Things Fall Apart is a rudimentary story book. Someone of Soyinka’s status, with the command of the English language, knowledge of Yoruba spirituality and intellectualism - won’t write something as basic as that.

I prefer Soyinka’s “The Man Died” - the level of introspection and use of language, is on the next realm.
