Most of these criminals don't understand the consequences of the nonsense they do. If you take these fools up legally, they will start begging and crying.

If you want to get proper redress, report to this agency below. As part of their Investigation, they will come to the shop with State government officials and armed security agents. Lagos no get time for nonsense.

I got to understand something. Nigerians are mean. By mean I mean Nigerians are very mean people. I have travelled across about 34 of the 36 states in Nigeria and northerners are about the only place where you'd find people with a little bit of honesty.

Northernees are the most honest people I have ever met in Nigeria too

Guy. Let's leave tribe aside. There are as much yorubas in computer village just as there are igbos. All of them are fraudsters.

Don't mind the id.iots with their stereotypes. Every time i've been to the computer village, the people that rush to me on the street are Yoruba traders. Few laptop repairs i've done there were done by Yoruba's in their tiny shops.

However, most of the big shops are owned by Igbos.

Every tribe in Nigeria have their share of fraudsters.

Who parts with 400k just like that when there's an option of pay on delivery? Some mistakes are avoidable. May all fraudsters perish.

The store owner would have nothing to do Abt it, than to discipline his staffs afterwards, cause if you come to my shop and allow my staffs to go get u stuff from another place without my concept then u are dangerous, everyone should accept their mistakes.. u could have speak at first with the store owner to let him know what u want.. when issue done come up before u want to involve him.. am so sorry for u loosing your money, but we have to call a spade a spade

I believe there are still a number of trusted people in NL. Is just that majority are among the scammers.

However to be on a safer place, it is advisable you use an escrow while dealing with a new person.

So sorry about your ordeal, I recently bought a new freezer from Alaba Intl market, I went to get something else, came back and found the freezer opened with the box, I was like did you open it? He's excuse was that he needed to confirm but I was like why not confirm when you were stocking your store, atleast do the testing in my presence, I told the seller he'll have to change the unit because I'm not taking this one.

He brought another one, asked permission to test it, I brought it home, found out the handle screw isn't there, another wahala as he has kept on posting my jnr bro I'm sending to pick up. Something I bought this Wednesday.

Why didn't you buy at Spar, ShopRite and other reputable store
Re: My Horrible Experience At Computer Village by McLizbae: 11:06am On Oct 07, 2023

I'm wondering why you're witholding their information when there was no resolution. Others can fall victim to this same wicked people.

I had a similar experience with LAPTOPWAREHOUSEONLINE a couple of years back. Got a PC from the man and after some months I complained of issues with the PC and then I took it to him. He refused to replace or refund me. In fact, while I was at his shop, he kept acting like I didn't exist. I had to bring my brother with me the following day. When we tried to confront him, he started calling people to go call thugs and he continued threatening me. I was about 23 years old.

I left there very heartbroken, no refunds, no apologies nothing.

I've found it's a Lagos thing. Lagos is forcing people to act wiser than God created them to.

Was it a brand new item you bought or US used?

I just want to believe they must have changed from their mean ways of dealing with people.

When I was in Uni, I once met an Igbo man who is a member of The Lord's Chosen reading his Bible in the shop. I thought the idiot would be a decent fellow, but he sold me a fake pressing iron.
I mean, he was wearing The Lord's Chosen apron and be still sold me a fake item.

Those guys are cursed with dishonesty.

Computer Village is a hub of fraudsters. The number of honest people there is really low. As a rule, I only buy my items from Slot, Oraimo, or from businesses that have a working website or Instagram page with a lot of followers. This doesn't mean they're honest but it goes a long way in showing they've invested in their image and will be wary of their reputation getting soiled.

As for your friend, why didn't he buy Starlink from the manufacturers. They will ship it down here. I am skeptical of any Starlink being sold in Computer Village or anywhere else. I'm even surprised it's the real thing. I was expecting it to be some fake replica with a sim card slot. grin

From personal experience, I tend to generally agree with what you have said here about Northerners. Mind you they can be terrible in other respects oh (religion, women's rights and violence being some) but in matters of basic business honesty, they are usually far cleaner and more straightforward than many others.
