A graduating student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Mr. Ayodele Daniel Dada, has set a new academic record with five-point Cumula­tive Grade Point Average (CGPA), in the institu­tion.
UNILAG Vice Chan­cellor, Prof. Rahamon Bello said Dada is from the Department of Psy­chology, Faculty of Social Sciences and among 10, 907 students who would graduate at next week’s convocation ceremony.
Former UNILAG VC, Prof. Ibidapo Obe said Dada’s academic feat is “certainly a new record “for 54-year-old univer­sity.

A new study is set to be released detailing the key elements to a fulfilling and sexually satisfying relationship.
Those behind the research, due to be published in the Journal of Sex Research, noted there were five different types of communication that led to sexual satisfaction.
And, according to the Wall Street Journal, the researchers concluded that each of the five types contributed to a happier relationship for women and men.

Machine-washing a good pair of jeans can actually cause damage to the material
Laundry is inevitable, but thankfully there are people like Levi’s CEO and President Chip Bergh who want to make our lives a little easier.

According to him, you should never wash a pair of jeans. Ever.

While this may prompt noises of disgust from those are less-then-enamoured by the idea of walking around in dirty clothes, Mr Bergh explained that he "spot cleans" any stains with a toothbrush.

Speaking to Fortune in a video that was recently re-shared on social media he said: "The point I was trying to make… it was a wake-up call to consumers that we go into autopilot and after we’re finished wearing something, we just automatically toss it into the laundry.

"A good pair of denim doesn’t really need to be washed in the washing machine except for very infrequently or rarely."

Donald Trump has called Pope Francis "disgraceful" after the Republican presidential candidate was described as being "not Christian".
Responding to the Pope comments, which were made in a conversation with reporters on his flight back from a visit to Mexico, Mr Trump insisted he is a Christian and proud of it.

Pope Francis has declared that presidential candidate Donald Trump is not a Christian because of strident views on immigration and his desire to build a wall on the Mexican border. Mr Trump has hit back and called the comments “shameful”.

The Reuters news agency said that the remarkable intervention from Francis came in a in a freewheeling conversation with reporters on his flight back from a visit to Mexico. Pope Francis was asked about Mr Trump and some of his statements, such as vowing to build a wall between the United States and Mexico if he becomes president.

“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” the Pontiff said in answer to a specific question about mr Trump’s views. “This is not in the gospel.”

Asked if American Catholics should vote for someone with Mr Trump’s views, Francis said: “I am not going to get involved in that. I say only that this man is not Christian if he has said things like that. We must see if he said things in that way and in this I give the benefit of the doubt.”

Mr Trump has worked hard to secure the support of evangelicals and conservative Christians as he has campaigned across the country. He released a campaign video in which appeared with what he said was his mother’s bible.

He also appeared at the christian Liberty University in Virginia, where he fluffed a reference to the bible but secured the support of the college’s president, Jerry Falwell, the son of the late preacher and activist Jerry Falwell Sr.
The Republican frontrunner, who has said he would deport millions of illegal migrants if he wins the November US election, last week he told Fox Business television that Pope Francis did not understand the Mexican border issues.

“The pope is a very political person. I think he doesn't understand the problems our country has. I don’t think he understands the danger of the open border that we have with Mexico,” he said.

On Thursday, Mr Trump immediately hit back and said the pope had failed to fully appreciate the issue.
“If and when the Vatican is attacked by Isis’s, which as everyone knows is Isis’s ultimate trophy, I can promise you that the Pope would have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been President because this would not have happened,” he said.

“For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful. I am proud to be a Christian and as President I will not allow Christianity to be consistently attacked and weakened, unlike what is happening now, with our current President.”

