Thank God ypou have used your hand to remind Nigerians that were not on Nairaland in 2013 how Fashola and his Lord Tinubu started the "deportation" of Nigerians from another Nigerian State.

Before now, they were all talking about how Obi sent some Northerners home, here says it all.

... but the truth is that there is no better candidate we can manage now better than APC. It is better to keep APC for now with other good things they have done right than to experiment incompetent and inexperienced Obi who may end up dragging us from frying pan to fire. Tinubu has more experience to change the narrative of current hardship because he is never known as pretender unlike Obi with many eye-services. Tinubu is bold and courageous unlike Obi that ran away from ordinary PDP primary to look for shortcut to Aso rock. Tinubu has been known to be creative and full of new idea to get things work unlike Obi that lacks creativity but gains eloquence and manipulative logic.

Tinubu knows how to grow wealth from nothing but obi knows how to grow poverty from wealth. Tinubu grew only ACN party to winning party and most populous in Africa, but obi grounded APGA to the same spot and abandoned it to other parties like PDP and LP without meaniful contribution from him to those parties. Tinubu knows how to face problem and solve it, but obi knows how to see problem and stylishly run away from it using logic and excuses. Tinubu knows how to get people to work at maximum capacity and can identify talents, but obi can kill talents and make people work at low esteem thereby resulting into substandard infrastructure under guise he is saving money.

I don't need to even compare that of PDP, it is worse for 16years; only areas they were good in sharing of public funds to themselves. PDP can pay one son of its chifetain N300 million for cutting grass for one day. They can share money meant to buy equipment to fight boko haram among themselves while boko haram hijacked many local government. Uncompleted infrastructures were common things in the era of PDP. It was difficult for PDP to start big project and finish it in one year unlike APC that completed many huge public infrastructures within reasonable time. It is not yet time to return to PDP, Tinubu can get many wrongs right where APC are deficient. After Tinubu we can then compare 16years to 16years to see which one is better.

Obi should pack aside first, he will only be doing trial and error in governance, there will also be too much infighting in his government because fragile LP will be facing two big oppositions without strong Senate and House of assembly members. Excuses will be too much for failure during Obi for under performance using fake statistics that will always generate uproar because he is good at using logic and seeking sympathy to escape justice. To me, it is not yet turn of obi, we can't call bricklayer when it is the turn of carpenter. It is the turn of Tinubu in house building, obi should relax first
That Tinubu is more experienced? Please lecture us, apart from the 6 months seat warming at the Senate, what other experience does he have in public service apart from being governor for 8 years, which Obi has. Obi has chaired the SEC, a National assignment which Tinubu has never had.

In the private sector, Obi has robust experience. So, please what experience exactly are you talking about. Is it how to do political hijacking that yiou are talking about, that I can give to Tinubu, unfortunately, we don't need people with such experience.

Tinubu is a-no- nonsense charismatic leader, a kind of "talk na do" Presidential personality. Under the Government of Asiwaju Tinubu, you have absolutely no reason to embark on a senseless strike when the state is giving you the best welfare package in the country. Tinubu will never tolerate any worker downing tool despite prompt payments of wages and allowances. When ASUU was trying to cajole Lagos universities into joining their strike, Tinubu advised Fashola to fire any lecturer trying to hold the state to Ransom and employ those ready and interested in teaching. Tinubu doesn't joke with productivity much less an economy as big as Lagos. You cannot engage in meaningless strikes in a state that has provided you a service opportunity bigger than federal packages. If Tinubu had been lethargic and laid back, Lagos IGR wouldn't have improved astronomically from a meagre 500 million to 50 billion unlike a Pandora fraud that couldn't grow the IGR of a small state like Anambra in 8 years, left them in poverty, took NEXT Mall out of Anambra state, invested state's funds in his family business and used state's funds to grow the networth of his bank.
And that is what it means to be Charismatic to you. Well, what do we expect from people that were justifying Tinubu's shying away of questions at Chatam House

Before asking those that came after him, we must ask him what he did towards the actualization of the project. This MOU was signed in 2010 and Obi left office in 2014. So, what exactly did he do to actualize the project in those 4 years? How much money did he commit to the project and what value did the state get from the money since there is no monorail or any sign of construction whatsoever?
For the fact that the man took the initiative and made the bold step by signing the MoU, it meant he had strong interest in see the project come to life. If he did't do it, something must have happened.

But, wait, when was Lagos rail contract signed, when did they start and why have they not completed it.

