But really i hate T bills

Money invested in T bills can fund a lot of infrastructural development.

Over 5 Trillion of PFA money is in T bills.

Can you imagine?

5 Trillion?

This is discounting several other massive pots of investment.

MMF beats T bills anyday. You know why?

Your portfolio managers have information you can NEVER have.

Enjoy

I have some money in Stanbic mmf .
But they will deduct their management fee.
So, the interest is almost the same with TBills in the long run.
I hope you know that?

Please house, if I bought TB for 1m at 13% and I didn't wait until maturity before selling in the secondary market at 11% .. would I make a profit from the low rate?
Considering I sold about 50 days to maturity for a dull tenor(364) days..

Secondly, who determines the price it is resold, I or the banks..can I also influence this?

sorry for much qtns this early Sunday morning..
I became interested on seeing the news of govt selling TB 2day and at falling rate of 11%
..
Note: I have read some pages on this thread n learnt a little.. Thanks for understanding

I invested on TB and was debited with the investment capital but yet to receive the upfront interest.

Has someone experience this kind of delay in receiving TB 's upfront interest rate. I invested via First Bank.

Any necessary input will be supportive.

Considering I sold about 50 days to maturity for a dull tenor(364) days..

To break it down, i would gain 13%* 1000000=N130,000 as interest..
On selling 50 days to end of tenor, that interest will be reduced by 130,000*50/364=N17,857.14..
Meaning I would be left with=N112,142.857(excluding transaction charges).
My qtn is, where does the extra interest come in by selling at 11% in the secondary market?
Thank you..
Other experts can assist me on this, thank you.

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Sammybabelious: 3:35am On Aug 20, 2018
Good morning my sabi people,AKA gurus....
I invested on Tbills Feb 2018,for 91 days tenure.(primary market) it ended around may,den it was rolled over to this August.I sent a mail to first bank DAT I don't want it to be rolled over again,(am not in d state I did d tbills) dey replied I should go to any first bank branch n put in application to terminate it. Meanwhile it was on d eve evening of d tenure .(15/8/2018)so I went to d nearest branch d next day, unfortunately it has already been rolled over.16/8/2018
When I applied for it to be terminated, d in charge advice me to leave it ,because I will be charged high .so he collected my number DAT after scanning n is sending it to the branch and it been approve,he will tell me d amount I will be credited.
N.B.... I the money invested is 1.59M,so when he called d next day he said I will be credited with 1.48M.DAT 11k will be deducted ,just after 1 day,not even d interest, it from my main capital. I was shocked I ask him to hold on.
He said it was rolled over at 9.85%
Pls my question is ,is it for real,or he just said DAT to scared me.11k is too much na,I tot it will be around 2_5k.
Pls advice me on what to do. Am confused.
Am sorry for the long post
