Good. I'm happy that Igboland is finally showing her wealth. Soon it would be Enugu and Ebonyi. Basically ALL Igbo states are rich in oil. I hope that is finally laid to rest. |

One_Naira: My broda I hear you o. Nigeria and justice are mutually exclusive. They are like oil and water. That is why it must be negotiated and settled so that we can move on as one, or disintegrate so that everybody will answer his own name. The fact is that current system must cease to exist. ASAP. |

Re: Anambra Joins Oil-producing States by Nobody: 6:03am On Feb 18, 2012 |
Onlytruth: my brother I hope its not because of oil that we have to disintegrate. Personally our reason to disintegrate should be on the marginalization and how hausa ppl slaughter igbos. Atleast if you have your territory and respect yourselves other ppl around will surly respect you. This oil is nonsenseoo!! Anambra ppl needs more of innoson, achebe, soludo, iweala, ibeto, chimammande, anyaoku etc I hope we shouldnt lazy for this natural stuff on the ground. |
Re: Anambra Joins Oil-producing States by OneNaira6: 6:11am On Feb 18, 2012 |
Onlytruth: Exactly until then SE should keep everything resourceful about their states hidden. Some of una praising over Anambra joining oil-producing states and clamoring for Enugu joining it, should take a very close look at oil-producing states in Nigeria. Do una really wish that for SE? |

Questions 1) Has NNPC been dismantled? 2) Who pays for the Negative Externalities of oil production to communities in Anambra? 3) Can Anambra now use this wealth to develop its transport network i.e. Road, Waterways, Rail and Air? 4) Can Anambra develop its cities as specialist places for specialised industries respectively? 5) Can Anambra rural area get a make-over of town villages with small scale industries and sales / home agricultural model jointly for all rural families? 6) Who controls the oil revenues? 7)who controls the oil executives and politicians? These are serious areas of contention. |

what is the quantity found. can it be sustained for the next 20yrs. I am happy that oil is being discovered in more states. this will increase the voices calling for fiscal federalism. One day 75% of the money made in the Niger Delta will be spent in the Region. |

PROUD-IGBO: My brother, I am really beginning to think that we Ndigbo are yet to understand how wicked some Nigerians can be. Don't be surprised that past presidents knew about all these oil fields in Igboland and simply sat on the files, hoping to tap it from the ocean floors. There was a report on why there is deep gully erosion in Igboland pointing at this possible link between shitfing oil and the erosion. So, they tap this oil elsewhere, our lands are devastated, we get the least federal allocation and everybody sings kumbaya and One Nigeria! If we raise a voice, they call us names, or even kill us. Our leaders are sooooooooooooooo dumb and too clueless. The level of wickedness I have seen from fellow Nigerians on this site since I come here has opened my eyes in a very big way. We the youths of Igboland must chase PDP out of our land because they are directly responsible for the continuation of this cheating. Methinks that this refinery in Anambra is because the governor is APGA. He is not under PDP control. Notice that the whole thing is almost purely private capital. No federal support. I strongly suspect that if Enugu and Ebonyi were under APGA, they would have started tapping their own oil wealth too. Nigeria, Nigeria, Nigeria! Na wa o! |

Re: Anambra Joins Oil-producing States by Onlytruth(m): 10:33am On Feb 18, 2012 |
phreakabit: Bros, I tell you, if Nigeria is coming apart, nothing on earth can stop it. Do you really think they didn't know all these while. Frankly I blame our politicians and leaders for allowing this cheating to go on. They are ALREADY tapping this oil from the ocean. Our leaders keep quiet while our lands are ravaged by erosion. Believe me, the greatest thing is that this is blown wide open for all of us to see the truth. It won't stop our leaving if we are determined to leave. |

AK, nwanne mu, I saw the team yesterday @ the Fed. Secretariat Awka before they headed to the refinery site in Otuocha with the governor. Well will try and visit the refinery site anytime today or tomorrow after church service because its about 30-45min drive from the state capital Awka. Hopefully to get some snapshots of the level of work there, the last I visited the site early last year Julius Begger and RCC were seen working @ the refinery site. |

This is a strategic working document from my ministry concerning the projects: Refinery, Int'l Cargo Airport, Ind. Estate, Residential Estate, Hospitality development(including five star hotel). The above projects are all ongoing at the moment as the contractors are working round the clock to deliver before the Refinery takes off soon. Below is a statement from the MD Orient: "He also said the company had signed an agreement with Nerida International of Geneva, Switzerland, for the development of a housing estate in Aguleri, Anambra State. He said the project was expected to be executed on a contractor-finance basis, adding, him, “The housing project will cater primarily for the needs of the staff of the refinery.” Under the plans, the estate will comprise 54 buildings in its first phase, which also includes a police station, fire station, health centre, school, central business district, recreation/sports club and the estate management office." |

Oil producing state or not, the question is how is it going to affect the ordinary ppl? My village (abia state) has been on the list 4 long but noting to show 4 it, u guys are celebrating what u are not going to be part of while politicians are busy with thier calculators. |
Re: Anambra Joins Oil-producing States by PROUDIGBO(m): 10:57am On Feb 18, 2012 |
@ Onlytruth: thanks Bruh. What i can't fathom for the life of me is why they spend Billions of naira on oil exploration in the Chad River basin when there's oil in commercial quantities waiting to be tapped in the South East . Unless of course there's some truth in your theory of South East Oil extraction via stealth using oil fields in the far South and off-shore; stranger things have happened . |

1virus: The key to gaining government attention is to adopt the Niger delta youth style.vandalize pipeline, steal crude oil and sell it,buy arms and ammuitions, kill soldiers and in the end,an amnesty package is waiting for you with 65k monthly salary. |

Re: Anambra Joins Oil-producing States by chino11(m): 11:26am On Feb 18, 2012 |
1virus: Anambra is not Abia state, the fact that you guys are not feeling good economic impact its blameable on bulk of bad leaders produced in abia since 1999. Again Anambra is fast developing their own refinery which will even surpass the gains of just being a member of oil producing states. The refinery alone will create thousands of high net-worth employment for Anambra people, you cannot say the same for Abia state which does not have refinery, they only depend on crude sales without production and refining as being done in Anambra. Anambra people are already a hard working people who does not depend on Government to achieve anything, Nnewi is staring everybody on the face. Nnewi got to where it is today without government having to contribute 1N. Today Nnewi Anambra state has the only private vehicle manufacturing plant in Africa, it has good number of industries that produce car accessories ranging from car engine block, car battery even Cutix cable is the best now in Africa/Europe all are produced in Nnewi. Again Orient Pet. Refinery being an indigenous company with their Chinese/Japanese/US counterpart is another plus to it. Orient Petroleum Refinery website: http://www.oprplc.com/Pages/Default.aspx |

Beaf: i think 55000 bpd is a good start because by the maths, 1 barrel is equal 159litre hence 55000 bpd is equal 8,745,000 litre per day of petrol, if all oil drilling companies in nigeria do that we wont need to import refined oil |
Re: Anambra Joins Oil-producing States by ranlaen: 11:43am On Feb 18, 2012 |
Anyone actually knows how much oil there is before you start hailing a new dawn. The last 3 states to join oil producing are not pumping out much at all compared to what states like delta and bayelsa are doing. also orient is pretty unknown with a pretty poorly done website with spelling errors . mind you its either a smart move since its unknown and will be easier to handle then bigger names or there is not enough for a big name to bother to fight for it and leave it for smaller companies. I think the onshore oil is not really that much as compared to the offshore. |