AWKA—MORE than 700 babies die daily in Nigeria due to lack of hygiene to ward off preventable infections at birth, an official of the Federal Ministry of Health, Mrs. Evelyn Agbanyim has said. She identified the major causes of neonatal deaths in Nigeria to include low birth weight, birth asphyxia and infections, which account for 80 per cent of deaths among children. Agbanyim, who spoke at an awareness seminar in Awka on how to stem the tide of neonatal mortality in Nigeria, attributed the development to ignorance, poor funding and ineffective application of life-saving neonatal commodities for women and children’s health. According to her, the Federal Government decided to carry the campaign to the relevant stakeholders in the country following the worrisome situation, adding that those targeted were policy makers, religious and traditional rulers, professional associations and regulatory bodies and the media. She said: “Over the last decade, progress in addressing the high rate of neonatal mortality in Nigeria has been rather slow due to skills gap, poor referral network, inadequate training of health personnel, poor policy implementation and inadequate supply of the commodities.” According to her, maintaining the current trend will not significantly reduce neonatal mortality and so, there is need to accelerate efforts towards adequate funding to redress the situation. She observed that despite in interventions in the past, much remained to be done to ensure access, affordability and availability of the commodities to the most vulnerable group in the country, adding that one of the major barriers of access to essential healthcare services in Nigeria was shortage and inequitable distribution of appropriate cadres of health work force to deliver the services where they were most needed.

Akure — Police detectives in Ondo State have arrested a 42-year-old man, Samuel Omosaba, for allegedly beheading his three-year-old niece for ritual. The niece, Adubarin Kola, was murdered at Ilepa quarters in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North-East Local Government Area of the state. Police source informed that the suspect, who is single and jobless, allegedly contacted a herbalist, who resides at Ipe-Akoko area of the state, for money ritual and he was reportedly asked to come with the head of someone aged below five years. It was also gathered from sources in the Ilepa Quarters of Ikare that the deceased’s mum, identified as Bunmi, usually kept her with the grandmother whenever she goes hawking. The sources added that on the ill-fated day, when she took her to the mother-in-law’s place where he met the suspect as the old woman was said to have gone out, “the suspect promised to look after the niece before his mother returns.” When Bunmi returned, the lifeless body of her child was found in the suspect’s room. He reportedly told the family members why he beheaded the three-year-old girl. the news spread across the town as youth in their hundreds stormed the suspect’s home, attempted to razed it and lynch him, but for the intervention of police, who reportedly whisked him away. Police spokesman, Femi Joseph, who confirmed the incident, said the matter is been investigated by the State Criminal Investigative Department, CID.

An online dating app has revealed what it says are the best and worst things to say when chatting with potential new partners online.
Staff at the Hinge app looked at the activity of 5,000 of its users over one day.
And according to the research, users who used the word 'sorry' as an opener in online conversation were 56 per cent less likely to get a person's number.
It also concluded that another big error was being vague and "wishy-washy" with plans. People that suggested vague time periods such as "this weekend" and "next week" for potential dates were 40 per cent less likely to get a person’s number.
According to the research, the best things a person can do while online dating include using words like ‘lol’.
Conversations featuring words relating to laughter were 17 per cent more likely to end in a number swap.
It also found that users who complemented the other person's name increased their chances by another 12.5 per cent.