For the first time in our Political history that we are seeing a Presidential Candidate engage with the people very closely and not through those Political circuses. Today, politicians are weighing their words and promises, thanks to PO.
I think every Nigerian should really appreciate him for that, party loyalty aside. We are not where we were the last time. I am happy that I am seeing what I have been praying for, the emergence of a politician in the likeness of Kegame, who is simple and firm. Not the noisy and cosmetic ones that do campaigns with enhanced Pictures as if it is Mr Nigeria contest.

Have you not noticed that the candidates are even afraid of showing money, because PO has recalibrated the system. Doing money politics now is like no no no.

LOL! Brought up in Agege? What does that even have to do with anything? You thought you said something intelligent right?

Anyway, so why haven't those same factors that are not state govt interventions applied to other states? Again why has a state like Bayelsa with a high allocation and small population not experienced significant development? I've said it before Lagos has the highest real estate market in the country by far, that isn't a fluke. Over 70% of the real estate market share in Nigeria is between Lagos and Abuja with Lagos' share being over 50%. How do we not acknowledge the failures of all the other states but keep obsessing over Lagos which is leading in all ramifications even if underperforming? Other states compared to Lagos have performed abysmally
Abuja gives you an idea of what being the National Capital means in terms of FG influenced development. That was what Lagos benefited by being the National Capital for years and those investments were not taken away or left as responsibilities of Lagos as a State. FG still takes responsibility for most of the infrastructure the made in Lagos

But just to point out, you asked why other States are not making same interventions like Lagos. In actual fact, many States have even done better than Lagos. If you filter the achievements of State led intervention in Lagos, you find that is is nothing given the amount Lagos has. Take Akwa Ibom for example, compare their landmark achievements in the last two decades and what Lagos has done, you will be ashamed of Lagos.

Real estate? That's not the making of Lagos Governme t led by BAT and his acolytes. You should know that Lagos become a center of global commerce before Lugard went secondary school. That was not the design of Nigeria, let alone Lagos and even Tinubu. What drives real estate is liquidity. That is what Lagos has always had.

In terms of what government has offered in terms of housing, Tinubu and his gang have not even done have of what Jakande achieved in that area. Also, so many States have done way better than Lagos in providing shelter

Please provide the stats cos you can't just say I should go and look for some before and after pictures to compare. Can we compare in terms of migration, population growth, economic growth, investments, real estate market, infrastructural developments, social development.

My guy said ppl with brains and went on to say I should look for before and after photos. Lagos still remains #1 by far when it comes to housing market, then Abuja a distant second and it falls off from there. Mention one state that has eaten in Lagos' market share when it comes to that.
So, to start with, population growth is an indicator of poor development recognized globally. So, you have started scoring yourself. Also, to measure economic growth, how do we control for confounding in this case. So, how do we separate economic growth as a result of State government intervention and economic growth as a result of factors not their making.

If you do not have the statistics, then you lack the intellectual authority to speak on it. I will advice you to go study those comparison and them come back to make your defense. This is an era of evidence-based everything. This is just what most of you that were born and brought up in Agege, with little idea of what is happening other places, do. You can't be shouting Lagos is the best and you can't provide a good measure for comparison.

What other state in Nigeria is doing better than Lagos? And pls don't bring up the port argument or Lagos was capital decades ago debate. Why aren't other states doing better? You guys like to present Obi as the less of the evils we have when it comes to politicians, how about we apply the same logic when it comes to states in the country?

Bayelsa is a small state with a small population with relatively high allocation every single year, are they where they should be? Wike revealed Niger-Delta states were paid what they had been owed since 1999, what effect has it had on a state like Bayelsa? Shouldn't Bayelsa be one of those states ppl should be stepping over each other to go to?
Why don't you travel and see. Start from Abuja.

Let's do it this way . Compare the transformation that has happened in Akwa Ibom and that of Lagos, compare before and after pictures of Asaba between 1999 and now. Compare the before and after pictures of Abakiliki and compare the percentage improvement.

You need to be scientific in this, calculate percentage improvement from 1999 to date and compare Lagos with those of Akaw Ibom, Delta, Kaduna, Anambra, Gombe, Ebonyi and FCT. After doing that to know percentage improvement in areas like urban improvement, road construction, education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, housing, then you can then compare the income of these States with Lagos and put it side by side with the percentage improvement recorded by these States.

That's how people with brain reason.

If that is the case, you should not be here discussing where with people who are in control of their minds and if that is not the case, why do you think it will work in other areas.

