PointB: I don't know what the hullabaloo is all about. President GEJ is constitutionally empowered to seer re-election, and that is the crux of his admission, and should be viewed from the point of view. Shikena . . . |

Oath of Office for the President of Nigeria: I do solemnly swear/affirm that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria; that as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I will discharge my duties to the best of my ability, faithfully and in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the law, and always in the interest of the sovereignty, integrity, solidarity, well-being and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; that I will strive to preserve the Fundamental Objectives and Directive Principles of State Policy contained in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; that I will not allow my personal interest to influence my official conduct or my official decisions; that I will to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; that I will abide by the Code of Conduct contained in the Fifth Schedule to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; that in all circumstances, I will do right to all manner of people, according to law, without fear or favour, affection or ill-will; that I will not directly or indirectly communicate or reveal to any person any matter which shall be brought under my consideration or shall become known to me as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, except as may be required for the due discharge of my duties as President; and that I will devote myself to the service and well-being of the people of Nigeria. So help me God. ^^^^Nigerians need to start holding their leaders accountable. Let your voices be heard - the country belongs to everyone, not just the miniscule few looting your common wealth. This guy has been a total failure, and he needs to leave the place for competent people. You guys shouldn't let nepotism becloud your sense of reasoning and humanity. People are suffering and dying in that country. 1 Like |

Just because he can does not mean he should....if he loves his country..he would step down and let those who can both rule and effect positive change take over. |

Okija_juju: If Niger Delta think they deserve 8 years as well, why didn't they present a competent candidate in the first place? The country is getting more divided by day, and at this rate - do you think there will be a country called; Nigeria, in 2015? Fam, something big is going to hit Nigeria very soon, if you guys don't do something about this present administration. Just one thing will trigger the end of Nigeria. |

Billyonaire: When GEJ rounds up in 2019, we handover the baton to David Mark...... Personally, I would like that baton to be handed over to David Mark by 2015. The man seems a good leader - with the right combination of charisma, maturity, steel, and composure to steer the ship of state. We could argue he is part of the corrupt old-guard, but then the system isn't prepared for radical change, so we have to settle for the best among the worst. |

Jonathan is right actually. Afterall he's the president of Nigeria, the home of the largest number of dunce and laid back people in the world, why won't he make that statement. Now that he has said it, what will you guys do? |
Re: Jonathan: I Can Rule Beyond 8 Years by Nobody: 3:27pm On Jul 24, 2012 |
The truth is that he can rule more than 8 years based on election. He took over from the late president Ya'radua such is a factual evidence to his assertion. What are people crying over here? Haters of GEJ indeed! |
