No one is again Subsidy Removal. And stop being little

The fuel subsidy that was already removed before Tinubus inauguration, if your clueless Peter Obi had won he would have met the same status quo as Tinubu met on ground, unless he would use his own money to subsidize the fuel because there was no money anymore for that but huge debt, imagine borrowing to subsidize fuel which end up benefiting the rich more, but you wouldn't know because your mind is already beclouded by hatred for Tinubu, you guys need to research more instead of just reacting emotionally due to your biases.

The ideas of Tinubu copying Peter Obi is a very ambitious if not ludicrous one from obedients. Peter Obi will never be able to hold a candle to Tinubu when it comes to ideas, leadership and effectiveness. Take that to the bank.

Oga Rest... Their isn't any good time for subsidy removal. I aren't a fan of this old political party, but the truth still remains the truth.

The same reason why Tinubu and his ilks rejected subsidy removal during Goodluck Jonathan regime to the extent of sponsoring protest all over the country is the same reason Nigerians are rejecting it today

The distance between Nigeria border to benin 🇧🇯 border isn’t up to 1 mins bro. It’s so close. These smugglers uses small small boys! They smuggle thru bikes, cars, boats, canoes.

So crossing over is the easiest thing as there’s no distance between benin/Nigeria!

The price differential even without subsidy will still make it attractive to smuggle to Benin Republic. We will be buying at 500+, they buy theirs at 800+
As long as it's not been subsidized by our Federal Government, they can buy as much as they can.

You guys sometimes sound like you reason from your anus. So, because some unscrupulous people have been smuggling subsidized fuel from Nigeria to Benin Reprublic, the whole citizen should bear the brunt? What happens to setting up a task force to curb this menace? What happens to effective border policing? There's a reason why illiteracy is worse than cancer. There's no single economic benefit of this subsidy removal. Please don't say that the money will be diverted to other sectors because you and I know if won't. Rather, it will be looted in broad day light.

Secondly, the law of equity says that; 'He who must come to the table must come with clean hands'. If the government is truly sincere about the development of this nation, why can't they reduce the running cost of governance? Or is their bogus pay not affecting our recurring expenditure? See, they ain't bearing any brunt but they are telling the citizens (who are already going through a lot) to sacrifice for the greater good. If you cannot see the insincerity of our government, then you need to have your head examined.

Same subsidy has caused to much headache for us.
The amount of corruption going on is too much.
You talk as if Nigeria is US, how many border patrol and control mechanisms do you hope to set up and how long do you hope to achieve it?
The network of corruption is like a cancer, do you think this started 1 month ago? This has been going o for decades and the chain is so complex and deep.
What you said is far easier said than done.
When GEJ wanted to remove subsidy, fuel would have sold for 140 per litre, everyone fought him and same fuel was later selling for 185.
Abeg we are tired of subsidy and its wahala. Forward ever, backward never

Tinubu did the right thing taking it off immediately. The distraction is enough, let him focus abeg

Fuel in Benin is N489 right now.

And right now, fuel in Nigeria is N488-540 per liter.

At the end of the day, smugglers cannot make a profit at all. Removing subsidy has made it difficult for anyone to smuggle fuel across the border.

And people ask me why I say subsidy must go...well here is one good reason. grin

Modified

If fuel was still N195, and I was living on the border, I can buy fuel into two 50l jerrycans, at N19500, cross the broder and sell it at dobule the price, and earn a cool N40000. Note that it was not only big cabals involved in the smuggling...it was also small poor boys and gals too.
What about increasing the price to 300 or 350, that way it won't be lucrative to smugglers again

You can't compare petroleum to those products you listed above.

And the smuggling in of those commodities are one of the things damaging our economy as well. Instead of them to use Nigeria's port or manufacture in nigeria, they go to neighbouring countries and produce over there or import from there to smuggle into Nigeria.
Our west African neighbours are parasites eating on our economy.

The smuggling of petrol has come to an end. No going back. We hope Tinubu deal with them with the smuggling of commodity products as well
First of all, don't let this bullcrap fool you. All the cars in Benin Republic are not up to a million. Yet we're blaming them for subsidy when Nigeria boasts of over 15million cars never mind petrol generating set. My point is even if there's smuggling to other countries, it's a fraction of what we use here in comparison. Petrol is even used to grind pepper here in Nigeria and pump water!!
The reason I gave that guy the analogy is to show him that it actually cuts both ways. So to claim our neighboring countries are the reasons we have subsidy issues is a big lie.
We also smuggle from them. Rice, textiles and cars are smuggled into Nigeria through Benin by Nigerians.

Everyone is entitlement corrupt in Nigeria. I worked in border b4,
U can't believe, people do a lot. it's a normal thing. When u broke, quickly buy fuel of 10litres and cross with leg and sell. make money and settled agencies( b4 it was 50 naira each agencies) and come back u have 1k to 2k profit. Some goes 2 or 3 times a day. No agency will disturb the small small ones except in vehicle. Their slogan is give us ours, this is our own Abuja.

So funny that if you are known and u decided not to go any trip, your friends among d agencies will ask you why? Please u have to huastle now oo😂😂

Just go to seme border as we speak? It's as normal as abnormal to strangers

Yeah, because the profit margin from smuggling fuel...I could earn enough if I was a smuggler, pay off the customs and excise people and still come home with a ton of money.

Plus, here is a cold truth,...customs men and women cannot be everywhere. Unless we built the equivalent of the Berlin Wall around our country and manned it with over 3 million soldiers, we won't stop this nonsense.

At least that loophole is closed for now.

The same thing happens in Venezuela. Fuel is less than N10, meanwhile in its neighbours it is above N500. Result...Venezuela loses 18 BILLION dollars annually to smuggling.

It's like osmosis...area of high concentration and all that.
It has increased from N2? There oil cheap pass pure water grin

Oga don't always argue what you don't know, listen to people with open mind and learn. Go to places like idiroko, owode, ibogun etc, smuggling is a big business, even the traditional rulers, law enforcement officers are involved in the business. Smuggling in these places is like bunkering business in the Niger Delta.

But you are ready to Japa at the slightest opportunity, you will sell your house and properties and carry ten million naira to Japa to a country where they don't cut anyone any lapses and hussle, where you will not be able to flush your toilet after urinating because you pay heavily for water, you manage electricity because you know evetime you switch on the light you are incurring bills which you must pay, you pay tax without complain and you work your ass off just to pay bills, but you will not complain, no subsidy, you will not complain. You sacrifice to build another man's country but when it comes to Nigeria your country you feel you have a right to insult the government at the slightest opportunity, you refuse to cooperate with government development policy and later complain that Nigeria is not good.
