Green and Miller having a spray-off literally!

Roland17: No team has played LBJ defensively better than the spurs are doing now, my God LBJ is struggling with his shots.
Lebron is tepid! Its like he knows the Spurs can stop him so indecision has kicked in! They've barricaded that paint area and Lebron just can't get in plus his jumper is all but gone

Lool bruv! Anderson is done!! Ninja struggles to complete games these days! 6 years at United and I don't remember him ever being rated among the elite midfielders in Europe. Sell him to Monaco and get Strootman,Koke or some other mobile, technical ninja
Nani is down on confidence so his case isn't beyond redemption there's still hope for him yet

Notorious B.I.G 2 Living Albums > Jay-Z Entire Life

2pac > Rakim Entire Life
Nonsense!! We are not talking about street cred nigga we are talking about success!! Besides people tend to over-exaggerate someone's greatness after they die!

Who is to say Biggie would not have fallen off if he didn't die? He died at his peak so opinions are always gonna be skewed in his favor!

Whaaat you talking about! How many albums of Rakim have you seen on the charts or anywhere? How many of his albums went gold never mind platinum

Peak Greatness > Longevity & Compiling

2 of the Greatest Examples of why Peak Prime Greatness Trumps Compiling & Longevity

2pac's Living Albums and Short Rap Life Trumps every Legendary Rapper who Dropped 8-16 albums and hung around for 15-20 years
Nooo you have it twisted on 36 levels bruv! 2pac wasn't recognized or mentioned in the discussion of GOAT till he died! Prior to his death he was still on the come up! Contrary to what you claim it was his posthumous work that made him an immortal! His insane body of work is what made him so great not a peak period as you claim

But Tony Parker,Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan played even worse than Lebron and the Spurs where still in it till late in the 3rd! Let's see how it goes tonight cos whoever wins has a 70% chance of taking this series IMO

ladeski: God bless you. Hes won 4 non-clay grand slams. 4 not 1.babanla all court player. Also he won all 4 defeating Federer or djokovic, not mai mai players
I don't know what these guys are even talking about he has a superior head to head record against all his main contemporaries (Federer,Djokovic,Murray) has won on all surfaces! Barring injuries he would surpass Federer

dammybravo: When you want to define greatness, longetivity counts a lot and how well you stood up to the competition around you, even when you are off of your peak, that greatness never leaves you...
When one have to compare two teams, players or any entity in sports, the very first thing that is gonna put them ahead is how they/he have been on top notch, surpassing records in any circumstances, not against one/few teams/players but against almost everyone in that sport..
Rafael Nadal is a great player but not the greatest, he is still under the shadows of sampras and Federer
Nadal is already better than Sampras in my opinion! Sampras never won on clay and never had to play Federer
I Disagree, Sandy is Easily regarded as the Greatest Pitcher of All Time with Only 10 great years under his belt

I Can most Certainly Divorce The Two Imo

Longevity is about Compiling

Compilers who hang around and stack ridiculous all time statistics because of Hanging Around, does not impress me

Nor does it trump overall high peak greatness

Joe Dimaggio > Mickey Mantle

Was Pete Rose Greater Than Alex Rodriquez?

He certainly had more Longevity

The Answer is No.

Pete Never EVER in his Life Reached The Level of Arod at Arods Peak......Yet he didn't burn out as fast as Arod did either
I don't follow baseball so I don't know much about that example
Jim Brown Only Had 9 Great Years & Has Always been considered the Greatest Running Back{&Football Player} of All Time

Jim Brown > Emmitt Smith
Hehehehe what is the average lifespan of a running back? 9 years is more than enough sample size for greatness in that position
Montana > Farve
Montana has more hardware so the argument can be made in favor of him! If they where tied for instance then Favre would have a case
Jordan, after his First Retirement, Having only served 9 years was already regarded as the Greatest Ever
, after 1993, after only 3 titles, he was given the crown

The Last 3 were just icing on the Cake.
I don't necessarily agree! At best greatest at the time! The last 3 titles was what made him immortal!! Doing a 3peat twice in a very competitive era has set the bar higher than probably anyone could match! Kobe and Lebron would forever fall short regardless of what they do and 6 beats 3 everyday of the week
Peak Greatness > Compilers

If Athlete {A} had a More Accomplished Career, but never reached a Peak That Athlete{B} had {Reached} Achieved...

Imo That means that Athlete {A} was never as good as Athlete {B}

Was Emmitt as Great as Barry?

