Am really enjoying this thread. Two years ago who could have imagined such debate.
People used to be ashemed to expose their Tecno phones, but not anymore. Tecno has improved so much that their users can now proudly and boldly show of their phones. And one good thing about these new Tecno phones is the value one get at such rediclous price, I handled me kid sister's n7 last week and was astonished.

spyder880: Some of my contingent from the last duplex in Ebonyi state just landed in my area in Enugu. They will be joining the Enugu group and we all are planning to move very early tomorrow morning to PH. Action starts tomorrow on this site, (barring any last minute hiccups)
Ok oga, keep me posted on your progress, so that we can be exchanging ideas, I have two contruction sites going on in delta state currently. this my email adress ifypaul2012@yahoo.com. wish you all the best.

spyder880: You have a good point, PH is expensive in most things, from granite to sand and even the labour costs here na die! But I will be pushing the boundaries of focused spending with a deep knowledge about the safest ways to pay lower and get more for less. I will also be coming in with my team of workers from Enugu, and they must agree to work with me in PH with Enugu labour rates. I will build a 'batcher' for them to live on this site.
well done Oga, but before getting carried away buy your proposed project, have you realy carried out a proper survey of cost of materials and labour in the area? do you have an experience of contract administration in the Niger delta? have you considered the kind of relationship you are going to have with the host community? if not, you are in for a culture shock. Construction environment in Enugu is different from Niger delta, am telling you from my experience cos I just finnished casting the oversite concrete (ground floor concrete) of a block of flats at Osubi near warri this evening. what I encountered was hell to say the least, it's akin to operating in a jungle, thats the mentality of people from that region, so you better know what you are walking into for such a low sum of money, cos you go settle people tire. wishing you all the luck, cos you will need it.

Keep posting like a duffer!

I'm sure the unity schools exist in all the 36 states(including Northern states). Now imagine not admitting students from the North into unity schools in the South because they scored low in the exam - and the North retaliating by increasing the cut-off score for southerners to a score most of them can't get. And with that; you'll have southerners going to southern "unity schools" and northerners going to the northern ones. Don't you think that would defeat the purpose of the schools? Those schools are more of symbolic schools - not a do or die affair.

Stop thinking out of ya ar.se - and use your damn brain cells.
Shut up mr man, it is nobody's fault that your people are producing nit-wit childred.

This is someones dad and husband, and besides he is your president. Keep calling him names and continue to dwindle, while he continues to enjoy the best things of this life.

Most people who call GEJ names can never fly common first class till they die. You can never see any successful man calling GEJ clueless, it is mostly clueless, frustrated and confused souls who have no vision and who expect the president to doll out dollar for them. Most of them are graduates but they dont know their left from their right. That is why I call them GOATS
which first class? abi you are promoting the nonentities, person wey never smell economy class, I mean, some have not even seen the interior of an aircraft. anyway frustration na bad thing sha. Lol.

Lol, "if you were the president" well, you are not the president and will never be one because of your mindset, I even doubt if you can make a local Government chairman because you are an ingrate.

mr man, who gave you the right to insult the president of Nigeria and by extention Nigerians in general. GEJ may have his short commings just like every other human being, he makes mistakes like all of us, you may not be satisfied with his policies, you may be anoyed by the way he do things but that does not warrant your casting aspersions on his person, presently he remains the president of this country. who are you by the way? of what value have you been to humanity other than trash. Imagine a faceless nonentity castigating a man that has manage to become the president of the FRN. what was the level of achievement your father attained? can you tell us one member of your family or reletive that is known for anything? be it in politics, football, music , academics, public administration, spiritual leadership, just to mention but a few, yet instead of critisizing constructively, you keep insulting people that are better than you in every aspect. in your quiet moments do some soul sarching about yourself before you abuse others.

