I have watched in total dismay, the rate at which this site has turned into a tribal war site due to the rising belief among Nigerians that a split up of Nigeria will automatically solve Nigeria's problems.

Well, I have news for you, Nigeria will keep spiliting into many tiny countries as long as the root of our problems remain in tact because we will still be stuck with the same evil breed of politicians who wll continue to sponsor more groups like they have been doing with MEND, boko haram, OPC, etc. More groups will continue to spring up from no where in our new countries! cant you guys see that!!!!

It is well known that the use of fear can be a dangerous weapon in the fight for heart and mind. It doesn't matter how many pieces they split, the main point is any where each people find themselves, it will be based on their choice. Its not a question of number of size of area, Andorra in Europe is less than 50 thousands people, still they exist side by side with giants like Germany. It may be the same politician but it gives the people more chance to be closer to them, than the present far away land in Abuja. Let everyone go and manage their own politicians and corruptions. No more using ethnic card as defence, whenever they are caught stealing etc.

Let me break it down, look at the west, let's pick lagos as a case study. We have the Ijebus and Aworis at each others throats on the issue of who the real settlers are. Imagine Nigeria breaking up, wont these groups also fight for who should govern over them?  Would an Ijebu man vote for an Awori man for president?

When we have western region as a regional power, why didn't we have the same fight you talking about, but even we have, then it the problem of the those involved and them alone to settle it. No more Abuja interference in the matter that doesn't concern them, no more Abuja imposition of puppets. This problem will no longer afffect Hausa, Efik or Igbo but those involved.
Let's look at the Niger delta region, we are all aware of the age old beef btw the ijaws and the Itshekiris. How would they cope with leadership if that region becomes a country?

It shown you knew little about Nigeria. Akwa Ibom, cross River use to be in the former Eastern region and record shows that they are the most peaceful in that era. Ebonyi can fight all they like, its not abnormal that people even when close can fight, people fight their own brothers everyday, wife and husband fight, but the difference is in the end they will realise the blood link and made up. You really believe that Boko Haram will made up with you in a thousand years? Y ou seem to contradict yourself by using India as an example, not knowing that the economic powerhouse India is today is because they are not tied down with Pakistan or Bangladesh. Based on what we are seeing today with islamic militancy, can you just imagine the scenario where India and Pakistan is one country govern from one source? Can you just imagine a general election in such a country with India, Pakistan plus Bangladesh in it. Who do you think each people will vote for, if not the same scenario we have in Nigeria today? ethnic/religious sentimental voting pattern.

Look at Sudan, south sudan has been crying for 'independence from the northern part. now they have it. But guess what? Thousands have fleed south sudan due to fresh crisis in south sudan!

Again don't quote thing you knew little about. South Sudan had only just got independence, had to cope with the Sudanese hostile regime and blockade of their oil pipeline. Incoursion by the sudance militia. These are teething problem they have to cope with, along with thousand of refugee settlement. Give them time, but even that, they are happy as they are than the slavery life under the Kharthum government.

Yes we can still love and respect each other from own countries, the same way we love and respect Cameroonians. France and Britain don't have to become one country with capital in Paris to a British man to show that they respect each other.

That is the ONLY thing that can bring lasting solution to our problems! Where there is love and respect, people will start considering others in whatever they do or say. when this happens, corruption will die a slow but steady death which will then pave way for better governance.

Even in the next hundred years, Nigeria, still based as it today will still be as it is today. You think Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Fulani etc will wake up one day and start to love each other? An Igbo man will not give a job his brother is not qualified for? That Yoruba will start voting a non Yoruba in an election a Yoruba is top candidate? That some one from Katsina will stop saying that the Oil in Nigeria delta flowed down from the land into the delta? Dream on.

Look at the U.S.A, if there is any country in the world that should be having 'tribal' problems, it should be America because she has an assortment of not just different RACES but also different NATIONS from all over the world. there are also different religions such as Christianity, islam, Jewism, Hindu, etc. This is because there are African Americans, Asian Americans, European Americans, etc.
But do you see a New Yorker thinking that a Texan cannot 'rule' him? Hell No! why? Because although they may use different platforms, Americans generally speak up with ONE voice! they are together, they are united. do a research and you will see that is why they are still the most powerful country in the world.

My instinct tells me that breaking up Nigeria will be one of the biggest mistakes ever made in history, and believe me, its almost always correct!

This another wicked example some still spews out each day. U.S.A cannot be in anyway if you know your stuff, to be used to represent the Nigeria question. U.S.A is purely a migrant nation, while those that make up of Nigeria are indigenous people, who had lived there thousands of years before the European came. Why was Nigerians recently deported in their own country?
Is it not because those the feel that they own that Nigeria right from from their ancestors felt that the deportee doesn't belong, event hough they are Nigerian? Going by your own example, where have you seen someone deported from from New York, because he is from Florida? And Why didn't the Nigeria federal government kick off a fire over it in stead of its holy silence? Why not use Great Britain that created Nigeria-why did they allow Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales to have parliament with power to raise taxes, formulate health care etc agendas? Every Scot is a free as a birth anywhere in the U.K to do anything, but despite that many still want an independent Scotland. This is coming from those that created Nigeria. No one abuse them or harass them or worse deport them from non Scottish town, but they are granted by law the right to have a referendum where they will decide right from Westminster seat of power. People like you who are reaping like vulture from the state of Nigeria should be using fear and lies to seduce who care to be seduced.
