Eph forget that once u are good u are good, take Marco Silva for example he couldn't save Hull city from relegation but clubs are seeking for his signature.....

Tell me which sane club will allow an egomania like Roy keane to coach them

bruh you know good stuff,I always told peeps after watching 3 games that even of hull relegated, clubs would still get Marco Silva...that man is a fvcking good coach

the testimonial reference was a cheeky sling, he certainly had a testimonial game.

thing is he's always taken shots since he abandoned the club midway through a season fully knowledgeable that the club had no replacement at the time, he had hoped for a collapse engineered by his jumping ship and probably Sir Alex prostrating to have him back. None of that even remotely happened to his dismay.

He lambasted 'below average' Darren Fletcher to bits, the same man took up his position and anchored, alongside Michael Carrick, title wins to his utmost embarrassment. he's not constructive in his criticisms of anything connected to the club and it's easy to smell the grief.

he has beef with both the club and Jose Mourinho. I remember quotes of him saying if Jose Mourinho tried shaking his hands before the game was over (as he always did when he won his last league title with Chelsea) he'd punch him square in the face. annoying character from Jose Mourinho, yes but Uncle Ade, that's personal beef.

After the match in which Keane criticized Fletcher amongst otgwrs, Fletcher shut him up to net the wining goal against the then all-conquering Jose mourinhos Chelsea the next match. The team, at that time was in fourth when Keane left, and have been knocked out of the champions league group stage by Benfica, Fletcher took over from Keane and did well, he then got injured, Fergie have to draft striker Alan Smith to Defensive Midfield, when Smith got injured against Liverpool in the FA cup , O'Shea was drafted there till Fletcher returned to finish the season in second, wining the league Cup, Keane left us when we needed him most, inexperienced Ronaldo, Rooney and Fletcher needed mentoring from him as the captain, and I remember Clearly also that Paul Scholes at that time has an eye problem that put him out of the season, so out midfield was bare but he left, that team came back with only Carrick as the addition to win the league for 3consecutive years as well as the champions league. Keane doesn't have any moral justification to give any advice, he has been bitter since then, he waits only to take a shot at United. He should mess off. We don't need his opinion. The team has achieved it's season objective and that is all that matters what Keane and his likes say is irrelevant.

So how do you know the aims for the season you stated when Jose said with his own mouth the aim was to win the league?

eph12:

On paper, United and City were expected to run away with the trophy last season. Every football pundit or analyst shared same sentiment before the season kicked off proper. Of the top teams, we were the real contenders and others pretenders alongside City.

grin

We were expecting JM to win the League because on Paper the Squad is fantastic with a great Manager - We were optimistic.

However, it wasn't the same on the Pitch when the Season began, and were so stubborn to be realistic.

Yeah I don't expect Pep to. Same with other top coaches around but I wonder what would happen if we take away the money from some of them top coaches

I am not among those that worship pep, but he together with Jose have paid their dues as top managers, Keane could not cut it anywhere that was why he has not been allowed to manage any big team. Most of the big managers we know today have done well to deserve there promotion to the big time hence the amount of money given to them, pochetino transformed Espanol from relegation fodders to European football, he did same at Southampton before spurs came calling, Ferguson lead Aberdeen to break the old firm club Scottish league duopoly, and won the old European Cup, defeating Real Madrid all with little Aberdeen, after that he lead Scotland to their first world cup before United employed him, Wenger won Ligue one with then unfancied Monaco.

Now coming to the 2 examples people are lazily labelling cheque book managers Pep and Jose, for all I know is just a farce .
Pep joined a Barca team that have not won Laliga for 3 years running, he started by promoting Pedro and Segio busquets bringing back Young pique from man u for only 5 million euros. Let important senior players like Ronaldinho, Marquez,Deco, thuram, zambrotta and van bommel to go, bringing in Dani Alves, we know what happened that season....wait! Before you start listing the players he have, xavi iniesta and Messi, but he integrated them fully into the team without spending much. He won the lot.

Now Jose whom many try to criticize even if he raise the dead. He started as a full manager at relegation club Union liera, just like Keane, and finished comfortable mid table, then Porto called him due to his exploits, at that time Benfica where champions, he lead Porto to league, cup and UEFA cup treble in his first season, the following season he took unfancied Porto to win the champions league as well as the league again without spending millions, this catapulted him to stardom, he KL left for Chelsea and won EPL in his first season with the league Cup, with record points not equaled to this day. He repeated the same a year later after Fergie outfought him the next season(who won't be?) He was sacked by the Russian(Scolari and Ancelloti suffered the same). He left for inter that has been in the shadow of Juventus and ac Milan for decades and won the seria A at first attempt. During his second season he lost his best player and top scorer Zlatan to Barcelona in a swap deal involving Etoo, inter received about €45m, he brought pandev and Lucio for free, he brought Diego milito and Thiago Motta for a combined fee of 17m pounds. Then promoted Balloteli, he won the treble, league, Copa Italia and the big one. Spending almost nothing and gaining 45m euros. Have you seen that Jose doesn't really spend loads of money everywhere he goes.
So if Keane want to be given money as you are imagining he should prove himself

So the squad that was supposed to be better than the rest all of a sudden became poor?

Anyways let's hope for a better outing in the league next season.

Mourinho have proven that he is a winner everywhere he goes. Even this current Madrid team, he converted it immediately from a round of 16 exit team to the likes of Lyon to UCL contenders, he also won Laliga in the midst of peak Messi, iniesta and xavi. He won the league on his return to Chelsea, so what is he proving again? It's just like telling Fergie to come back and win all the trophies he won to prove its not luck. Is that not a stupid talk?

You should know this is a lie. Madrid would not send in a bid for a goalkeeper while they have a final, a UCL final for that matter in 3 days time. They will be unsettling Navas and the last thing that should happen now is to make Navas unsure of where he belongs. So they haven't made a bid, just some click bait news.

Guy, e no go easy ooo. But considering what Moyes and gaal put us through we had to call this season a success.

God forbid...if Mourihno fails (and gets sacked), we would probably also have to "forcefully appreciate" whatever little success his replacement achieves (even if he clearly falls short of expectations) and alas - the vicious cycle of Mediocrity continues, despite the huge investments...

If we continue to use the disastrous regimes of Moyes & Gaal as a yardstick to rate our manager(s), (I no wan know if na on 1st season basis or not), we might be in for a long thing.

You need to understand that fergies era is gone and we most likely night not be as domineering as we used to be also considering that other teams have stepped up.

This is not the burndisleaguedown where we know Bayern will win 8 out the next ten seasons to come.

This seasons was far better out of the 4 seasons we have had after fergie and as such was judged a success, we are not where we want to be but there is improvement. That's the point am making. And you make it sound as if Moyes and gaal never happened. Whether we like it or not they are part of our history.

Maybe you expect that we should have won the league and CL for next 5 season post fergie, Well that would your expectations which is fair, but i Think we can only go up from where we are now.

Keane is a bitter tool, he can keep on ranting.

Atletico Madrid have had their transfer ban upheld. Meaning they cannot sign/register any new players till January 2018. I don't think this will help us sign Griezzy if we're after him.

Also Lacazette coming to the premier league.

This throws a fat spanner in the works. It means Greizmann may not leave, but that would be for love of the club rather than anything else. Secondly Lacazette deal may be off or he could sign and be registered in January. Thirdly Oblak leaving Atletico stories are off, so one more keeper linked as replacement should De gea leave off.