Even before the coming of BVAS, you have seen incumbent Governors and party Charmen losing their States. Take Oshomole as an example, how did his being party chairman win Edo for APC. How did Muazu being Party chairman win his State for PDP. How did Rochas being a Governor win Imo for APC.

The Plateau Governor did not win his second term, he was rigged in for his loyalty then and the Loath the Plateau people have for him has even increased the more. The mistake you people make is calling Nigerian people Zombies that rely on some politicians to take decision or make political choices. What is happening now is that every politician wants to even survive the tide before saving anyone.

This was part of the first reply you typed to me on this thread.

Sir, just calm down. I see you are even confuse yourself. Or maybe except there are two different people inside you taking turns to make opinion.
So, what we are battling with here is the "urgent need" and "relevance". Even if you build ten of them in Anambra today, it will not take away the more pressing needs, though those can still be considered relevant needs. I hope it is clearer this way.

But you seem to be shying away to the main point here. How is second Niger bridge a project for the Southeast and not for Anambra/Delta and why have you not called Oweto bridge project for North Central and not for Nasarawa/Benue.

It is you who has chosen what to comprehend. First, I didn't question the relevance of the Bridge. Even Street like a project is relevant. I asked only one question,
- Why are they counting that project as if it is for South East, Not either Anabra or Delta or say for Both States, but will not count Oweto bridge for North Central and not for Benue or Nasarawa.

That is the point. Before the construction of this bridge you are questioning its relevance. Do you know this same igbos were the one complaining of the slow pace of the work. Making reference to how fast other projects embarked on by the FG was moving.

Few weeks ago i was arguing witth someone about re-developing the Eastern port to the level of the Lagos state when the port authority boss complained of theft and security issues as the reason for its degrading.

The truth is if FG decides to just not give a damn about all these, irrespective of the theft and security issue and whether they are making profit from it or not. And they continue pumping in money to re-develop the port, replace those stolen bouys worth over 12m naira each(about 12 stolen this year alone) , deploy more security personell and create or repair the existing roads for accessibility.

People like you will still find a way to downgrade its importance. You will still find a way to say it is a means by FG to continue to use the security agency to kill you people.

You Igbos act like group of people with an a very strange entitlement mentality.
on the contrary, people like you will continue to turn the table when Igbos try to question some things about governance in Nigeria. What is wrong with Igbos asking why the pace of work was slow. That is what is expected, it is called community oversight or community monitoring of government performance. You will not see it as right because Igbos are doing it.

Igbos are the easiest people to please, because they rarely depend on government. That's why any little government deliverable they appreciate it. The point here is, why do people see second Niger bridge as a share for the South East but will not consider Oweto bridge as share for the North central or 3rd mainland as that for the SW.

This talk about 2nd Niger bridge being a political dividend for the Southeast is really funny. For too long people have propagated the narrative and even some Southeast people themselves are beginning to think that it is a worthy reward. Here is the opinion of the Minister for transport when he was questioned on why the narrow-gauge rail-line was considered for South-east:

"Speaking further, he said that the pros and cons of the corridor, the narrow gauge would convey more cargos, adding that the only difference between the narrow gauge and the standard gauge was the speed.

Justifying his position that the South-East zone benefited the most, the minister said, “the Buhari-led administration constructed the second Niger Bridge that had defied all previous governments.”
Source: https://punchng.com/FG-will-borrow-to-fund-rail-projects-Minister

Let's be clear about this. I have not heard anyone using the Oweto bridge between Benue and Nasarawa to taunt the North Central People about what government has done for them. Did anyone tell South-west people that 3rd mainland bridge is their share of regional development. Why are people summarizing that 2nd Niger bridge is "gift" for the whole of South-east. Why is it that when it comes to the Igbos, people will shift the post.

The 2nd Niger bridge is a link bridge that will serve every Nigerian. Those dangote trucks will use them more that many people from the east. Also, people going to and from PH, and other South-South States will use that bridge, same with every Nigerian going to and from the South-East. All those coming to Nnewi, Onitcha and Aba markets will be direct beneficiaries of the bridge. There will be so many Igbos that will never be on that bridge and so many people from outside SE that will thank God for the bridge. If you are talking about those that are direct beneficiaries of the brideg, it will be Delta and Anambra States. People should stop sounding that the bridge will change anything in the life of Igbos. Yes, it will reduce travel time, but if you were to ask the Igbos to say what they want. I am sure that may not have been among the first three things they will mention.

Like I said, if you cannot count Oweto bridge for North Central. and 3rd mainland bridge for Southwest, people should stop talking about the Igbops and 2nd Naija bridge.
