chamotex: Totoham na OloshiHow useless can a team be? Why didnt they just leave Redknapp there rather than this useless one hit wonder called AVB! Back to back 1-1 against Norwich and West Brom I'd need an 18pt swing more or less to win my tie tommorrow. Long a$$ odds man But Zamora scores! Ooshay |
U1: Seriously? How is that 'safe and cautious'? I mean acquiring a player that won't be playing this GW and still has internationals ahead is safe and cautious? Well, I guess the end will justify the means then. But it is! Cos sticking to non playing Hazard and Torres means you are too scared to discover other productive players. Had to sell them though cos my benchwarmers can't provide their output anyway |
BlueDiva:Na that painment I dey use enter una this nite! Even the Club World Cup una must lose am too! Just to prove that Chelsea winning the UCL was a bigger fluke than Hashim Rahman knocking down Lennox Lewis |
lalaboi: This kain raping, I never see before oh!. Dude could have scored a double hattrickYup Falcao paid those niggas with a reality Cech |
Ibime: Don't worry Papi Ortiz, that gold star will never be removed from the club badge!Hahahaha enjoy that star cos another one isn't joining it anytime soonBabamide: why the fvck does ur line bring whizkid?Obviously you are new here. Why don't u smoke some SK and release those anti-oxidants Ibime and company

Chelsea is like that university graduate that gets a first class degree in Computer Science and doesn't know how to use Internet Explorer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDUOPXP61HQ |
There is a reason why Spain is the King of football and tonight we are harshly being reminded why |
4 - kongba! Mogbe |
Falcaooooo! Was this guy born of a woman?? |
Na today gan gan we go know who be striker and who be shekpe keeper ![]() I kuku warn una some days back! Make I find the post sef |
RuuDie: I'd take a half-fit Theo Walcott over a motivated Nani!I'm pro-Walcott and even I wouldn't say that |
StarBoard: @A-40,I'm almost convinced you simply have beef for the guy! Dropping Nani to the bench coulda been tactical could also have been due to loss of form! Afterall Fergie put Berbatov on the bench for the 10-11 UCL Final does that prove anything? Anyway we are still waiting! Name 3 wingers in England better than Nani! Nani trumps Valencia in goals and assists over the last 3 seasons so I don't know what you are expecting really. Are there some other metrics you use to judge wingers which we don't know of?? Is it not the same Valencia that cost y'all the title at Ewood Park? |
nateevs: Wrong analysis. Firstly, Oscar's not a winger.I know Oscar is not a winger bro. Secondly Malouda has not been sold which makes him an option still ![]() My point is with Schurrle coming you would still essentially have 6-7 players battling for 2-3 positions more or less! Something has to give and if injury or complacency sets in for Torres you are more or less left with a pseudo-striker. You can get away with that in Spain but not necessarily England Don't get me wrong sha your team is rebuilding nicely |
debosky: Gladly - for example, Winston Bogarde was content to sit on the bench and collect his salary till his contract expired than go somewhere else where he might play and earn less. Was he now loyal or content? Contentment depends on what you want - if you have everything you want at a location, you don't leave. That is a man with no other options! Has nothing to do with contentment or loyalty! Its common-sense! Stop comparing the two afterall he was not the one that signed himself so why should he go out of his way to leave! debosky: It's foolish to equate loyalty with contentment - it's like saying a guy who stays with Shell knowing he'll earn 20m per year is 'loyal' because he won't go to Oando and earn 12m per year. The only 'loyalty' is to your own pocket.Au contraire mon frere they go hand in hand! Afterall there are still people that decline better offers and stay where they where previously! You can never be loyal if you are not content to an extent. It is lack of contentment that made Lucifer challenge God debosky: Not in the least - the fact is, he has more chance of making money/winning trophies at Bayern than at Bilbao, ditto with Arteta at Arsenal.Naah stop comparing both scenarios! Arteta was more or less grabbing the last chance to play for a big club! Who else wanted Arteta?? He had way more motivation to take a paycut than Javi Martinez. Two different scenarios debosky: The reality