I applied onshore. So, I didn't have to bother about means of payment.
However, many has advised that we get a dorm account and fund it with FX from black market.
That's currently the best solution so far on the thread.

Thanks bro

Yes they are. The funny thing here is that I have unconditional admission offers in 4 out of 5 of these schools, but I don't have an IELTS result. I want to try applying with my TOEFL (overall score: 111), even though I know I won't get past the first stage since I don't meet one criterion.

Thanks for your response bro. There's no harm in trying with your TOEFL result, I believe it should work out fine. I think from last year's thread, some people got interview invites without English test results.

Abeg how long should the cover letter be? Any idea??

Are the select schools still limited to Aberdeen, Leeds, Cranfield, Strathcylde, Liverpool??

The Embassy uses OANDA rate.....It's closer to interbank rate. But you could check the rates your self or download the app.

Alright, thanks a lot.

Yes partial payment is possible. But the balance must reflect in your statement of account with your maintenance expenses to get your visa. Once you get your visa, to fully register at the University, you have to pay 50% tuition and arrange an instalment to pay the balance.

Thanks dear.

Does the embassy use official rate to convert money claimed in account?

We can not see the future
No one can predict if a visa will be granted whatever the circumstances.
The only way to find out for sure is to apply.

Yea bro, but i'd like to know if anyone has tried partial payment (less than half) before visa application and if such a person succeeded.
I could grab some confidence you know.
Thanks sha

Hello guys, I've been seeing here the 'half fees payment' thing before visa application but i still need some clarifications. Please, how about if one pays £3k out of £10k and also shows enough money in parent's account statement to cover the remainder of the tuition + maintenance fee, will visa be denied such a person?
Please has anyone tried this kind of partial fee payment before and got his/her visa granted?
And also what rate does the embassy use in converting money claimed in an account? Official CBN rate or black market rate??

Please anyone with answers will be much appreciated.
@justwise
@larion

ps: I'm making a late application for May 2017 entry.

Thanks all

The time varies, but it was about a space of 2 - 3 months in general. A third friend just got his own yesterday and submitted around 2nd week of December, 2015.

I submitted mine on the 29th of December last Year. Yet to receive final decision but have been contacted once by a CO to request for an additional document.

So you will have to relax, that was how their status was until they received their approval mail. This 476 subclass visa is almost a sure banker if u meet the criteria.

Chai....I beseech you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, please listen to what Icon79 has said to you. Save your soul and those of other people who may be reading your posts. "There is a way that seem right to man, but the end thereof leads to destruction".

Why do people feel ashamed about masturbation?
Why does it feel so bad, weighs people down mentally and destroys their self esteem?
There is something inherently wrong with masturbation!

Being that you have been a 'born again' since 1987, I'm rather surprised to hear you ask for bible passages specifically mentioning 'masturbation' as a sin. Is masturbation not classified under lust and impurities? Will you ever be proud to tell God that you masturbated??
Don't be in a hurry to reply.......Think and ponder over these things.

Bro I have noticed that you are very very defensive

Get rid of that chip on your shoulder and stop assuming everyone is after the Igbos

Why will the British condemn their citizens when they have an institution that limits the excesses of human behavior. You claim to live in the UK, I am sure you are fully aware that UK politicians can not get away with a hundredth of what Nigerian politicians get away with

Your comparison is a bit off. The UK has centuries of ethos and they have built an institution that will not permit mass unlawful behavior

Obasanjo and Jonathan went to the UK during their tenure and said the same as Buhari- it is part of the Nigerian foreign policy

Obasanjo's statement was even worse. He advised the UK govt to deport all Nigerian asylum claimants

Have you read the speech? Point out the exact parts that you disagree with

I never laid any claim as to where i live so stop assuming and also I never talked about the British condemning their citizens. All I ask is that you mention to me any president who goes to Britain to condemn his country people, just one please.

So now Nigeria's foreign policy is about the president going abroad to spew trash about the citizens?