FATHER Mbaka over the course of his work as a priest and Director of the Adoration Ministry built up a large following that passionately believes in his apostolic manifestations. This much was shown on the day that he finally left the old parish to resume a t the new parish. Hundreds of the diehard Adoration Ministry supporters chartered over 30 lorries, which were filled to standing-space only, to escort him to the new place in a long motorcade that almost caused stand-still traffic in Enugu.
Several other individuals who are not members of the Adoration Ministry, but are on his side of the great debate over the seemingly controversial transfer were equally quick to criticize the decision of the Enugu Catholic Diocese, to transfer him soon after he visited President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock. They aligned with the view that his transfer was punitive.
One such person is the senior pastor of Gospel Fire Church, Ogidi in Idemili North Local Gov­ernment Area of Anambra State, Prophet Chinedu Strongson who opined that what is happening to Mbaka right now is persecution, noting that his prophecies come from God.
His words: “The prophecies of Mbaka are 90 per cent direct from God, which he cannot hide. They are real and I believe that God speaks through him to his people. He is suffering persecution just like Christ suffered persecution because of our sin. Mbaka sacrificed his time, money and energy to do the work of God and to help the less privileged in the society.
“The Bible says in Gospel of John Chapter 16 verse 2-3 ‘They will put you out of the Synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God. And they will do these things because they have not known the Father or me. Mbaka is being persecuted because he is doing what other Catholic priests cannot do; he preaches what other revered fathers cannot preach.”
In the same vein, senior pastor of Power of God Gospel Assembly, Onitsha, Pastor Joel Chukwubueze condemned the transfer of Mbaka from his former parish to a new parish, saying it was a punitive measure, which, he said, churches should not do.
“We all started from Catholic Church and know how they do things. We are aware that Catholic Church transfers their priests from time to time but my question is this: why the sudden transfer after Mbaka gave a prophesy about the 2015 election, when he said that the Holy Spirit rejected Jonathan and his subsequent meetings with President Buhari last month that the church now decided to transfer him. We as human beings, it is painful but God knows the best for the man of God.”
“As a senior pastor in my church, there have been times I attended his adoration programmes. If you listen to Fr. Mbaka preach, you will know that God speaks through him. We are all men of God but we have different gifts from God. Mbaka has about three to four gifts out of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. He knows how to preach, pray, prophesy and sing very well too. No one can stop whom God has ordained and blessed; so even if they post him out of the country he will still continue with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.”
No less concerned is the pastor Holy Spirit Parish of the of Re­deemed Christian Church of God, Onitsha, Anambra State, Pastor Godsgift Prosper Akin who saw nothing wrong in men of God preaching about the odds in the society as servants of God.
He explained: “Bible says we should pray for those in authority. The bible did not say we should not talk about the wrong things in the society. Who are the church members? Are they not the political office holders from the local government to the state and federal levels? So if we fail to preach about righteousness and salvation what else should we preach as priests, clergy and pastors?
“I say strongly that they should not torment and suffer Fr. Mbaka for doing his job as a priest. Nigeria today needs someone like him who is radical in preaching the truth. You know that truth is always bitter. For me his prophecy is real, his preaching and prophecy last year came to pass.”
He spoke further: “Remember that God clearly warned in the bible: ‘touch not my anointed and my prophets do him no harm.’ This is to avert the wrath of God. I’m not condemning the transfer of Mbaka by the Catholic Church but their conscience should judge them whether it is routine transfer or punitive transfer; I know that God is watching. To Mbaka, my advice is this: you should not be deterred because The Lord is your strength and no one will transfer the gift from you. What you are going through is part of the tribulation children of God pass through in course of their vocations and callings.”
For Prophet Hephzibah Uchenwafor of Light of Mis­sion International (LOGMI), the decision of the Catholic Church, Enugu Diocese to transfer Mbaka amounted is exhibition of ignorance.
His words: “The transfer is an exhibition of ignorance by the Catholic Church based on the reason they gave. The Church should only transfer any priest based on the leading of the Holy Spirit and not on any policy of the Church. The work done by the priest is the work of God and not of the Church.
“Mbaka has right to complain if he feels that his transfer was not based on the leading of the Holy Spirit or if he feels that it was not time for him to leave that place. Hence he can cry out. The church is generally exhibiting ignorance in their method of transfer and promotion. It is not the Catholic Church alone that is found wanting in that regard.
A member of the Catholic laity and a young mother, Mrs. Kate Ekekwe frowned at what she called hatred for Mbaka by some people and said the man of God should be allowed to do his things the way he wants.
She said, “Let them leave Father Mbaka alone. Why are they envious of him? How can they take him out from a big church he built and take him to a very small church? It is not good now. We love him; God is using him mightily, so they should let him be.”

Tragedy hit the campaign team of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oriade Local Council Development Area of Lagos State last weekend following the electrocution of one of the party faithfuls, Mr Ishola Raji. Raji was fixing a campaign banner on an electric pole at Kirikiri town.
Investigations revealed that the first two people who climbed the ladder to tie the rope jumped down due to fear. It was Raji who summoned the courage without the premonition that he was embarking on a vjourney of no return. According to an eyewitness, when the victim, popularly known as Alfa climbed the ladder, his body touched an electric cable which resulted in a serious spark that threw him off the pole, smash gainst a nearby roof, before he eventually landed on the ground. He was said to have sustained injuries on his forehead, while he foamed in the mouth

More than a third people in the North-East say they have sex more than five times a month,

The North East of England has more sex than anywhere in Britain, a new survey has revealed.
More than a third of people surveyed by a poll for the This Morning programme in the region said they had sex more than five times a month.

A show insider told the Mirror Online: “As this survey reveals, sex is a topic This Morning viewers are very open about and these results could lead to a more regular sex clinic where viewers can get the best advice on the show and not feel alone with their intimate concerns.”