is that if 99% of players do not show loyalty, then loyalty is effectively dead. That one or two exceptions exist does not change the prevailing trend. You mean 99% at Arsenal because it seems it is only at Arsenal this is a major issue debosky: Every club sells players - and they do so for different reasons. Arsenal's players leave because they are good enough to win trophies elsewhere, if not we'd be selling our 'best' players to QPR and Sunderland.Arsenal is a selling club! Where they leave to is not my business! The bottomline is when you sell your best players every season whether their contract is close to expiring or not that makes you a selling club debosky: That is a debatable point - would you have won trophies if those players stayed or not? Song, Nasri, RVP, Clichy, Cesc were all at the club in 2010/11, yet failed to win trophies. The vicious cycle didn't start with Song and Nasri and RVP and while keeping them doesn't guarantee winning! Destroying and constantly rebuilding guarantees not winning debosky: The real cause of a failure to win trophies is our inability (or unwillingness) to fund transfers without selling other players. Citeh didn't win trophies by 'keeping' their players, they did so by buying to complement those they had. Arsenal is currently unable to do that, hence the lack of trophies. We saying the same thing like a synonym! But I doubt City would have won a trophy if they had to sell Joe Hart and Aguero last season or Tevez the season before debosky: No I'm not - he was a 'loyal' player. If Joachim Low was not worried and kept selecting him based on his form for club and country, then who is A-40 to be debating his quality? There is nothing new in what you are saying! Arshavin is Russia's captain despite his epileptic form for Arsenal! I'm just telling you that Podolski for club is different from Podolski for country debosky: It doesn't prove anything - you can't argue from both sides of your mouth. Poldi was loyal to Cologne which was why he stayed that long, not quality. Are you sure he was loyal to Cologne or he stayed cos no one else wanted him! There wasn't exactly a bidding war for his services. Afterall he was a widely renowned flop at Bayern Munchen Time would tell if Podolski would be a good fit at Arsenal but Walcott in the last two seasons has only been bettered by RVP and this is fact |
nateevs: A few sources reporting that Sturridge is off to Liverpool and we are signing Andre Schurrle as replacement.Schurrle again!! I'd hate to be RDM on any given Saturday! He would be doing more balancing than a real application cluster. Moses,Malouda(yes Malouda),Hazard,Oscar,Marin,Mata battling for 2 positions more or less depending on the formation deployed. The question begs tho who is the backup for Torres? Not sure what the function of Schurrle would be with all these fellas on ground but I guess someone at CFC wants him really bad cos this has lingered all summer |
debosky: Almost all those players you listed are unlikely to ever get as much money as they get at their hometown clubs or already have all they want there. That's not loyalty, it's contentment. How many of the players you've mentioned leaving Arsenal were born and bred in N5? They are mosstly foreigners who are all bound to leave at some point or the other, either for more money or trophies, or greedy twats like Cashley.Really!! Francesco Totti,Daniele De Rossi,Xavi,Iniesta,Lahm,Schweini,Nesta and Del P would not have gotten more money had they chosen to leave their clubs. Loyalty,Contentment six, half a dozen how can you have one without the other? Can you be content if you are not loyal?? Debosky help me out here debosky: Arteta also took a pay cut to join Arsenal, so your point proves nothing - all it proves is that players may be willing to take a pay cut now, knowing they'll reap the rewards in the long term, either in prestige/trophies/cash.Arteta = 30 year old! 0 caps for Spain Javi Martinez = 23 years old! 8 caps for Spain (one of the hottest talents in European football as we speak) Apples and oranges, hens and ducks debosky: Besides, I'm glad you've been able to mention 6/7 players out of the thousands in Europe. How many lions do you need to kill to be called a lion-killer? ![]() debosky: They continue leaving because they are quality players not any selling club ish. If not, why do our players almost always leave for clubs that are better than Arsenal performance-wise - Citeh, Utd, Barca?Whaaaaat! Even you don't believe what you