Anybody who remember mid 90s NFL Football will tell you, Barry was way greater than Emmitt

Emmitt just Hung Around for a Million Years after Barry Retired to snatch up all the records.

Peak Greatness > Compilers
I value consistency above any other thing! Its very easy to have one or two exceptional seasons but over time your body of work is what would speak for you!
50 cent drops Get Rich or Die Trying sells 12million
Massacre sells 10 million drops nothing more after that

Jay-Z drops 8 albums all selling no more than 5 million but selling no less than 2 million

Who is greater? Longevity counts!

coolguyz: Thats a wrong conclusion. Nadal has played in the wimbledon final (grass) - 5 times, winning 2ce and losing 2ce to Federer and 1ce to Novak. If he isnt good he wont be playing in the finals and has beaten federer in one of the epic matches of this open era on that court.

On the hard court, he's played at the US and Aussie Opens twice each winning one and losing one. Only a good player gets to a Slam final.

Apart from Grand Slams, the ATP masters, he's won st Miami, Indian Wells, Montreal, Toronto. . . all hard courts playing 12 and winning 6 of them. Only great players play in finals.

That he is better than most people around on Clay is a plus for him and while he has defeated the greats on their own preferred courts. . . none yet to dethrone him on the Garros arena!
Don't mind them! Someone completed career slam at 24 and they say he is not good on other surfaces

IIIIxRoyalxIIII: Serena didn't have the greatest Career ever, but she is the most talented, gifted and skilled player to ever play on the Women's Side Imo

Totality of Longevity Achievements don't supersede Peak Level Greatness

Roger Clemens wasn't "Greater" then Sandy Koufax....But he had a more accomplished career with More Longevity

Kareem Wasn't "Greater" then Wilt....But he had a more accomplished career with More Longevity, Statistically

Same Can be said for Any Longevity Great Compared to Maradona

Give me One Football Match....I am taking Maradona over everyone

Give me One Tennis Match on the Female Draw....and I'm taking Serena over that Archaic Dyke Easily.
You can't divorce longevity from greatness! Reason why Mike Tyson can never be regarded as the greatest boxer even though he was arguably the most devastating at his peak. Anyone can have a good run but can you do it again and again? I'm not moved by flashes and small sample sizes! There is no greatness without longevity and a body of work to show for it

BTW the Greatest version of Nadal was in 2010 when he won the French,Wimbledon and US Open back to back

"Had it been" "If to say" Abeg get back to me when Serena gets to 13 consecutive Grand Slam Finals! All these excuses about Serena not focusing on tennis is laughable! She had a downtime like any other athlete can. A Serena that frequently got sonned by Capriati,Henin and Clijsters woulda been slaughtered by a prime Steffi Graf

IIIIxRoyalxIIII: Personally, i think Martina Navratilova was Greater Then Steff

Loool go and check how many records Steffi Graf and only Steffi Graf has to her name that would probably never be touched in tennis again! I give Martina respect for her longevity but that's about it

Steffi had the longest stretch of dominance in a very competitive era in tennis! Her body of work is unmatched! I laugh when people talk about a 19 year old Serena beating Steffi Graf at 31! she was clearly past her peak and had not won a grand slam in almost 2 years

Naah bruv! Monica was dud on grass! Even at her peak she never was able to conquer that surface. If you are guys are giving excuses I can give excuses too! Steffi battled with injuries, german measles and her father's legal troubles in the early 90's! Coincidentally that was when Monica went on her run. Steffi was the greatest!

chic2pimp: Nah Venus just had a faster serve. Her service variety is no where as good as Serenas.
I said had not has! Venus in her prime was as good if not better than Serena! She just got old too quickly

montelik: Murray game is very strong. Don't downgrade the boy because he is British and has their annoying press behind him. Murray is a genuine top 3 player and can beat any of the best, on most surfaces, on any giving day. He probably has the best all-round game in the ATP after Federer.

He will surely win multiple slams barring major injuries, so don't invest too heavily in mocking or ridiculing him.
Loool you are buying into the hype machine! Please Murray has shown that he isn't ready to make that leap yet! With Nadal's injuries and Fedex aging Murray shoulda won more than 1 grand slam by now! Mind you he is 26! His contemporaries Nadal and Djokovic have a combined 18 grand slams! So no his all-round game isn't all that

You need more than just a good serve to be great! Venus had a better serve than Serena but she is not as good as Serena is!
