that the counter coup was the major precursor to the Civil war due to its macabre slaughter of Igbos in Northern Nigeria as a direct reprisal against the sectional killing of Northern leaders by Nzeogwu and his boys. There would've been nothing like Aburi accord without those preceding events. Endeavor to tell yourself the truth once in a while.

Nzeogwu's father was a servant (gardener) in late Ahmadu Bello's house so Chukwuma Nzeogwu was adopted by late Ahmadu Bello (Sarduana and the then Premier of Northern Nigeria) and was brought up in Ahmadu Bello's house in Kaduna.

Ahmadu Bello was the one that gave Nzeogwu the name Kaduna and it was Ahmadu Bello that educated and put him in the army.
