Government looking for businesses they can loan money sounds very stupid, why is government owned businesses not working?
He’s just talking about sharing formula, fighting corruption to do same corruption in a different format

Work on electricity

Put effort and work force in government owned facilities
Focus on creation of employment
Direct money massively on agriculture
Show transparency to the citizens so we know where we’re losing money and patch it up

I think he meets all listed above

Mr President, you said you have saved in this few months over a trillion naira from fuel subsidy.
Use it and start work in the refineries.
Leave all this talk about loan facility to small and medium enterprise and palliative to the poor of the poorest, it's all an avenues for further stealing and enrichment of the same privileged few that benefited from the subsidy regime and the paddy paddies in corridor of power.
None will get to the poor.
You can't sit in Abuja and the know the poor household in my village.
Make refineries work for local fuel production and economy will improve on its own.
thank you nobody with agbado brains will understand this, they are all dumb just like their principal and the one before him,

Sad really sad same mistake Buhari made
Same mistake..

Government has no business giving out loans to people that can't work corruption would eat 80% of it... I don't know why they keep doing this maybe they actually want to eat from it

You want to spend 50 billion do cultivate rice? Fine... Make this money available to banks at say 3% interest rate Banks loan this money to rice farmers at 10% ... Bank has to make sure the loan get to the right people to make their own profit

Banks know the real rice farmers

What is so difficult here... Why must u leave room for people to steal why?

I disagree with you, government can give loan if circumstances warranted it, US, UK and other countries had did that before, but sincerity matter a lot in process of implementing it from both government and beneficiaries.

why must it be grains palliative all the time, are there no other agricultural commodities to dole out to people? I believe this is like many other moves targeted at placating a particular section of the country, because not all Nigerians play premium on grains

1: What started this price hike in all house hold facilities and cost of living is subsidy. Then tackle the subsidy, make our dying refineries workable.
2: Dead woods: there are a lot of dead woods in the house of senate and rep, then reduce the number and reduce the salaries.
3: unemployment: Attract private investors that will build production companies in Nigeria which will reduce some numbers of unemployment
4: monopoly of goods and services; give more license to capable individuals that will compete and reduce the price of materials in the country.
5: encourage SMEs and monitoring teams.
6: reform an adequate and capable security agencies/ manpower that are capable of executing their jobs without fears and favours . And so many things that should be done.

Dollars will die a natural death of the country is productive but we borrow what to consume.

It is stupidity to claim that only a select few benefitted from subsidy, at the same time you still acknowledge that Nigerians are suffering from subsidy removal.

If only select few gained from subsidy, why are you talking about palliative? Common sense should have told you the poor also gained from subsidy, that's why they are suffocating now that it has been removed.
truth is what sets you free, lies will always catch up lies, it is because they are lying that is why they are not coherent, they think every body is dumb like their followers who has always been unable to see through them

Let us agree on one thing. The current sufferings of Nigeria is not because of forex exchange but because of fuel hike.

So, if a person creates a fuel/energy crisis, the first thing I expect is for him to tackle that same crisis. Anything other than this makes d entire speech a hogwash.

Baba said he will dish out billions to businesses, release grains n fertilisers, but Baba made zero mention of how to deal with this fuel hike. D only thing he mentioned was about 3k CNG buses, but if I am able to access loan to buy a CNG bus, won't I be a compound fool if I don't charge my persengers like a normal fuel bus?

Is it that across all d appointees, there is no one with enough brain cells to tell him that "look, Baba, if we can't give these people a single refinery, n we can't subsidize fuel, but we hv d 12th largest gas reserve in the world, n those gases requires almost zero refining, why don't we shift these people to gas?"

I don't want subsidy back, but why has Baba not come out to tackle the fuel issue right at its source? Why are they running from CNG or even modular refinery?

Who are the people that own shares in Dangote refinery and why are they hell bent on forcing fuel on all of us, even tho we have gas. And exactly how many of those Dangote shareholders r currently in government?

I did the findings on CNG at Nipco. ₦4000 of CNG will power your 4 cylinder car for 150-160km. A 6 cylinder conversation costs almost 500k. If they place CNG conversion kit on list of items not liable to customs fees, the price will drop by up to 60% especially in places like Lagos. From here, they can now say, Oya go n convert your car at half the price, we will pay d other half.

