With the little money they have, they've done pretty well to survive relegation in the past few seasons.

Song would get quality minutes at Barca! He is too versatile not to get some playing time! I don't even rate Busquets ahead of Song. Busquets would struggle too if he had to play with Ramsey every week

When would niggas realize Wenger is just taking em for a ride

dayokanu: Champions League is my hope for Bayern.

I cant see that many teams better than us in Europe. Maybe only Barcelona. After them I believe with our team

Same team from last yr with the inclusion of Shaqiri, Dante, Mandzukic and (Martinez)we can stand toe to toe with Madrid
Spot on! Truthfully speaking I can't be bothered about the Bundesliga! Dortmund can win the next five for all I care. The priority should be the UCL. 11 years without the big ears is too long for a club of Bayern Munchen's caliber! Especially coming so close twice in quick succession. I hope to see some killer instinct and some urgency as the likes of Robben,Ribery,Gomez,Lahm and Schweinsteiger must realize the window for greatness is closing slowly but surely (we where runners up in all 3 competitions last season)
We out-played Madrid home and away with last season's squad! But for a wasteful Gomez and a blind linesman that game shouldn't have even gone to penalties

Willkommen Javi Martinez

I was sure from day one that FCB was making at least one more signing

Team should look like this

Neuer
Lahm Dante/Boateng Badstuber. Alaba

Martinez Schweini

Muller
Robben Ribery
Mandzukic

Bring on Europe!

@Dayokanu
What are your hopes for Die Roten this season? I'm still smarting from the UCL loss and it may seem far-fetched but for me that's all I want from Bayern this season

Edumare punish the poster before me for uploading that disgusting pic and ruining my beer

davidif: That's what i am saying bro. If Joe Johnson had stayed in Phoenix rather than go to Atlanta he might have gotten close to winning a championship rather than the frequent first round playoff exits.
In a weaker Eastern Conference he should be doing better with Josh Smith,Al Horford,Jamal Crawford et al! They got swept twice!! He is a poorman's Carmelo Even with homecourt they couldn't beat Boston!
Amare use to Average Like 29 on Td in his prime.
The spurs were just a better team, mainly because Coach Pop use to shut down Nash with Bruce Bowen.
Amazing how well Bruce use to guard Nash, Great Coaching move by Pop. Nash never had the kind of footspeed to get by an elite defender like that Plus his height and length gave Nash Problems.
Amare use to Shid on Duncan though, The Suns use to Lose Because of the Bowen guarding Nash Dynamic.
In 04-05 playoffs he averaged almost 30

http://databasebasketball.com/players/playerpage.htm?ilkid=stoudam01

(Imo) Amare never was the same after the 04-05 season.
I tend to agree with you on the final part of your post. Microfracture surgery and eye issues really didn't let him maximise his potential

I don't think Nash vs Bowen was the only reason they lost! The Suns inferior defence also played a role! Nash couldn't pick Parker on the other end either and if they switched Bell on Parker it created even more matchup problems! Let's not forget that in Amare they also had a big man who played no D

dayokanu: A40

My contacts report that Javi Martinez himself would be paying 10m of that amount

Reduced wages of 2m per season for 5yrs

Bayern reportedly would meet the buyout clause so we dont have to negotiate with Bilbao and Martinez shaves the 10m off personally

This is similar to the Pranjic deal who paid the balance of his own transfer
Saw that on goal.com lol advantages of a big club! Players would take paycuts to play for you
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by A40(m): 1:56am On Aug 16, 2012
debosky: Was Arsenal winning the game before the defensive error? Or was RVP only paid to score once and f**k off in that game? huh
The comparison was made with Didier Drogba - in the CC final against a much better opponent (Arsenal), DD scored twice to win the game for Chelski, which RVP could not do - that's the point.
Bottomline - he didn't do enough to win a trophy then, so comparing him to DD is way off the mark in terms of ability to drive a team to success.
Ability to drive a team to success is relative! I wonder how many trophies Drogba would win with Szcesny,Mertesacker,Koscielny and Djourou in his backline. If you give Sebastian Vettel a Mini Cooper and Debosky an RB8 I'd like to think Debosky would have a fighting chance in a race. He tied the game! Who is to say he wouldn't have scored the winning goal in pk's or extra time?
Sports › Re: NBA. . . Represent Your Team by A40(m): 1:46am On Aug 16, 2012
The Reason the Suns didn't win a title was Robert Horry Slamming Steve Nash into the Scorers Table
That year they were the favorite to win...and when the players left the bench, many key suns players got suspended
The Suns were superior to the spurs that Year.
Horry is both Clutch and Calculated. Amare use to Give TD the Business. Caused all Sorts of problems for Duncan back when Amare was in his Prime.

#RobertHorryPlayoffLegend
Problems?? Wasn't he there in 05 when they got beat 4-1? His injuries hardly helped the Suns cause but they won a lot of games without him! And became multi-dimensional! Guys like Leandro Barbosa, Boris Diaw, Raja Bell and Tim Thomas where filling it up in his absence but when Amare came back what happened they couldn't go past the first round of playoff series. I still mainly blame D'Antoni for his lack of emphasis on defence so Don't get it twisted tho he's an excellent player he just seems not to bring it when it matters most plus his Knicks career has been pure disaster
Sports › Re: NBA. . . Represent Your Team by A40(m): 1:26am On Aug 16, 2012
davidif: I wouldn't put the blame on Amare and co. The biggest reason why that team never won a championship was as a result of Joe Johnson's departure. They were never really able to replace him. Which is so sad considering the fact that they probably were about to revolutionize the NBA with there style of play. Too bad though.
Joe Johnsonhuh Come on bro! What has he done at Atlanta? The odd conference semi appearance? The Suns where not winning it all with him anyway! Mike D'Antoni like Don Nelson doesn't know squat about defence and to win a ring you are gonna have to defend sometime!

Roland17: Ray got disgruntled after Doc Rivers told the team last year it was now Rando's team, that meant the celtics were taking a new direction especially on the court also during and after ray's injury during the season, Avery Bradley took over his position in the first team, that did not come down well with Ray..
I stand by Doc Rivers and as a celtic fan, i can only wish Ray the best of luck..
This was like Ray Allen's worst shooting year plus he is only like 37 or 38! His leaving is not a problem! JET is a perfect replacement! the important thing is Keeping Rondo happy, resigning K.g for a couple of years and getting a decent big man. That kid with the heart problem should be back too right?

dayokanu: Mvilla is totally useless going forward, He is only useful as a destroyer. He would simply be Gustavo part 2.

To get a player of Martinez quality the market is so inflated that its unreal. If a 19yr old untested Brazilian gets transferred for that insane amount, the offering 25m for Martinez would only get you his autograph.

I have only seen Martinez is about 10 games many of which I wasnt even paying attention to him. But what I read of him from coaches and analyst makes him one of the best DM/CM out there
Lol we are not PSG so its best we stick with our story and offer at most 25mil and player deal. Martinez is good I've seen a bit of the boy but he is still a luxury signing in my eyes! Martinez is not why we missed out on a potential treble. I'd love for us to get him but we don't need to break the bank for him! I dunno why we can't go for Sahin as well who is a tried and tested Bundesliga performer.

Me I don't blame Nash oh! Dude gave his all to the Suns unfortunately when you have bigs in their prime (Stoudemire)that don't play hard and stay injured or a washed up Shaq it becomes difficult to win stuff! Plus the Suns don't seem interested in winning

With Superman joining the Lakers I'm just happy that that snitch (Deron Williams's) plan failed woefully! Let's see him win rings with Joe Johnson,Gerald Wallace and Mr Kardashian
