Yes, it does if you have faith. I've been a victim of demonic attack for a long time. I moved from pillar to post, looking for solution but the problem persisted until I came closer to God. I can tell you that you have to shun sin, fast & pray like you'll never see tomorrow, if possible do vigil. Those are indeed what I did to scale through the problems till date. Of a truth, I still prefer Philosophy(Logic), I didn't really attend lectures because we are too many and we did that in 100 level. 100level is a situation where people from different dept comes together to attend lecture. I had 84% in the course (personal training though) which is the second best in the whole faculty

OP.. I bet to disagree with the above calculation. You can never earn N35,000 as interest on N500,000. You did not remember to multiply the N35,000 by 30/365....N2876.713 minus VAT= Whatever you get is what you'll earn after 30 days on N500,000. That is the way it is done. If it is 60 days, you need to use 60/365. if it is 90days, you need to divide 90/365. Got it?

Does it mean that rearing fish in concrete pond will not yield profit if the management and feeding is right?

With due respect to people that make use of concrete pond, both will yield profit. However, one will do better than the other. Aside that, fish tend to do well in a natural environment.

can't say because I have never used floating feeds all through before. I usually use it for few weeks before switching to Local feeds.

Naturally, juvenile should be eating 2mm coppens. As soon as you collect it. You need to go back to 1.5mm since it has 49% crude protein. By the doing so, it will make them to eat very well.
Since, they are 2000pieces, u need to buy 3 bags of 1.5mm for them @ 3500 per bag which invariably is 10,500 naira.


Weather u like it or not, they will show sign of sickness during the cause of eating the 3bags. Thus, budget at least 2100 naira for salt and Potassium.


As soon as they finished the 3bags, u move to local feeds. On to ur question, u don't necessarily need to wait for 6months before u sell them.

Let me know how many pieces you intend stocking and let me also know what you intend collecting weather fingerlings or Juvenile.
I can give you a rough estimate if I have the above information.

You can easily get it from people that sells floating feeds. The cost depends on the size of the dragging net

The quantities applied in 100KG does not have any side effect on your fish. The right quantity per 100KG is 1KG but you can reduce to 0.5 to reduce the cost of ur feed. 1KG is 700 naira. Lysine too worth 700 naira per KG. 1KG is not too much because that is what i used for a starter and as time goesby I ignore it to reduce cost of production.

I can make a starter without lysine or premix but the most important of them all is vitc, if u didnt add it to ur feed formula, it can make ur fish have crackhead which might result to sickness hitherto death.

FM 30, GNC 20, TS 20, Maize 10, Biscuit 10, Premix 1, Vit C 100grams, DCP 1, Salt 1, Molasis 10
(Floxinor 1 or Tectracin 1) it is antibiotics and it is optional but I make use of it whenever I want to make my feed

The above formula is 100KG.



Your fish should still be around 2 month or so. This factor depend on the population of the fish you stocked couple with their eating habit. You can still continue with 2mm. The smaller the size of the feeds, the better for the fish because they tend to eat small feeds more and the digestion rate is very high.

I mean building concrete walls to separate the ponds in a marshy area to avoid occasional falls and wash away by heavy water movement. The floor will not be cemented so as to allow for natural flow of water.

I see that as a waste of money. Water is very powerful and as time goes by, there is every tendency that the blocks may collapse due to the marshy state of the area unless you want to use in a normal area. In a marshy area, the use of proper bagging should be considered and they should do it in such a way that there are a lot of pipes at the outlet.

opes: because of unavailability of some of the ingredients in my area, can the second local feeds be adjusted using;
Broiler starter (vital or topfeed) = 50kg
F/M, 72% = 18Kg
Gnc =40kg
Soya =40kg
Biscuit = 30kg
Rice bran = 20Kg
Bone = 2kg
Premix = 1kg
Lysine =0.2
vit.c = 0.15
Salt= 1kg

Presently, 25kg of broiler starter (top feed) is 2,250. Gnc is 118/kg, soya 120/kg (full fat 140/kg), biscuit is 55/kg, rice bran 16/kg.

The above is 198KG in total. The percentage of fish meal which is the most vital ingredient is too small. Broiler starter and rice barn are both carbohydrate. Isn't the percentage too much? I really don't know how old your fish are but you should at least increase the fish meal percentage in your feed to at least 50KG in 200KG.

It is very easy to make fingerlings gather even in a very big pond. It is d'most simpliest of all if u know the right channel to go about it. Feeding at different corners will only cause disparity among ur fish and it can also lead to waste of feeds. For now, I make use of two methods, the first is the introduction of sound to give them notice that it is time to eat.


To do the above, get a keg and stick. Beat the keg several times before u feed them. Within the next 3 days, u will see that they will converge at a spot u feed them.

The second method is that u will need to get a net which most of us know as mosquito net, get a tailor to sow it for u into rectangle. You will now put big stone inside it and use stick to peg it into ur pond. You then use net that prevent predator to cover it at the top. That's'the latest method adopted of recent. It has succeded in killing a leftover fish in the pond and mouse. I can snap and upload d'picture 2mao.

opes: Lot of money, risky for farmers getting fingerlings from untrusted sources..

As big as Ijebu ode is, I can only vouch for two farms. They use broodstock weighing 8KG and above to hatch. I collect my fish from them. I can wait for a month or more for their fish. Their fingerlings is simply the best!

Yes, if properly manage. Properly manage in the sense that, u change water every two weeks and u feed them upto saturation point.
