The camp of APC aspirant, Heineken Lokpobiri, who went to court to challenge the emergence of David Lyon as the governorship candidate of the party is in shock -

The Federal High Court refused to grant Lokpobiri's prayer that Lyon should be replaced with him - The court instead ruled that the party does not have any lawfully-selected candidate in the forthcoming election The camp of Heineken Lokpobiri, one of the aspirants that contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries ahead of the Bayelsa election, is currently lamenting its decision to challenge the outcome of the poll in court.
Lokpobiri had approached the Federal High Court in Bayelsa to declare him the authentic candidate of the APC in the state instead of David Lyon.

But, in a twist, the court, which was presided over by Justice Jane Inyang, ruled that the governorship primary conducted by the APC in the state was not done in compliance with electoral guidelines and the constitution of the party. Confusion in APC over sack of deputy governorship candidate in Bayelsa, party reacts to court ruling Consequently, the court declared that the APC has no candidate in the Bayelsa election.

In his reaction, Lokpobiri’s lawyer, Fitzgerald Olorogun, says he was shocked by the court's pronouncement because it was not part of their prayers. “It’s strange,” he said. When asked about the next move by the party, the lawyer said the court's decision stands and as a result of this, the APC has no candidate in the forthcoming election. He, however, assured that the necessary steps will be taken to address the decision of the court appropriately. Recall that Lokpobiri had been urging the people of Bayelsa to vote for the APC in the November 16 election, despite his court case against Lyon and the party.

The court on Thursday, November 14, ruled that the APC had no candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial poll in the state.

In reaction to this, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take note of the decision of the court.

It took the lawyers 2days to get stay of execution for Dep Gov candidate, Sen. Degi Wagara certificate forgery, because of the process involves , I guess Bayelsa will go the Rivers way and Oshobaba will be blame for it and kicked out...The crisis that happened before the last general election in most states are yet to be resolve , I expected Oshobaba to have mend those fences even before now, cos as it stands , I don't think he can survive it as chairman mostly if the APC fails to make it into the Ballot on Saturday in Bayelsa. Just like Rivers , no lesson learnt from the last general election.

This is exactly what I was telling my friends today. It might take another two days to get another stay of execution of today's judgment. Mind you, another APC aspirant that was rigged out judgment is coming tomorrow

The popular cleric made the prediction in a chat with Legit.ng correspondent when discussing what Nigerians should expect in the coming governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states.

The cleric said though the people of Kogi state were completely tired of Yahaya Bello, the governor will still win a second term because the main opposition in the party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is not organised to win the poll.
