Historically, Edo people are closer to Yoruba than Igbo - culturally, politically and otherwise. Even as far as to Benin republic their story of old speaks on it. Lagos state traditional name is an evidence to that. There is a close tie between Yoruba and Edo people. |

Ibeju-lekki is not part of Ijebu settlement, Parts of Badary is Ijebu and actually back in those days Ijebus held the control of the trades between the upperland yorubas and the british/portugeses. Badary was a famous trading point Based on what pops told me - Ibeju-lekki is part of Ijebu settlements in Lagos, But it seems you Aworis have claimed that as yours, like you claimed EYO, huh I don't really know how to make Ikokore but I know there's a special yam for it called iwora or something, The yam is purple-ish and they scrap it through a grater, They cook it with palm oil and other ingredients, Mum used to put a lot of fish, shrimps and all sorts Proper Ijebu merchant inna da house, dun know, Oriki Ijebu, WE'RE THE RICHEST AMONGST THE YORUBA PEOPLE AND WE'VE ALWAYS BEEN, EWESO!!!!!!!! |

I think I should post my pics, so people can stop bickering about which tribe produce the best looking guys in Nigeria No tribe comes close to the Yoruba tribe - I'm not a tribalist, and I could care less about tribe, As for the girls, I have seen a lot of nice Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa girls - I can't really say which one is better, All Nigerian girls are the same to me - Nigerian girls have big bosom - but overall East African and South African girls are the best looking girls in Africa, I'm not saying I'm right, I'm just judging based on what I've seen - but I still prefer my "always playing too hard to get" Nigerian girls to other girls As for the guys, Yoruba guys all the way, there is no competion, |

edo.girl: So to conclude, it appears that Edo people are further away politically from Igbos than Yoruba. Then again, it probably doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out, hehehe |

ekt_bear: It wasn't so in 1966 just before the coup that changed everything. NCNC once owned the midwest. It can be that way again in the future. It all depends. Don't let ACN governorship of Edo today fool you. |

Southern African girls got nothing on west african girls. Senegalese, mali, guinea, Nigerian girls give them a run for their money I said: "based on my opinion!", I judged it based on what I call BEAUTY - which include BIG BUM and BOSOM, The only West African girls with those qualities are Ghanaians, Gambians, and Sierra Leoneans, Maybe, very few Nigerian girls, Naija girls have big tits but they're money grabbers, As for the other West Africans girls - their faces don't do it for me, East African and South African girls have some of the biggest BUMS known to mankind Burundi, Uganda, Zimbabwe and South Africa - all I can say is wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow, But I still prefer my Naija girls - and I have only gone out with Nigerian girls, They're relationship types, and we can relate on a lot of things, But for pleasure - I prefer East and South African girls |

Re: Myth or Reality: Yoruba is closer to the Edos culturally than the East is. by ektbear: 11:49pm On Feb 04, 2012 |
Is this true? Was NCNC popular in the non Igbo parts of the Midwest, PhysicsQED (or anyone else who can answer knowledgeably about the Midwest at that time)? Awolowo won Bendel in 1979 as well, if I am not mistaken. With the Igbo parts of Bendel now in Delta State, there is pretty much nil chance of Edos ever forming any political alliance with Igbos (well, at least given what we know now. Certainly things could change in the future. . . ) |

Onlytruth: What political 1966 are you talking about. Did 1966 change the use of OBA word in benin? Did 1966 changed the name BENIN(not an Edo name)? Did 1966 change the use of Yoruba names buy BENIN people? Go dig up history You will see Edos and Yorubas are culturally mixed. |
Re: Myth or Reality: Yoruba is closer to the Edos culturally than the East is. by Nobody: 11:56pm On Feb 04, 2012 |
@Onila Any clown can post the pics of a couple of good looking Edo girls, we're talking about the percentage of good looking ones, I don't want to see faces because face can be deceiving - can we see their full body Almost every East African or South African girls has a BIG BUM, But I have seen Naija gals with BUMS as flat as Oyingbo BUM, trust me, But I don't mind as long as I can get some Jellof Rice and Pounded yam off them - I'm happy |
