Lol. You know LeBron is the sweetest topic on TV and radio when it comes to basketball. That's what people want to hear. It's a business decision, nothing serious
But did Stephen. A really say that? Stephen. A has been on record saying that there's nothing LeBron can do to surpass MJ. This one fit be misquote o
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 11:06pm On Jul 23
Lemme break it down for you. KD has a title in this league, but it's not best player.
Giannis = best player
KD = best scorer
Curry = best shooter
LeBron = GOAT player
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 11:17pm On Jul 23
You see ehn, this is one thing I'll never accept from anybody. Giannis is better than AD in many aspects but defending is not one of them. I know that Giannis has a DPOY trophy, but AD could easily have won it that year as well. You might not say AD is a better defender than Giannis but he's as good a defender. This is AD that's a 3× blocking champion in this league o. Can also guard 1 through 5 like Giannis. Make we dey fear God na
Re: The NBA Begins by Patrick33(m): 11:36pm On Jul 23
steady986:Noted big bros..but i think they don’t give it based on blocks or miles turner would’ve won..AD is a good defensively player no doubt..but do you think he could’ve stopped that alley from book to ayton just like giannis did? I understand you my G but i just dey ask
Re: The NBA Begins by joshboo(m): 12:05am On Jul 24
How many dpoy's does AD have again??
Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 12:08am On Jul 24
If you take defense into account then I have Giannis by a hair.
Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 12:11am On Jul 24
Same thing happened with MJ especially in the 90s. I have heard talk of some journalists clearing their stories with him before they publish it.
Re: The NBA Begins by PDPGuy: 3:22am On Jul 24
Fun fact: Men’s Olympic basketball
African teams have won a combined 15 games, with Egypt leading the way with 6 wins. Angola have won 3 games, while D’Tigers, Central African Republic and Senegal have all registered two wins apiece.
Re: The NBA Begins by PDPGuy: 3:23am On Jul 24
Women’s Olympics Tournament Fun facts:
- D’Tigress have more players who stand 6ft or taller (Nine), than the US Women’s Team (Seven). In fact, D’Tigress and Canada are the joint tallest teams at the Olympics as Canada also have 9 players who stand at 6ft or taller.
- Pallas Kunaiyi Akpannah, Aisha Mohammed, and Elizabeth Balogun are the only D’Tigress players born in Nigeria
- The three tallest D’Tigress players - Aisha Mohammed, Oderah Chidom, and Victoria Macaulay- all stand at 6’4”
- Standing at 6’9”, Brittney Griner (USA) and Han Xu (China PR) are the tallest players in the tournament
- D’Tigress are the only African team to have won a game at the Women’s Olympic event.

joshboo:I no know whether na bad belle or he actually believes what he's spewing
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 5:12am On Jul 24
The best and maybe closest analogy I can think of though not entirely accurate in this AD vs Giannis is TMac vs the late great Kobe.
It's easy to dismiss TMac's lack of chips or playoff success but if you followed hoops in the early 2000s you would know TMac was no joke and there were legitimate comparisons with Kobe with a significant number of fans that would tell you he was an even smoother scorer than Kobe
TMac was also injury prone like AD but I struggle to believe he wouldn't have won at least two chips with a prime Shaq.
However Kobe is more like Giannis in mentality and intangibles. Talent is never enough, you need that mental toughness and grit which IMHO AD and TMac arguably more skilled players lacked
Think about it. You think Giannis would leave Milwaukee to go play with Lebron? He will rather chew roasted barbed wire. By 2019 people were already placing championship demands on a Giannis led team.
With AD people were talking about just making the playoffs. Even when he had Rondo, Holiday, Cousins just making the playoffs was considered an achievement. He's a full 1 and a half year older than Giannis, came into the league the top draft pick yet the bar has always been low with AD
Even if you argue he played in the harder conference well he had the chance to go to the 'weaker' conference and be a top dog and lead a team but no he chose to be Lebron's sidekick. Of course it paid off instantly but will he be discussed and his legacy elevated like Giannis is experiencing now? Hell no.
This is the difference in their grit and their mindset and it transfers to their bodies and how they look after it as well. Their mentality. One wants to bring a title to his city, the other happy to be Lebron's sidekick smack Dab in his prime
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 7:53am On Jul 24
AD very much would have blocked that shot. Don't you watch AD?
Ben Wallace, Dwight Howard, Dikembe Mutumbo, Rudy Gobert, Hakeem Olajuwon, Alonzo Mourning. Why do you think these guys all have multiple DPOY trophies? Their perimeter defense?
And yes, Myles Turner should have made All-defensive team at least once, but we all know these things are given in correlation to how well your team performs overall. And Myles is not a good rebounder for his size and that has affected his chances too.
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 8:04am On Jul 24
How many does LeBron have?
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 8:18am On Jul 24
Can we really say D'Tigress are the tallest team when their tallest players are just 6'4"?
Re: The NBA Begins by joshboo(m): 11:19am On Jul 24
Misquote keh! Saw the whole podcast.

