I KNOW JOE STATEMENT CAME OUT OF BITTER JEALOUSY PECULIAR TO THE HEART OF MOST NIGERIANS. I DONT THINK GOVERNMENT CAN STOP ANYONE FROM BUILDING HIS OWN REFINERY IF HE OR SHE DEEM IT FIT.
WE SHOULD NOT TURN OURSELVES TO ENEMIES OF PROGRESS OUT OF BITTER JEALOUSY.

Buhari simply killed our refineries in
order to make his fellow northern
Muslim takeover the Nigerian oil industry.

He handed Dangote the keys to the
wealth of the Niger Delta.

Southern leaders are too dumb, selfish
and politically naive to understand what I'd
going on.❌❌❌❌❌

The refineries were already in a mess long before Buhari took over. They were not producing up to capacity as at 2011, and they were depreciating as far back as the 1990's. The cold reason being subsidy forcing them to operate at a loss...so that we could have cheap fuel.

Plus the deal to build Dangote's refinery was signed under , and some of the loans were facilitated by GEJ's government.

Also, licences have been issued to private refineries since ...by 2011, there were dozens of refinery licences. That they were not taken up has more to do with the fact that no one is going to sell subsidised fuel from any refinery...one would lose money.

1.Qatar produces 1.8 million barrels of crude a day and shares it among 1.2 million people.

2. UAE produces 2.2 million barrels of crude a day and shares it among 15 million people.

3.Saudi produces 10 million barrels of crude a day and shares it among 40 million people.

4.Nigeria...produces 1.8million barrels of crude a day and shares it (the revenue from the oil) among 220 MILLION people.

We produce the same amount of crude as Qatar and have to share it among .......200 times the population.

That's why we are poor. The per capita oil wealth is too low to make us a rich nation....which is why we got to diversify this economy self.
I really love your comparison and fact....
But despite the Nigeria growing population, is the generated Revenue even shared across ?

Thanks for compliment

As for revenue, while the revenue is not shared 'equitably' (Lord knows looting and stealing is a problem), even if it was, it still won't be enough

That is why our leaders since time inmmemorial have been singing 'We must diversify'...while making no progress on it.

Let him continue to wallow in his ignorance. OPEC DOES NOT regulate any price. They only try to influence. There are so many players in the energy market that don't belong to OPEC.

If you think subsidy removal will make Nigeria better then you are on your own.

The real questions should be how did the cost of subsidizing petrol for almost 16years of pdp suddenly become something we pay yearly to keep subsidies on.

Nobody should be quoting international prices of energy without comparing the general cost of living, earnings and standard of living.

Let them subsidize Nigerians abeg, let them arrest and prosecute those behind the subsidy scam. Why would over 200million people pay the price for the crimes of less than 50,000 people.

If Nigeria is so broke then let them start with themselves, why will less than 1million people get to enjoy about 25% of the statutory allocations legally and still have access to steal up to 50%.

No stupid increase in wage too. Are you all not tired of this persistent rate of inflation. If you think the government of Nigeria would give you a minimum wage that will buy a bag of rice you are on your own. The moment they increase the minimum wage the cost of every commodity will react to counter the benefits. Why do you think despite the increase in wage people are still poor all over the world. That's because it's the SYSTEM.

Capital punishment should be meted out to public officers who are found guilty of corruption.

Why do ignorant people think competition would drive prices of petrol down and make it cheaper. Haven't you heard of price rings? How much is a litre of LPG, Diesel, kerosene? E Don come down? Why is competition not driving the prices down.

It is the duty of government to regulate prices, there is no market that cannot be manipulated forget all these demand and supply theory, there is a reason why there are abnormal demand and supply curves. All they need do is create a disruption In The normal flow of things and blame it on an event.

How many times will they remove the so called subsidy self. Don't be surprised that after some months or years you will begin to hear subsidies again.

Our problem is actually proper education......we take education at the certificates value........basic economics of supply and demand is not applicable to a product you're not a producer of; especially in this prodigal approach of Nigerians government.......you're a customer of a product and and you're thinking market force will work in your favour........the actual market force is at where it is been produced not in the country where it been consumed.

The comparison is based on the exchange rate.

What are the other options this country has? Government can’t run any business. All their refineries keep swallowing money & is useless.

Subsidy is a pit that also swallows money wt no benefit for expansion. Subsidy is gone. The goal is increasing states revenue generation and providing a living minimum wage.

Where is Bua refinery located?

Peter Obi is a dumb liar.

There's no way the price of fuel will come down to ₦100 even if refinery is sited in every local government

Peter Obi never mentioned N100. I did
Peter Obi proposed that before fuel subsidy is removed
1. There has to be wide and extensive consultation with organised labour
2. That he will grant licences to those who are are ready to set up modular refineries including those that are currently refining illegally.

These two points would have helped calm nerves and ensure that the organised labour has an input in the new reality.

Tinubu did none of those. He just went on air to say SUBSIDY GONE, without consulting with the organised labour, nor ensuring there is an alternative affordable source of petrol. This is the height of incompetence

Dangote is scamming Nigerians through Federal Government.

Dangote refinery is not even 70% ready, he hurriedly deceived Buhari to commission it to get more FOREX at CBN rate which is how Aliko Dangote and others like him have been making money off Nigerians.

Dangote will set up big company like oil refinery, cement plant, etc in the guise of helping to grow Nigeria's economy while shortchanging his Nigerian staffs who always resign and move to better firms, and then he hires plenty expatriates and quote high salaries in USD for these idle expatriates he uses as conduit to get dollar from CBN at CBN official rate which he goes to sell at black market rate to make billions.

Dangote Refinery isn't starting PMS refining anytime soon until around 2025 because even the cracker he hurriedly told Indians and Chinese to test run failed.

Are you dumb Nigerians not aware that Dangote applied for Petrol importation license last year and have gotten it? Why is someone building Petrol refinery still applying for PMS importation license and built massive tank farms at Ibeju Lekki?

We know their secrets and that is why they hate us for always exposing and daring them.

Dangote is deceiving you all while FG helps him to make billions off Nigerian people's sufferings and tears. Una eyes go soon clear

The tank farms could be for crude oil.storage or storage of his own refined petroleum before shipment.

When they are not current and everything is Peter Obi would do this.
Even in Edo state, one modular refinenary will be commissioned this year.

It makes no sense to say market forces will determine price when you have only one supplier in the market

That simply tells you that the so call market forces is still government forces determining the price and while Nigerians will be under the mirage of a big scam that government will be playing on Nigerians cos actually they can overprice fuel while the inflated cost is just another milking zone for them.

No matter the "mess" our refineries were
at, at least they were all working, albeit in
a reduced capacity and meeting part of
our needs and creating employment up till
around 2016.

Why did they now become comatose
under Buhari as Minister for Petroleum
and also president❓Instead of concentrating
in fixing our refineries, Buhari and
Kyari were giving free money to Dangote
through the back door to complete his
refinery.

Everything about the Petroleum industry
is controlled by Northerners, same as
anything that involves the wealth and security
Nigeria. They are all in Northern Muslim
hands.

Ports Authority, one northerner gets
removed by corruption and is replaced
by another Northerner.

Any sector that Dangote takes over, be
sure that price of his product will become
unaffordable to the common man.
Dangote entered cement and cement
went from 1k to 5k. He entered fertilizer
and it went from 6k to 30k per bag.
He is now in Petroleum and litre I'd now
from 190 to 600. If he enter garri, all of
us go run to Ghana or Cameroon.😕😕😕
