Not that it's a bad thing, in fact it's highly commendable. But how do you do it in this day and age where everything is almost about sex.

Heard that gospel singer Nikki Laoye said on her wedding day, which held December 11th in Lagos, that she was a virgin bride. She and her husband decided to wait till after their wedding before having sex. Nikki is 30 years old.

Me I can't o, I'm sorry. I'm engaged to a hot dude and I won't do? Ha, life is too short abeg! lol. This my currently situation is even giving me nightmares, hahaha!

I'm absolutely not for casual sex, one night stands etc, but in a loving, serious relationship that's heading to the altar? Abeg, dude has to perform so we know whether to call off the wedding or continue as planned, lol

marriage at 30 is even too old for those olden day standards. she would have probably been banished to the evil forest for being 30 and husbandless.  tongue

Nah, I beg to disagree. Some people are really principled on that issue, have met someone like that and I found I respected her more. Pretty as Nikki Laoye is I don't think she'd have had a paucity of admirers as a single girl. It's really commendable.
But I agree there was no point announcing it. Then again maybe she just wanted people to give it a thought (as we're doing now) and be a role model to some single girl somewhere.

i think it was just totally unnecessary for Nikki to have publicised her virginity status but seriously i'd say a big kudos to have for having kept it that long.

Good for her, she's was amongst the privillege few. Cause some ladies stays virgin up to the age of 40,but still they find it difficult to hook up with mr right. I also wish men would stay virgins too, because its like been a virgin is exclusive to women only, which is not right at all. If as a guy you know in your mind that you are not a virgin,stop looking for a fresh virgin girl to take advantage of nonsnse.