joshboo:I recall Rich Paul chatting megedefegede that AD would have beaten the Raptors if he was on the Bucks that year and gotten to a chip. Make him do am without Lebron if e easy. Because you can't tell me he has done anything Giannis wouldn't have done if Lebron was a teammate
Re: The NBA Begins by joshboo(m): 8:19pm On Jul 24
Obviously bruv we all know the answer, just tryna get words outta his mouth.
Re: The NBA Begins by joshboo(m): 8:27pm On Jul 24

Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 1:55am On Jul 25
Lifetime NBA earnings: $140 million
After Tax Estimate: $70 million
Major philantropy: Donated $15 million to build hospital in Congo
That is just one project. There are many others, obviously you cant do this with salary money. You need a long term game plan.
Some other interesting ones to lookup
- Tmac (outstanding work in Darfur)
- Olajuwon (cautionary tale, almost gave to al qaeda charities without knowing, managing money is hard!)
For anyone interested, you can see the type of federal taxes Lebron, Mayweather, Tiger Woods pay here: https://www.propublica.org/article/the-billionaire-playbook-how-sports-owners-use-their-teams-to-avoid-millions-in-taxes
That is federal o, we have not counted state taxes. Its hard getting wealthy. Its even harder staying wealthy. Even harder still if you plan on philantropy. I would go further, but this is not the forum for such. Guys, everything is not about hating or liking players.
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 2:00am On Jul 25
Anyone see the twitter beef between Durant and Adebayo? I hope they get it together before tomorrows game vs France. If they lose, SAS and co will come for their head on this.
Durant needs to grow up. For real. Small issue on court e go dey tweet
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:11am On Jul 25
People are always quick to peddle rumors about KD especially when na negative talk...Why did this news not get traction? But if na bad news about the Slimreaper, you will see everyone talking and posting.
After the finals on this thread, people made several inferences about a KD/ Giannis beef! How KD hates Giannis, how KD did not congratulate Giannis..At the end of the day, basketballers especially superstars are competitors.
READ! READ OH!!!!!!! Then come and tell us what you read!
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:24am On Jul 25
Make una stop abeg! It is becoming tooo irritating at this point! Everyone is not wired the same fam! This constant expectation by everyone that he should conform to a particular norm doesn't fall well for me. They sang Happy Birthday for the man and it was not his birthday, he had a look everyone did not expect and because of that he is a bad guy! I am tired of these kain irrelevant things.
You guys did this same thing with Kyrie and I have defended him and every other person who is a leopard but has a different spot color! Infact, most people have even chosen to deny Kyrie his on court talent because dem no like him personality. KD is an adult, na him life outside basketball be that.. He has not killed anyone or done anything outside of the law.. You don't have to like it and he doesn't have to fit inside a box..
If social media was alive when the original dream team won the gold medal do you know the kind of stories we would have heard? Do you have any idea the storm Isaiah Thomas's exclusion would have caused if Twitter was alive then? Do you know the kind of wahala that would have brewed with Dennis Rodman in that team with other personalities? Do you know how many of Rodman's stories are untold? Make una chill abeg.
We all have personal lives with our own demons wen we dey deal with everyday..Nobody dey judge us for those demons wen only us know!
Make una chill!

For real. First of all, I watched the video and it was hella childish. OK Bam supposedly rebounded your make and instead of throwing it to you he dribbles to the perimeter to try and shoot. Now you don get another ball, you come tell Bam make e give you that ball take the one wey you hold, talmbout "I made that one".
I agree with Bam saying KD was trying to "little bro him", because KD wouldn't have tried that shiit with any senior player.
Instead make e stop there, baba enter twitter begin quote Bleacher Report, saying Bam gotta learn some respect. What fuckery.

Aus 15-12 Naija
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 9:32am On Jul 25
Offensive foul against Okafor
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 9:34am On Jul 25
Naija turn the ball over and Australia capitalizes for the easy 2.
Aus 19-12 Naija
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 9:35am On Jul 25
Australia have matched out intensity and stopped our fast break play which has caused TO's. They are also clogging the middle, thereby denying the penetrating offense
