Telstar: Nigeria had a great team then and would have reached the semis of the world cup if not some bad elements in NFA. I said it before and would also say it now. Rohr cannot take us far in international football. He doesn't possess the quality to do that.
Then Westerhof, Bonfere Jo and late Keshi often motivate our players. They never used the word average on them. In a battle, you have to motivate your soldiers. Of course |

Telstar: Watch the kind of football we played then and now, can you compare it? Yes, u right We had players who were ready to passionately play for the country, not really because of the money, though money is important. We had leaders and not boys We had committed pple and not some non chalant attitude guys. There was one match that I watched then, that oliseh was not feeling fine, I can't remember if it was dr Congo or so we were playing, before u know, there were gaining more momentum over us, trespassing our midfield anyhow, Na so oliseh that was not feeling fine take enter o, Meanwhile, his presence normalized the game and brought calmness to the midfield, I couldn't but loved him the more. But what pain me the more is the way he was booted out from the national team due to his outspoken and fearless nature, during the two thousands, Had it been, he oliseh, finidi babangida and some senior players were allowed to go to Korea/Japan 2002, at least we would reach the second round. Before I know, I dey see justice Christopher, efe sodje, etc in the team, while the most senior, experienced, rugged, fearless, technical player were left behind, very painful. Onigbinde is a ....... Don't let me insult him |
Okay. The name of the Senegalese player who scored that goal was Fadiga. But we equalized in the 85 minutes and later took the game to the extra time.
If such a thing had happened now, Nigeria wouldn't have come back to the game.
Why?
Them go say this is 21st century abi? |

Telstar: And you couldn't explain what happened? Nooooooo I knew they used juju, but how super eagles player removed it, is what I didn't understand, I lived around national stadium, surulere, then. I saw some of the players when they were leaving Na, I saw keshi live that night He was no longer playing for naija, anymore then. There was nothing like insecurity then, pple were free |

Telstar: You know before the match, the Senegalese boasted they were going to silence Nigerians in national stadium and that was in the Nations Cup 2000 quarterfinals.
They scored early in the first-half and we did everything to equalize but no way. We played everything we could to score and win the match but no headway. At a time everybody in the stadium lost hope but Jo Bonfere kept on pushing. You have to really give to the coach because he was mentally strong.
So, Laloko was also watching the team and he saw an object in the goalpost, immediately halftime, he removed the object and Nigeria later equalized at 80 something minutes. 5 minutes to go and later won the game 2-1. Julius Ahaghowa scored both goals. At a time the Senegalese stopped playing and later complained about Lakolo. Surprisely, he was later banned. Thanks, though I watched the match |

gbengress1: I can never forget this man's purported role in NIGHA 2000 against Senegal in Lagos. Senegal almost beat Nigeria before this man told Taribo and his guys how to spoil the Jazz brought by the Senegalese team. I heard Senegal used jazz But how did taribo and the rest spoil it? |

kenchop: True. There's a true story of a politician that year in porthacourt who threw big party and a lot of people came, an eye witness said he was pressed and needed to pee, so he wandered away to a quiet part of the big compound only for him to stumble on two people butchering a human being, like cutting the person up to be cooked , he was lucky he wasn't seen. He quietly walked away and left the party. The times are really evil now. This life sha |