But over their dead body will they make policies that will directly benefit us because their stinking fingers are all over the oil money of this country n they will do everything to ensure we all buy oil.

Nigeria does not have a fuel crisis issue, what we have are just leaders who will rather feast on our blood than make our lives easy cos their hands are deep in our common wealth.

Say whatever you like about Buhari, but Buhari had tasted some degree of poverty in his life at some point, n even tho he later lived in luxury as a president he still remembered that life is tough on the other side n didn't bring this sort of hardship on us at one fell swoop. These people have never spent their money on fuel since they started their political career n their convoy didn't reduce with fuel hike, u REALLY think they know what the price of fuel is? What we have now na, "may God help us."

Tinubu's New Deal

It's terse, simple and straightforward, without the pretensions and coldness of official language. Someone said it's hogwash, direction less . Well, I don't share in your nihilistic sentiments. There is no point criticizing every government policy without giving it the benefit of the doubt first

President Roosevelt of the US after the 1933 elections that brought him to power introduced The New Deal to curb the socio-economic ravages that had reduced Americans to near- beggars in their own land. In more ways than one, Tinubu's interventions look like the New Deal of President Roosevelt. That's why many historians called it capitalism with subsidies, for there were many socialist interventions in the New Deal. Within years, running into WW2, the American economy, growing at double figures per annum, bounced back.

History belongs to those who break the rules. Tinubu is breaking the rules of humdrum, routine of political economy. Nigeria will bounce back! The crouching lion is about to pounce.

Kayyy:

So after the previous government budgeted around 3.5 trillion in subsidy just for Jan-June and were shooting our debts up to 77trillion naira,You will in your first month budget another round of trillions on subsidy, while servicing more debts, where will you get the money you claim you want to spend on your other programmes when you have used your initiative to reduce your earnings by using it to service further debts ? Also I guess you will still use your earnings and further loans to continue to defend the naira/dollar exchange rate ? And before You know it in 3-4 months if you in office our debts have moved from 77 trillion to over 85 trillion without any functional project on ground. And these are the people insulting Buhari , Jonathan, Tinubu etc ? When online you go find out say majority of these critics will crumble this country faster than the people they love to insult.

Look let's get it right the problem is not the subsidy the problem is the process of the subsidy payments there is a lot of inefficiency in the subsidy payment process which is what has given rise to all the corruption and leakage in the system so my own first focus will be blocking all those loopholes. We all know that the reported daily fuel consumption figure was inflated. We also know that there was significant smuggling because there was no tracking from the depots to the filling stations. These are simple things that could have been done to reduce the amount we pay for subsidy whilst tackling the corruption in the subsidy process.

So I'm quite sure that we won't use another 3.5 trillion to subsidize fuel. Also there will be a state of emergency declared on our refineries and everything will be done to ensure they come on line before December. Until we can secure self sufficiency in domestic production I will not remove subsidy because fuel subsidy was a direct consequence of fuel importation.

I think he meets all listed above
We’re far behind compared to countries that caught up with the list

It’s very simple but our government keeps trying an advanced formula of boosting economy knowing fully well it’ll fail, believe me just like fuel subsidy removal, sooner or later when our major source of revenues dries up, government would be forced to be more productive with its owned businesses leading to restrictions and new ruling implementations esp on taxes, equivalent to forcing more hardship on people

Let them keep wasting our resources, at some point natural balance will come fighting

The same old jargons that previous administrations have been regaling Nigerians with over the years is still the same he is regurgitating. Suffer till they kingdom come Because another administration will still come in a few years time to tell you the same nonsense.
We must understand that Nigeria exists solely for the benefit of the political class. The citizens are merely serfs that must be milked to feed the gluttonous ogres in power.
He didn't talk about the refineries and when they would be fixed. All they are harping on is that Nigerians must buy fuel at an expensive rate till Time immemorial.

Why is this Government not talking of production of our Providence free gift of oil.

Why is this Government not talking about revamping it refineries and refining our oil in land as this sector will help create huge employment opportunity, reduce the cost of PMS,AGO and DPK respectively.

Why are they talking about Agricultural production only .

There is something seriously wrong with the mental frequency or Nigerian leaders.
