Goodday everyone, read the 196 pages of this thread, I must commend you all,the most mature thread I have come across on this forum,I am not ttc,I am not even married, had to read because of my aunty who has been ttc for 9 years, she has been through a lot,I don't even want to start narrating, anyway, does any one know where or how I can get inofolic and vitex in Benin, she has not seen her period since her last miscarriage,it's been months now,or if there is someone I can buy from, please help, we have looked for it in big pharmacies in Benin still no luck

For Inofolio, the best option is to order online. For vitex, shop rite warri
should have.

Joyfulmother:
Dear Sisters.
I'm sorry if my response to the congratulatory messages is coming this late; Background story is that a few days after i posted my testimony, i did a long write-up in which i was trying to encourage all us and also give some tips that i followed this time around. Unfortunately, my battery was almost all gone and the network was acting up. By the time my battery was up, the write-up had not been posted and fiam! I lost everything. i was so discourage i didnt even venture Nairaland again until I've really cooled down which is now. That coupled with d fact that my phonem which i was using became broken and sometimes to even type a sentence becomes frustration itself! So, please forgive me. It's not as if i plan to just run away with my experiences, just as i learnt from the likes of Faithful wife i also plan to let others learn from my IVF journey too. Also, I pray for every TTC mothers on this platform everyday. I know that God who looked down on me and had mercy after 7+ years of waiting will remember each and everyone here too. Just hold on to Him. Every morning I use Psalms 145:15-19 in prayers for all my TTC friends and I'm sure God will honor His word in our lives.
Like i learnt from faithful wife, let me also state the things i did differently this time ( Or may i even say the things i planned to do differently but couldn't grin, but God did show Himself faithful)
1. A lot of prayers went forth. Yes i did have some fasting periods but i couldnt do much of fasting because i was placed on some special diets which i had to adhere to eating at particular times. But i didnt relent on prayers. I very much believe in United Prayers, so i had a powerful Night vigil with my Mom n elder sis after which i was assured that all bounds were broken. I'm from a conservative Christian homes so we do not go to Prophets or Pastors, we just pray in the family. However, if there are Pastors U trust U could let them pray with U.
2.Hmmn, very funny! i was supposed to desist from stress, however, the week just before my FET was so stressful, my calendar was shifted a week before schedule and everything became almost a mess coupled with the fact that i had to do a 5-hour journey to Lagos 2 days before d procedure, was in a very foul mood and angry with my Drs. In any case, I couldnt shift further so i had to go in for d FET!
3. I learnt from Faithful wife that i should nt do away with d Pregnacare Conception Tabs, so this time, along with the 800Ug Folic acid i was given in d clinic, i used d Pregnacare Tabs, I used extra 400mg Vit C (+ d 90mg in d Pregnacare), i was on Prednisolone, 5mg and Baby Aspirin 75mg for 2 weeks before d FET and Progynova, 6mg as prescribed. Stopped the CoQ 10 few days to d FET as advised by my Doc n this time insisted on Progesterone injection rather than the Pessaries (I read that the injection are better because the get evenly distributed since they are Depot injection).
4. Well, this is almost against Doc's advise, I refused to get up from the recovery bed to go pee until about 15minutes after d transfer as against d less than 5 min they made me get up during my 1st fresh IVF cycle. then i went back n laid for another 45mins after which i went home, being careful of bumpy rides.
5. Well i didnt really get time to be lying around after d transfer, infact, d situation i found myself d day of d transfer warranted me cooking for myself in d evening and since then i just continued to move around as much as i needed to. i actually found out it was better to move around than to have a bed rest as moving around allows free blood flow to the Uterus which helps implantation.
6. About my diet, i removed everything wheat (White bread, Brown bread, Pasta, Cakes Noodles, Cemo), refined sugars, soft drinks, diary (especially milk, these included beverages such as Bournvita and Milo) from my meals. i was advised to do this when i went for detoxification prior to my first IVF and since then i kept on following d dietary advise. There was a test (Asyra Test) done on d computer which could tell what meals one needs to avoid.
I went for fresh vegetables and mostly steamed fruits. i was advised against eating fresh fruits as they said something about my inability to metabolize histamines.
I also needed to stay off Locus beans and smoked fish or meat. Something about d smoke grin
Anyways, My success story is nothing short of a miracle as like i wrote above a lot of things just didnt go well towards d tail end but Today, to Glory of God I'm 2 months on. It has only been God!
In fact, at the begining of the year, my whole situation was bleak, after d first failed attempt, The Prof who owns d Clinic (It's MART, Ikeja, Adjacent to d Ikeja Cantonment) recommended another round of 5-day Detoxification for me after going thru one of 3 days (It's no joke o, that was to cost me about another 700K) and also IVG Infusion or something like that, costing a whooping $1,500 USD!
I and DH just told ourselves that we were just at our wits' end and if God would not do d miracle we better go and rest grin! Even if i had wanted to undergo d treatment, we didnt just have d money any more. As at d end of d first procedure, being d first with all d induction and all and d detox, we had put in 2.5M this was outside other expenses we incured. We were just out rightly broke.
But to God be the Glory, needed neither d Infusion nor d extra Detox, I m here today with child.
My Sisters, i hope my long epistle did not bore U. I like to b of help in any way, please feel free to let me know if there is anyway, i can help and for those of us who have been blessed on this platform, let us b our Sisters' keepers, let's once in a while put in words of encouragement and never forget to pray for one another.
God bless us all smiley. Amen
Congratulations. God is indeed a faithful God. Praying you have a smooth healthy ride, supernatural birth and a healthy baby/babies, Amen.