just typed! shiiiiii Arsenal is a selling club. Even my great grandma in Sapele knows this! You don't lose your best players year in year out at the slightest flash of greenbacks without being a selling club. Like I said before this in itself is not a crime debosky: Of course it can - the club quantifies it and sets its fee based on that. What of the opportunity cost of missing out on trophies by constantly grooming players that come up short debosky: What does this mean? Didn't Poldi score 19 goals for Cologne last season? Play Walcott in a rubbish team like Cologne and tell me how many goals he'll score. In life or death, National team or clubside, Walcott should be wiping Poldi's boots.[/quote]You are not worried that as at 27 years when other strikers of his ilk are functioning at top clubs Podolski was marooned at a rubbish club like Cologne! Doesn't that buttress my point that he is puan for club? Put Walcott in a club like Cologne and he would score! At least there would be no RVP to setup assists for |
Una don start over-confidence again! This was what y'all said last season and we all saw what happened. Don't write off Braga tho! I saw their game against Udinese! They are a technically sound team and CSI may have to come mop ur team's remains if you take them for granted Lemme weigh in on the Nani debate! Do I think Nani is worth 120k?? Maybe not but he is a big part in what Utd have accomplished over the last few seasons! Let's face it no one in professional sports today is earning what they are really worth anyway. Selling Nani would be a colossal uber-mistake! I look at the Utd team and asides RVP I don't see any other player who is capable of anything magical on the roster! I would take a motivated Nani over 95% of the wingers in England @Starboard Mr Clichy and Mr Ashley Cole will not agree on your assessment of Nani oh! As far as the last 3 seasons go you would struggle to bring out a winger that has performed better than Nani! We wey dey play Fantasy League we know him worth. And don't forget 10-11 season he was by far Utd's best player that year. 10 goals and 14 assists in the league. I say y'all increase his guap to at least 110 and watch him perform. Nani on his day is almost unplayable! I still remember the blitzkrieg against Bayern at Ojoro Trafford vividly |
@4llerbuntu Your write up makes sense from the average club standpoint but at Arsenal you and I know these roles have been blurred. BTW why hasn't Wenger taken a paycut to show that he cares about the team itself debosky: Dude it's all about the money and nothing to do with Wenger - all those players could go elsewhere and make more money, hence they went. There is no such thing as loyalty for the most part. Besides, how long do you have to stay to be deemed loyal? Till you die?Its about Wenger! Who loses close to ten players in 3-4 seasons for more money! I wonder how much you can pay Xavi and Iniesta to leave Barca. What of De Rossi and Totti? Del Piero nko? Lahm or Schweini? We just signed Javi Martinez and guess what he took a 2million euro a year paycut to facilitate the deal. Nesta woulda never left Lazio if not for their financial troubles! He refused the armband at Milan cos he vowed never to wear the band of another club! Loyalty might be dead at Arsenal but don't generalize it debosky: The simple fact is that as long as players can make more money elsewhere they will continue to leave. That is why it is imperative not to go overboard in attempting to hold one player, unless you have the cash to stop all the rest leaving too. They continue to leave or is Arsenal simply a selling club that has to cash in on them to break even. This in itself isn't a crime anyway debosky: The recurring decimal is that Arsene continues to identify and bring through players who are attractive enough to the biggest clubs to command high fees. In this current era of money-miss-roads, you can't really compete on wages so the best will naturally go where they can be paid most. But alas can the time and money spent to groom these players be quantified? debosky: There is little comparison between Poldi and Walcott, Poldi is an established international forward with clear goal scoring pedigree. Walcott isn't anywhere close with due respect.Podolski for Die Mannschaft, Podolski for club! The sooner you recognize the Grand Canyon sized difference the better for you! If na by that one Garba Lawal was also an established left whatever but can you remind what club he played for again? (Don't say cos its Nigeria it doesn't matter international na international )@chamotex Little did you know I've been down with Bayern since 95 |
