Today, I felt like cooking and eating a meal sumptuous. But I remembered the Agbado and cassava paradox. So I said "Toh, let me buy and eat Agbado and cassava for dinner" I bought cooked Agbado and cassava from 2 Hausa human beings. My neighbor didn't realize what hit him when he saw me eating this strange meal. He gave an impression of a great surprise. He asked me what in the hell I was doing eating Agbado combined with cassava. He could not believe in his ears when I told him I enjoyed it. I really surprised him out of his calm. Previous to this incident that happened today, my neighbors know me as someone who cooked and ate good meals. So it was not far from surprising that I could eat this. All he could find to say finally was " I hope all is well" There is a chance someone reading this must have tried this food combination before. How did you like it? 1 Like

sageb:Sir, I don't want to mention the name of the church or the pastor. You know what kind of people we have in Nairaland. They may end up insulting the man and the church. It would seem as if I brought the man out to Nairaland to be mocked. I have had terrible experiences with people here who are always ready to insult anything church and pastor. So I can't try such again. Some would even say I am trying to advertise my church. Although I am no longer worshipping there. |

I remember when Akpanudoedehe was the first set of people who began a church here in Uyo at Akpakpan street. He was very strong spiritually that sometimes he could command the rain to stop and it would stop immediately. They said he was always very prayerful and was very strong spiritually. By the time I started attending the church, he was no longer a regular member, maybe because he traveled or was always busy. But we only heard of his exploits. People who started the church always spoke of the mighty moves of God in that church. When I started attending, I saw former governors and top politicians who came every day to seek for God's favor. At one time, IBB came, although he did not come for service but went straight to meet with the owner of the church in his house. Abacha tried to arrest the owner/founder because he prophesied that Abacha would die within a week. But when SSS came to arrest the founder during the church service, he walked into the midst of the elders, came out and walked into his car. They even open the car door for him. When he drove away, they all came to their senses. The founder later said God instructed him to walk into the midst of the elders, so that God would make him invisible by the aura of the elders so that when he walked out, the SSS people won't be able to see or arrest him. Just like he said, Abacha died within a week. Infact in those days, that church was the most popular in Akwa Ibom aside that of Reverend Uma Ukpai. Things happened which I witnessed and they were miraculous. |

Girls and young women generally are very strong physically. Men like assuming things. If you have not fought with a woman before, you have no right to say women are weaker than men. A woman has 2 hands and 2 legs like you. What makes you think you are automatically stronger than her physically just because you are a man? Someone said a man can beat a woman because he suppose to have more skills than a woman. Can you imagine such assumption. If you have skills as a man, what makes you think a woman does not have skills? That's how men would be assuming things and refuse to do the needful till it is too late. 1 Like |

Because the Bible says for us to: Feed the hungry, Give drink to the thirsty, Clothe the naked, Take strangers who are stranded to your house/provide accommodation to a stranger who has no where to stay, Visit the sick people and help them, Visit the prisoners, Matthew 25:34-40. How often do you practise this as a Christian? Remember that as Christians, we need to show love to people. |

Almost all the Christians I knew fled the state before the election. I will never forget how I planned to hide in the empty classes of Usman Dan Fodyio University Sokoto when the problem eventually start. The school is far from town in another local government area and was on holiday. If there is problem in town, the school would be safe because there is no way they can go there since it was empty and is far from town. I took the decision because I planned to travel 3 days to the election. But by then, all the luxurious buses were taken away from Sokoto because of the fear that the buses would be burnt down if Jonathan won. It was certain that any buses and businesses belonging to the Southerners would be burnt. So many Southerners left the state and there were no buses going to the south. My mom called and expressed dismay over my plight. So I took the decision to hide in their University. 1 Like |

Enemies of Jesus Christ should stay off this thread. I know some people claim to be Christians. But when they see any thread about Jesus Christ or Christianity, they would come and be attacking the op and the thread. The thing is that there are many enemies of Jesus Christ and Christianity masquerading as Christians. They curse pastors and attack any topic that centered on Christianity, pretending as if they are fighting to defend Christianity. But their true intentions is to cause confusion in Christianity and make people to hate pastors and Christianity. For example, they may begin to condemn this thread. An unbeliever who goes through this thread and seeing the so called Christians attacking this thread would think that maybe in Christianity, nothing is genuine that is why there is so much hatred, confusion and attacks. He would not want to have anything doing with Christianity. That is always the aim of those so called Christians who are always online to abuse pastors and everything in Christianity claiming they are trying to set things right. But their secret intention is to drive people away from Jesus Christ and His church. THEY ARE GIVING SILENT THREAT TO EVERYONE THAT IF HE OR SHE MENTIONS THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, THEY WOULD ATTACK AND ABUSE HIM OR HER. The truth is that so many of them secretly hate Jesus Christ and Christianity. So it is always painful to them to see any thread that glorifies or speaks about Him. They rather wish no one should speak about Him. It is a secret hatred that they themselves may not know they have. They may think they love Him, but there is a hidden hatred that they may not even know. I think I read about that hatred in psychology of the human mind. The hatred that you don't know exist. But you always find yourself attacking something or someone, sometimes believing you are doing so because you love the person. It's that hatred that sometimes makes someone to kill another person accidentally. Although he thought it was accidental, but during counseling and regression, he would be shocked to discover how much he hatred the victim. |