Favouredmom:
The Lord that doeth what no man can do, how excellent is your name!

The Lord has done it for me o! After over two years of battling in this TTC journey, 1 suspended ICSI cycle, 1 failed FET cycle, days and nights spent weeping and crying my eyes out to God, the Lord has remembered me and blessed me with a very Big Fat Positive HPT today at 9dp5dt.

I give God all the praise. I haven't done my beta test yet, that'll be in two days but the two lines on my pregancy test stick are really dark. I've seen too many negative results in my life to recognise and differentiate a positive one even at first glance.

What I did differently this time:

1. I didn't neglect fasting and prayers, I went on some days fasting prior to my transfer and made sure to intensify my prayers and build my faith in God.
2. I stayed off google up until today, the many discouraging things we read there tend to shake out faith in God. I stopped googling signs and symptoms after transfer
3. I went against my doctors advice and took baby aspirin. I intend to tell him at my next appointment in two days time but I'm sure he wouldn't mind and will be happy it was positive anyway
4. I relaxed as much as I could as I'm a natural workaholic. Took time off work after the transfer and took it easy with chores although I got another job in the process which is a lot easier
5. I kept using my folic acid, vit C & D, omega 3, progynova 6mg that was prescribed by my doctor and the crinone gel which finished before I could get another packet but God still proved himself faithful. I've now continued on the progesterone pessaries.
6. Ate my pineapple slices faithfully from day of transfer till 5dp5dt
Finally, God favoured me!

To all reading this and still in the waiting room, I declare that the waiting is OVER! The Good Lord that did mine like a dream will do yours in Jesus name

Congrats on God's favour upon you.You shall carry to them, have a happy and healthy pregnancy and childbirth of healthy baby/babies. Amen. Please share the hospital you used for the records, it could help someone.

To God be ALL the glory, I got my BFP and a scan confirmed pregnancy at Olivebranch Lekki this week! grin This is coming after over 19 years of TTC that included several years of natural health therapies, countless IUI s, Clomid & TI cycles and 9 embryo transfers. This clinic has indeed become my last TTC ‘bus stop’ as I had prayed and hoped.

My sisters-in-waiting, it was God’s mercy at work. What I think also helped me was:

*RESEARCH, research & more research! Pls. don’t put yourself 100% in ANY doctor’s hands without researching your options & being able to request whatever will benefit you.
*Doing a vagisteam before starting meds. Combined dried herbs like basil, motherwort, rosemary & mugwort (obtained from Alade market Ikeja)
*Insisting on the cancellation of the penultimate scheduled embryo transfer when my lining refused to grow beyond 7mm (many other Drs.' would have railroaded and gone ahead anyway, just hoping to get 'lucky' as they sometimes do for even much thinner linings.) In this successful cycle my lining was 9.4mm before intro of progesterone & 11.1mm on day of Embryo Transfer.
*Doing needle acupuncture EVERYDAY in the 12 days before the embryo transfer (was able to fit in a session on the very morning as the transfer was done in the afternoon) using acu-points that aid blood flow to uterus.(located my Lagos acupuncture clinic thru online research)
*Using Viagra cream - not tablets, vaginally (sourced from a Canadian Dr. in Malaysia and Bricanyl tablets (from Alpha) for about 11 days - also to increase blood flow. ; in fact Dr. Emeka agreed to delay down regulation, giving me 2nd shot of Zoladex after expiration of 1st one, in order for me to receive the Viagra parcel (research also shows though more expensive, Zoladex gives higher success rates than daily Buserelin injections)
*Castor oil pack on tummy almost daily for about two weeks
*Daily sitz baths (alternating sitting in hot & cold water), sometimes twice daily, stopping 2 days before the transfer – also to increase blood flow.
*Sometimes soaking feet in hot water for 20 minutes, before bed (also to increase blood flow to uterus)
*Day 21 Endometrial Scratch (had also done one before at another clinic the previous year)
*Femoral massage: got hubby to press artery for me at least once daily & at the clinic just before the transfer
*Having intralipid drip at the clinic one week before the transfer - with the general absence of availability of immune tests in this country, it’s a good safeguard whether or not your body actually needs it.
*Daily eating 5 Brazil nuts (ASDA uk) before transfer & throughout 2 week wait. Was able to get pineapple only on 4th day after transfer so ate its core only on Days 4 & 5..
*Doing a deep tissue body massage 2 days before the transfer (got a bargain package – there are several, on dealdey site)
*Insisting on Day 5 transfer: after so many past failures and disappointments, I had made up my mind after research that even if all our embryos appeared to be struggling, no Day 2 or 3 transfer; if they all died before Day 5, so be it. Luckily we had 90% ICSI fertilisation and all made it to blast.
*After the transfer, taking DAILY injections (with Dr’s permission) of 100mg Gestone in addition to clinic’s 2x 400mg cyclogest; quite painful & bum already feels like a pin cushion but for me no sacrifice is too much. Clinics here do not do regular hormone checks for levels after the transfer so it makes me feel safer. I’m also prepared to endure the daily injections for as long as necessary!
*Just before the transfer, requested & got a picture of our embryos which I used as a point of contact in prayer.

What I’ve learnt (the hard way) on my long, long TTC journey:
No doctor, spouse, family or friend, can desire my success more than my own self: I am my own best advocate! My sisters, despite glowing recommendations of any fertility clinic/Dr, do your own research. Never be afraid to ask questions and always try to go with your gut feelings; run/’talk to your feet’ if you have integrity concerns about any of them; I have also learned that though often tedious and inconvenient, it pays to try to prepare as much as one humanly can (castor oil, massage, foot soak, etc), before the embryo transfer and above all, to always pray for God’s mercy & intervention.

Thanks for your prayers and best wishes! Yes Lady G, it was Dr. Essien but at their branch at Amuwo Odofin area. To make the sessions less painful, I paid 20k for a new set of needles (i'd been using former set for over 2 years and they were getting blunt) and then negotiated the cost of the daily sessions - without any medications. What you end up paying depends on your bargaining power.

I took the intralipids at the Olive branch clinic. I don't know specifically how much it cost because for us, it was built into the initial treatment costs.

INFERTILITY MANAGEMENT WITH BELL PRODUCTS: MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES
By Dr (Mrs) Anthonia Kusa, Private Practitioner
I have been in practice for several years, using only natural herbs to assist in the management of Infertility and many other health disorders. We have been recording good results ever since with several happy patients. I have been using BELL LIFESTYLE PRODUCTS in addition to our other regular remedies. We have recorded increased and effective results in our management of several cases. A Couple came to the clinic in May, 2011 with record of Infertility for five (5) years. The man had low sperm count and infections. The woman had Ovarian Cyst and the blockage of the right side fallopian tube, which needed an operation. I decided to use Bell Products on them. I had met Dr Anucha, who introduced me to Bell range. The Couple were placed on Acidic stomach alkaline Balance and Intestinal Cleansing. This is to detoxify their system. Thereafter, they started on Fertalin and Stem Cell Activator in addition with Supreme
Immune Booster for the woman, with few of our other products to open up the blocked fallopian tube. After three months of treatment, we repeated the routine investigations. Semen analysis of the man showed increase from 6 million to 21 million, with good motility. For the woman, the ovarian cyst had disappeared!
Notwithstanding, we still placed them on Fertalin and other remedies for timely ovulation. After four (4) months of medications, she became pregnant. She put to bed a bouncing baby boy in June, 2012.
Also a health practitioner in Saudi Arabia had the problem of Amenorrhea without pregnancy. She has been on contraceptive pills for months and was also having ovarian cyst. We placed her on natural remedies including Bell Products; hear her testimony on the phone…….
“Thank you doctor. My menstrual circle was 35 days and has been regular, the cyst are disappearing. Thank you ma”
Another lady with fibroids who was placed on herbal remedies said also on the phone …“good evening Ma,
it shows in the scan report of today that the fibroids have reduced. The scan report in August read 10.3cm by
10.6cm before the treatment while today report reads 2.92cm by 7.89cm”
These are just few extracts from our records showing that Bell products are highly effective in Infertility and
gynaecological management

