RULES- This is how it works; we have different contestants/representatives from all sections on Nairaland. These contestants are eligible bachelors/bachelorettes! Members (contestants inclusive) will display poems/lyrics/literary write-ups that they feel is eligible to win any of the contestants’ heart. This is to secure an actual date with the contestants. It has to be their own original and creative write-up. Minimum of 6 lines! We are not looking for the perfect writer/poet, so feel free to express yourself to any contestant, anyway you like. The contestants should inspire your write-ups and be your muse. At the end, the viewers would vote for the write-up they enjoyed the most. Elimination would commence after this has ran for sometime. The writers who survive eliminations would, 1) win a date with the contestant he/she admires 2) be put up on the poll to be voted for the coveted title, “Nairaland’s The Poet” "Type away! Express yourself as you deem fit, no holds barred!" |

My hate for love is overwhelming. Two lines won't exactly describe the feeling. It'd make no difference, if given more though. No number of words can achieve that goal.  1 Like |

@Cuddlemii, I am just seeing that you have been made Moderator here- congratulations. Let me see if I get you correctly, you are saying that those of us you listed can be the subject of any Nairalander's poem whilst we the "contestants/representatives" can also write poems about people we fancy? Tgirl4real is married O. This your thread is "interesting" to say the least. Hmmmm... me? I have a poem I wrote some months back but did not share on Nairaland. Maybe, I will share it on this thread for people to assess? I am not sure I want to "serenade" anybody here though. |

Cuddlemii: Ah! I am not shy about declaring affection but I have to be honest and not embarrass anybody. Like I said before, the poem is part fiction and cannot be said to truly reflect reality. You mean well but mentioning a name would not be fair because the poem would give people the wrong impression and I don't want to destroy this thread with unnecessary argument. This thread talks about a couple that are separated, I have not being in a relationship with anyone on Nairaland, so how should I mention a name? For people to think we were a couple when we never were? I posted this poem to share poetry and see what people think about the poem, let us leave it at that. |

Nice concept. hmmm . . . You want us to start declaring love openly abi? What if we don't know how to write a poem? What if we don't know how to write a love poem? What is 6 lines wouldn't just be enough? Welcome on board. |