Not a bad draw for Die Roten. We should easily make these teams roadkill! I do feel bad for Dortmund although they where really poor last season! You shouldn't finish last in a group with Marseille,Arsenal and Olympiakos Saw the Martinez pics on my feed! He seems good to go! And you can tell he is hungry and wants to achieve! Now with all bases covered we can prosecute the rest of the season in search of our stolen glory. Let's hope for squad unity and the grit to pick themselves up when the game aint going their way Stuttgart on Sunday |
U1: In that case, I'd advise you put him on the bench. Just a piece of advice. And miss out on another potential midfielder who would help me score points? I think not! Playing it safe and cautious won't get u far in this league! You have to know when to roll the dice! |
chamotex: I'm having a trial with Wembley FC in September, so be prepared to see me on TV soon in the FA Cup.At 35 na him u just dey go for trial hehehehehe |
U1: And you are really concerned about the 'infidels,' right? You berra jump on the train NOW! Just trying to apply some biz strategies here. Sometimes, you gamble or take risk while hoping for the best. Unless you have enough funds, you berra join this train. I mean no show for the guy this weekend and next, yet his price keeps rising.Charley money no be problem! I have Hazard already just not decided what to do with him for this GW |
mithel: But i can boldly say nando wnt miss all dose chances higuain missed because he wnt even be available to be passed to in the first place. He wud av bin gisting with pique probably asking if truly shakira's hips don't lie....oh torres torres.he is available wen he wantsThis is Dave Chappelle funny |
Lol with time you would! Meanwhile I dey see ur moves |
@chuckdee4 Naah dog Afellay is a slower Walcott with even less goal sense @debosky This is more of a recurring decimal with Wenger than any other manager the other examples you listed are isolated cases. You need to ask yourself why this is so. Nasri,Adebayor,RVP,Song,Flamini,Ashley the list is endless. You can even justify the likes of Rooney and Tevez who actually won things for their clubs! How do you explain these trophyless bunch? I mean look at Song! You sign a new deal 2011 and by 2012 you are holding out for a pay-rise! Even mercenaries have a chain of command! A G-code of some sort Back to Walcott! He might have his critics but besides RVP he has been Arsenal's most productive weapon over the last two seasons. I've seen enough of Podolski to deduce that he is not an improvement on Walcott as for Gervinho lol the less said the better! That leaves y'all with Chamberlain |
Good news! Hopefully it motivates the boys on the pitch What are Bilbao saying again? They claim they didn't give Martinez permission to travel! Lol I hope we don't ever have to deal with this muthaphuckers again Oga u never follow back oh. Me I nor dey follow who no dey follow me oh! |
Walcott rejects 5 year/75k a week contract: Wenger issues 48hr ultimatum So the question begs why does Wenger keep surrounding himself with players who are not in the least bit loyal to him? |
dayokanu: Let me just say I hit the ground running.Na wa for u oh! See GMAT question wey u dey ask me! The usual nau! "I will buy u Christian louboutin,I phone 5,human hair" etc etc. Yankee boy swags na him u go give them nau. Gustavo ko Makalele ni! DM = Direct Message |
dayokanu: Actually bild reports that Martinez is taking a 40m check to the La Liga football federation to buy out his contract tomorrow. You are following 97 people already! you determined not to fail aint you? You just dey give them wash dey go dem go dey DM u on a lowkey! Rule of thumb! Don't be following people that won't follow back! Makes you look like a sucka (you could make exceptions for celebs, sports personalities or important news feeds) |
No mind Bilbao dem just dey do like Kunta Kinte! They are selling Martinez infact Bild.de is saying the deal has been struck as he won't be listed for their Europa League game |
Why buy Hazard who won't play next week? What happens if he comes back from the Internationals crocked? Who are these infidels? |
@Ibime Arguing now is a waste of time let's see how he fares when the going gets a little tougher Why is Falcao to Chelsea trending worldwide?? Lol @ the desperate nigga that started this rumor |