RECOMMENDATIONS
* Avoid vigorous exercises, hot tubs and saunas as they lead to changes in ovulation and reduced
sperm counts. Get ovulation kits from Bell Lifestyle to monitor your ovulation period.
* Do not take any drugs except those prescribed by your physician.
* Do not smoke and avoid being around cigarette smoke and smokers.
* Do not consume animal fats, fried foods, sugar or junk foods, balance up your PH. Use Acidic
Stomach Alkaline Balance
* Increase intake of fresh fruits and vegetables
* Regular total body detoxification
* Adequate water intake
* Avoid some ulcer medications. They may decrease sperm count and even cause impotence. Try Acid Refluxand Indigestion Tea/Acidic Stomach Alkaline Balance
* Learn stress management techniques and deal with stress that can be avoided. Try Bell Calming Chronic Stress
* Caffeine consumption may prevent some women from becoming pregnant. Drink natural caffeine free tea.
* For women bearing children in later years, try Stem Cell Activator
* Avoid overgrowth of unfriendly bacteria, candida, fungi or parasites. Most gynaecological infections resulting to Infertility are caused from Microbes that crept into the Vagina and Uterus from the Colon (Anus). Try BellColon Cleanse, Virux Viral, Bladder and Yeast Infection
* Increase the intake of wholesome foods rich in vitamins and mineral
* Increase intake of essentials fatty acids, oily fish, fish liver oil, seed nuts, pulse, beans and unrefined vegetables oils.

pslm23:
I know there is a TTC forum but I was just wondering if there are any ladies here that are going through or will soon go through IVF/IUI or any other assisted reproduction techniques other than clomid.

I am currently doing IVF and thought it would be nice to share with others on the same journey and compare notes on meds, stimms, retrievals, transfers etc.
I'm on day 4 of stimms using 1cc of Menopur 75IU and 375 IU of Gonal-F injections I have to take in my belly every night. These meds have the worst side effects, headaches, nausea and kick-a ss diarrhea (TMI sorry  wink )

If you have an IVF experience, please share.

They are different things.
Intralipid is to aid implantation by working on the body's immune system. It reduces the killer cells that work against implantation.
Amnio/cvs on the other hand is a test conducted on the baby/fetus in utero to ensure there are no birth defects, chromosomal abnormalities like downs etc. Done by withdrawing amniotic fluid or placental sample thru the cervix or stomach between 10-15 weeks.
I'm asking for the cost of the cvs or amnio

Good morning Mummies,

wishing you all a Happy Mother's Day.

Thank God for this forum where we can all encourage and lift each other up both spiritually and practical advice. trust me, no one can understand this TTC journey better than those involved.

Been TTC for about 9 years and we have done IVF, IUI, Myomectomy, Varicoceletomy and yet we are still waiting in God's waiting room. i surely know our miracle babies cant be denied of us and we shall bring them forth.

was at my all time low on Thursday night when my husband did a SFA and the result showed Zero Sperm Count. I couldnt help but break down in tears and cried myself to sleep. We have been through so much both financially and emotionally, it seemed as though all hope went out through the window when he told me about the result. to think we were considering going for another IVF session soon once we are able to gether the required funds.

Does anyone know a RELIABLE Herbal remedy to use for this ailment? has anyone passed thru this same condition and overcame?

This has really weighed me down in the past few days.

will appreciate any info that can help. Please send me a direct message or email goldenwura@live.com for suggestions.

thanks and i pray we all shall receive our testimonies in Jesus name.
