Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain shirts was sold out in 30 minutes on the French football club's online store after his signing was officially announced, Newspremises reports.

Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has urged The Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) to tone down its agitations saying the lockdown enforced in most south Eastern states today, August 9 is detrimental to Igbo people.

IPOB had announced a lockdown for every Monday of the week in protest of the continued detention of it’s leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The Monday lockdown saw some states like Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra shutdown businesses totally, but Ikpeazu says the focus should be on ensuring Nnamdi Kanu gets a fair trial and not stopping Igbos from going to work.

“I want to say that for the first time since this agitation started, the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, which is the leading Pan-Igbo socio-Cultural group, has expressed serious interest in making sure that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu gets fair judgement and a powerful delegation led by Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife was sent there and they are monitoring the trials.” Ikpeazu told SunNewsOnline on Monday, August, 9.

The General Overseer of the Living Faith Church International aka Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has advised women against joining the feminist movement.

The clergyman who gave the advice during a sermon to his congregation stated that feminism leads to frustration and devastation.

He lamented that women of today ignore the Bible’s instruction to submit to their husbands because they think such is outdated.

According to him, when the Bible says “submit yourself to your husband in everything,” women respond saying, “No, not today, that was before. Right now, nobody can do that. We are co-heirs, male and female, no difference.”

Oyedepo continued, saying such women think they are too smart for God to lead them.

He said when they are told that “this is the way to go,” they respond saying, “No, let me educate you, God. You didn’t go to school, did you?”

The clergyman continued, “Right now, there is a feminine revolution. Then you get into feminine frustration and destiny devastation.

“You know something, no book on earth will ever overtake the Bible in currency. It is the eternal truth. While the earth remains, the truth of scriptures remains in force, you either choose to follow or go your way.

“For we can do nothing against the truth – no matter what civilisation we are talking about – but for the truth at all times.

Sergio Busquets has emerged Barcelona new captain, following Lionel Messi's departure from the Spanish Club, Ronald Koeman has confirmed.

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has directed the State Police Command to investigate the demolition of a church and death of two worshippers, Newspremises reports.

There was a violent confrontation between a Joint Security Task Force operating with the Borno Geographic Information System (BOGIS) and EYN Church members at Maduganari in Maiduguri.

Newspremises gathered that, the incident sparked outrage within the Christian community in Borno.

“These daylight murders and demolition of a church wouldn’t have happened at a mosque”, an indigene of the state based in Lagos told journalists.

A disturbed Zulum, who now faces the task of proving that his administration is not bias against Christians, has condemned the shooting.

Five persons are currently hospitalized. The governor, in a statement by his spokesman, Isa Gusau, commiserated with families of those who died and the injured.

Zulum also invited the CAN leadership for a meeting slated for later today at the Government House.

More Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) members have reportedly surrendered to the Nigerian military, Newspremises has learnt.

They presented selves to Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) conducting counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations in North-East.

Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations in a statement said there have been sustained air and ground bombardments on hideouts in Sambisa forest.

Nwachukwu noted that 18 terrorists led their families to troops and laid down arms.

”The AFN wishes to state unequivocally that it is not aware of any contract as there was no document in the Secretariat of the federation pertaining to any contractual agreement with PUMA.”
