Why the hell would anyone travel on a student visa with all the family.

You have to go alone first to establish a foothold before bringing your wife and children.

The thing dey surprise me o. The ones I know who did have postponed childbearing or have scholarships to depend on. How family go live on scholarship stipend dey surprise me sef. Thank God sha I don't have a do-or-die marriage mentality.

CaseSensitive:
I remember warning people a while ago to use logic before deciding to come to the UK, rather than the typical Naija's attitude of "We will cross the bridge when we get to it" No one is saying you shouldn't come to the UK but make sure you've paid your school fees in full before stepping foot on the plane and have some money left to sustain you for at least 9 months.

You CANNOT pay part of your school fees and believe you will be able to hustle for the balance on a 20 hours/ week job, especially if you're a solo student with no dependent but it seems people just want to get the UK visa by all means.

I've seen fully grown men and women beg for food, money and accommodation because they either can't balance their school fees or they arrived and realised there's no health care job waiting for them. UK is a hostile place to be if you're an immigrant and broke.
Hey man what would u advise someone with a fully funded scholarship (comp science) vs a remote job in Nigeria that pays 200k hybrid(based on Lagos) to report once a month… currently based in a cheap state ?

I also know someone that just moved around the time he stated, only did Amazon jobs for two weeks and got the same kind of job he was doing in Nigeria, which is the role of a hygiene manager at a flour production company. Not necessarily like he has two heads, but was just at the right place at the right time and they needed him and there was a fit. If that person was at a different location, I'm pretty sure the story would be different. This guy is literally the only contact of mine who isn't doing a dead-end boy boy job, or gaddem carework.

The OP has asked you advisors to link him to jobs if you can...he isn't asking for money.

The business generates 1m naira and above after expensis.
You can't just wake up and scale a business under a short run when all input are not variable.

you have gotten lots of good advice. If you like go and pack shit because you are desperate. And if you like return to Nigeria after wasting millions. Your destiny is in your hands

yeah we have been going.
what i observed was the population.

you... you hardly see no Nigerians unlike Asians. in school you have to first count 50 Asians before you see a black man.

i observed that the British don't too fancy university degree so they are not much in school
The whites are not interested in degrees but technical skills and experience, that's why most of their high institutions are filled up with with foreigners.

i have been in UK since 1 month plus. but getting a job as a migrant or new commer without UK experience is not easy.
in fact i have sent over 200 job application for cleaner, care assistant etc but all came with a sorry we have moved on to the next stage or you don't have uk experience.

school fees has to be paid. everyone here in tight corner... school has sent mail threatening to report to the immigration if school fees is not paid in the next few weeks to most Nigerians here.

no job, house rent is expensive.. going for 450 to 600 pounds per month.

travelling through student route is not really easy because you have to balance between work and school.. 'even at that where is the job as a new migrant.

Please if you are considering coming to UK for now.. please put on hold. the crowd from Indians, Pakistani, Malaysia, china etc is overwhelming.

it's not worth selling your home to be here.

i sleep in indeed and all this job site.. still yet nothing, bills mounting up.

all my colleague i came with are still with no jobs in other cities

after spending 13 million coming here with extra 3k dollars now almost exhausted chai

if u know you don't have full school fees, house rent for 12 months, upkeep.... running to 35m to 40m please stay back... stay back or apply through skill route.

Sorry.

Look for logistics work this season.

i have job that pay me 800 pounds.. from Nigeria. i have my dependant.
my thoughts was that i can pay my fees from that and use my 20 hours pay rent then anything my dependant bring will be surplus.

yes school collects fees like that.. for a start... maybe if things stay okay in next year u pay in bulk... just to calm them down

i understand that Nigerians dont like any negative stories about abroad.
that was what i and my flatmate who sold his cars and house was saying this evening.
that returning to Nigeria now.. that Nigerians will say he is lazy that he rather die here.

i am putting this here for those who thought that they can navigate their way if they come here and they can see job in weeks. its a lie... 3 months don't be surprised nothing. i mean even the care job where they pack shit from old people. the places don full

someone assured me that i should even sell my land.... if i come i can pay fees.... a got assurances from people then when i came they started saying different stories that i should.. keep calm. that uk is now hard
You had/have a 800 pounds job in Nigeria, I'm curious on why you left Nigeria.

Travelling abroad requires patience and perseverance.. that is visa sponsorship job is best..because once u get that..ur flight expenses, ur accommodation, ur feeding all are covered even as u are relocating with ur family whether they are 4 or 6...don't be in a hurry because others are traveling..most of people traveling abroad has someone already there that will make their living soft for that moment..i noticed ed u never did a thorough research before embarking on ur journey.. if u fail to plan before moving , u have already planned to fail when u get there..there are so many opportunities out there..but because u lack research method that why u are suffering there..u are saying they said u don't have UK experience, if u have done a thorough research theru will know that u supposed to learn some skills, do some courses that has CPD accreditation which UK standard since that's the country u are relocating to, arrange to CV to their standard..because u can access 15m u feel u are good to go .Oga wake up

imagine paying 5m for house rent after spending all your money in nigeria.

Why not go to agencies, depends what city you are in. If you were in bradford there are numerous warehouse jobs. You can do warehouse your spouse can do care jobs they dont require any skill or qualification at all. If u have strength you can do construction but I think you have to get a CSCS card, cant remember how much it cost tho used to be 35 quid. Try indeed, totaljobs, monster jobs or just search job agencies around you online. £500 rent is not too expensive, is it for a room or studio? Also dont shop at places like sainsburys or tesco or waitrose. Shop at Lidl or Iceland (food warehouse), poundland and co, that will save u some money. Always look out for deals like buy 1 get 1 free etc or even reduced to clear items. They have lots of them in the evenings pastry bread sandwiches etc

You can definitely get a job in a week , but don't worry any its Christmas soon so therell be plenty work. Go on gumtree advertise urself, do u have any handy skills? Try Amazon I think the agency that handles Amazon jobs is pmp. Amazon gets very busy around this time.. Go to bus garages asking if they need cleaners. Where is ur location. When u say dependent, do u mean ur spouse?

Before, they use to come and hunt for us .
Today, we are the ones willingly enslaving ourselves.

Travelling all the way for a 25 million naira education, when universities like Alison can give you that free to pay later at the comfort of your home.

Just because we're good at running away from problems instead of tackling it headlong.

Africans need to wise up.

Not true.

Location matters.

I bought one of my lands in 2018 at 3.2m with documentations and all I spent close to 4m.
As we speak, just 5 years after the land is worth 20m now.

I won't argue with you on the subject of depreciation but I will reiterate the importance of getting your property in a nice location, not in one remote bush in Ilaro.

We all know the answer to that question.

Don't tell people not to come to the UK because according to you ...Indians, Pakistani, Malaysia, china etc is overwhelming...

Tell them to come with that money they showed the embassy and the university before getting CAS and visa

If you have that money you will be focusing on your studies now and not job and how to pay remaining fees.

Exactly!! Clearly showing he overstated money he has. In my opinion they should be sending him back to Nigeria for the deceit. Na this kind people dey make the country put strict measures on migrants

That 13 million he spent to Japa to UK would have set up something tangible in Nigeria which if managed properly can grow in a space of 5-10 years into multi-million naira investment.

We have agro processing bisinesses begging for investments yet our youths keep rushing to pay UK government and their universities millions over certificate they might end up not using.. what really is wrong with Nigerians?.
Sorry, which agro processing businesses is dying of investment? I know that of cassava. Which other one has potential for value and future profit?