onomeasike: like the north or hate them, they ve brought down this govt(quoting chief ezeife-an igboman),the govt led by gej is alienated by gej because most northerners though wrong, believe he rigged the 2011 election, while they are trying to get over that, his govt increased the pump price of petrol price and the mischief-makers made a political kill out of.fast forward to 2013,the govt sent jets to drop bombs on their land! Those southerners who failed to understand fully the colossal error made by this govt will soon realise. It was in this same nigeria that mend took their struggle to atlas cove in lagos south-west and justified their attack in yorubaland and even called the bluff of yoruba leaders.Boko haram will take their fight to the next level and just like it was with mend attack,it will likely takeplace outside the north and the southerners saying and writing 'kill them all' will hear it.GEJ should't have taken the military option,he was warned enough.for God's sake, militants who took up arms against govt have been rewarded with billions of naira, how do you now say crime does not pay.Or as rightly advanced by northerners,if boko haram are ijaws, the president will not authorize airforce to bomb their base undecided
mr man shut up and make use of your brain, which south will they attack. just like MEND, the BH major advantage is to blend in with the local population and carry out their attacks from there. So for instance, how many community in the south east or south south speaks hausa language? MEND can operate up to atlas cove jetty because there are pockets of ijaw communities all along the south western coast line. any northerner that forments trouble in the east will be identified, isoleted and delt with within minutes. were will they hide? who will harbour them? or do you think everywere is Kano were you regularly kill your visitors and afterwards beat your chests claiming to be warriors. nobody buys your threat in the south because you can't do nothing, especially in the south east.

HNosegbe: You really had to quote me TWICE to make your ignorant comment, right?

It is people who make comments like yours that are most responsible for the problems we face. "Provided it is in the north east" can you imagine how stupidly selfish that statement is? What would you have said or done if you were an indigene of Borno?

You talk about "assisting JTF", in what way exactly? By coming out in public? What safeguards have the govt put in place to protect those who are courageous enough to say what they know?

By the way, have you forgotten what happened to the uncle of BH founder Mohammed Yusuf? For your information, he came out of hiding and met with former president Obasanjo. Do you know what happened to him? That's right, he was KILLED
I maintain my stance: Until the federal government begins to truly utilize more of intelligence and less of brute force, the war against Boko Haram will NEVER be won.

Take it to the bank.
you can go fuk yourself for all I care, it's already in the bank. groups like Boko haram can't survive without the local population behind them, take that also to the bank. let the war continue.

HNosegbe: I'm really worried with the recent turn of events. The potential loss of innocent civilian lives from military airstrikes and related "projections of hard power" may make Baga look like a carnival.

I fear that Goodluck Jonathan, in an attempt to avoid being seen as weak, may have bitten off more than he can chew.

Boko Haram is a fragmented, shadowy sect. Insurgents such as BH can NEVER be defeated in open, attritional warfare.

My view remains what it has always been: This security threat can only be curtailed with superior intelligence gathering, coupled with an intensive campaign to win hearts and minds which will involve a combination of witness protection (for BH members willing to defect and provide valuable information) to provision of emergency social services for affected communities, to investment in emergency public works programmes to create jobs for the unemployed, to the commitment of special funds for the restoration of Lake Chad.

The government must work to induce potential defectors to come forward with valuable information on who the backers and financiers of BH are, and in exchange such defectors can be offered amnesty as well as witness protection for them as well as their families.

By doing these, you can show the indigenes that you're really concerned about their welfare (thereby increasing government goodwill and reducing local sympathy for the BH cause).

But as long as Jonathan continues with this heavy-handed approach, I fear the war will continue for years to come.

P.S: Meanwhile, what is being done about the borders?
shut the fuk up. let the war continue forever provided it is in the north east, I don't have sympaty for the civilian population, Boko haram could'nt have survived for so long without their support, they should have done the right thing earlier by assisting JTF.

No, northern Nigeria is not viable for university business, the propretors will not have enough students, which means return on investment will be low because an average northern youth is either an almajiri or boko haram aspirant.
