I hate to comment on anything as controversial as religion. But I have patiently read through all the coments. I must state that am an Ibo and a christain, but that does nt mean that I have angst against muslims or any other person for that matter. 1. So many pple(especially christains) have said that it is the muslims; what proof do you have that it is the muslims? 2. The muslims claim that it is not necessarily about religion, that it has political undertone; the question is why does it have to be on the eve of chrismas, why can't the politicians do this on the eve of sallah or during the Jumat prayer? 3. One Igbo chap has to come up with karma being a b, itch; how sure is he that the Igbo's do not have more people in the casualty figure? 4. So many have been quoting both the quoran and the bible out of context; I wonder what they intend to achieve by doing that? My observation is that nobody is really addressing the main issues here, which are; 1. What steps do we take to stop a re-occurence of this endless circle of cannibalism? 2. If the governor (just like the president did in the october bombing issue) claims to know that it is his political opponent that is behind it, we all should pressure the govt to furnish us with facts? For instance a mass rally by both the christains and the muslims in several part of the country can go a long way in putting pressure on the govt. Even if it doesn't, at least our leaders will be more care in making baseless statement. If Nigerians keep quiet now and pretend that it is business as usual, then the circle must and will continue to repeat itself. It is Jos today, it may be Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Abia, Anambara, Ekiti, Oyo, Kaduna, Bauchi tomorrow. Let us stop bickering about being a muslim or christain on this forum. Moreover how many of you are truly devout muslims or christains. |
