Fact is, you can't discount Matic's experience and Fred's mobility. McTom is not anywhere close to these two players. He is very calm, I agree, but he needs some time.

@1st paragraph, I can't remember reading anything like that here though.

What is the usefulness of Fred's mobility when he has an awful first touch? Always losing the ball even when not under pressure and in dangerous places?
Matic, the less said the better.



Not hyping but as it stands now McT is very close to what those two can offer if not better but again he alone CAN'T solve our midfield issues.

That is what most people here don't know, he doesn't talk down on players just to express his displeasure or to tell them they are not wanted. His actions do the talking. Ole never fancied Lukaku, it was evident last season, but you won't see him say it. Even Lukaku himself knows, that is why he decided to leave.

Oga, I am calm! I have not in anyway exaggerated our win today. I also said we didn't play particularly well today in the middle of the park and there is always room for improvement. I thought winning ugly was also a hallmark of a Champion and doing it against your rival is a statement of intent. The defense has actually improved on the field of play not on paper, so hopefully the other depts will get up to speed real soon.

I am one of those who want Pogba to be sold but to be honest, we can't sell him now as their is no replacement for him in that team. he is still one of our key player but could be very stupid at times. I pray we hold him still the end of next season when we can buy a solid midfielder. we need at least two Midfielder in that team.
The only good thing about today game is that we won and our defence has improved. Our midfield was woeful while our attackers were clueless at time and uncoordinated.

That's why when people get agitated that baba is not canceling players in the press and he's all smiles, I just laugh. He is not under any illusion that he has the squad he wants but bringing in new players is out of his jurisdiction. He will just have to manage what he gets and try to keep the squad together. No need blasting anybody in the press.

Exactly. Thing is we don’t have a decent backup at the moment. That’s probably why OGS didn’t want to sell Rojo. We might have to fall back on him for the season.
