The award is skewed to favor Messi. All those Spanish speaking journalists would always put Messi ahead of any player in a year he manages to win something(tangible or intangible).

Messi has a much bigger profile than Lewandowski and only one country speaks Polish language. Letting about 200 journalists from all spheres of the planet decide this award is the reason why it’s shit and has no credibility.

Messi can keep the award but football purists know he didn’t deserve it in 2010, 2019 and 2021. Lewandowski has outperformed any other player in the last 24 months……….and that’s my final say on the matter.
