aguiyi: testing an indicator is similar to testing an ea.
open strategy tester and follow this steps to test any indicator whether sold or free and find out whether its worth ur stress in a live trade senerio before going live with it.

for expert advisor, choose anyone in ur metatrader
choose any currency symbol
enable date and choose any date you want it to start and end the test
enable visual mode and drag it to 29,30 or 31 for better performance
do not enable optimization
click on start
you will see ur meter trader running like its a normal trading day
put the indicator you want to test on the chart as its running and observe the behavior of the indicator

Aguiyi, then how do we test an indicator with strategy tester because i tried what you said and it seems it is only for eas. PPls outline for indicators

He has not criticized wrongly, all he has said is very correct. I advise you should be patient, but honestly different people have different things that work for them. You should find what works for you, are you a scalper, day trader or over night trader? there is something for you. Please find what suits you. What may work for aguiyi may not work for you.

you can as well put the 5 and 50 in the trendalert indicator and use it on the 4h, your sl should be 10 pips above the trendalert arrow or till you see a counter direction arrow

Is the London forex rush still a valid indicator? If it is then id is the dumbest indicator i have ever seen. Not a single signal since the day it was installed on my mt4.

For me F9D1 is the bomb. Its the strategy that never fails if follwed correctly. Combine it with the Trend alert indicator and you become formidable.

Not good with the EAs so i havn't tried any of them yet, concentrating all my energy on the F9D1 strategy cos i don't think there will be any EA as good as it.

how are you using the fd91, its what am using but i removed other indicators to concent on ema 5 and 50 on the 4h.
ema 21 and 50 on the 1h and 15m is also promising

I used the london forex rush and it generated signals on GJ last week and they were correct signals.

Made some profit on it.

Its very easy to use and i kinda like it!!.

Guess its what i might be using for my GBP pairs.
