The institution called marriage has been bastardized. The bible said that women should be help meet(abi na this type).

They got married about a year ago, and she got a 'juicy' job, some are advicing that the man should throw away his self respect and self worth and go to Rwanda to play house husband. Why did you guys not also advice that the lady in question should grow a di.ck and impregnate her husband.

If her career is more important than her marriage, by all means I will advice her to go. If making money, rather than raising a family is more important in her life, by all means she should board the next available flight to Rwanda.

If i where to be in the man's shoe (which I dont pray for) i will not uproot myself to go and play house husband for any woman. Call it male ego or whatever. He is earning a living here small or not, and they have been surviving on that. So if she thinks that because i supported her in getting ahead, that i will also support the idea of going back to semi-bachelorhood or playing house husband then one of us should really visit a shrink.

Some of the man's story may be true. But what am finding hard to believe is that the guy get common sense.

First you married a lady, later you started having problems with the lady and she barred you from coming to the family house in London. Next you found out that the reason for barring you to visit is because she has a live-in-lover at home.

Secondly, you married another lady and got separated from her (AKA divorce ) no reason was given, except that you guys are still friends and it was easy to go separate ways because there was no child involved. Then you lived as a bachelor for some time.

Finally when you were posted to Kenya, you decided to go back to your vomit wife, because you feel that she deserve the new status as the mother of your children.

Abegiii, the man just they waver like ship wey dey for hurricane. Since he knew that the wife is a trouble and she was bold to bring in another lover to live with her in their family house, is that not reason enough to divorce the woman.

Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Kenya who doubles as Ambassador to the Seychelles, Dr Chijioke Wigwe, has been recalled by the Federal Government.

He was recalled by the foreign ministry as it perfects plan for the envoy’s investigation for allegedly assaulting his wife, Tess Iyi.

Foreign ministry spokesman, Mr. Damian Agu, said the outgoing Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Odein Ajumogobia (SAN), has asked the top diplomat, who also represents Nigeria at the United Nations Environmental Programme and the UN Habitat in Nairobi, to return home.

“It is only when he is back that we can investigate him and know if the allegations were true or false,” Agu told THISDAY on telephone Monday.

On May 11, Wigwe’s wife, Tess Iyi, alleged that she was assaulted and injured by the diplomat and Kenyan police was said to have written to the Federal Government seeking waiver of diplomatic immunity for the ambassador to face trial in the country.

Images of Mrs. Wigwe’s battered face were displayed on Kenyan newspapers and circulated on the internet eliciting reactions from women organisations in the East African country, who asked for the envoy’s prosecution.

Mrs. Wigwe, a lawyer who holds dual British and Nigerian citizenships, had also made a written supplication to the Kenyan police asking that her husband be arrested for assaulting her, causing her serious bodily harm.

She explained that she decided to come out about her situation to show that domestic violence cuts across cultures, education and social standing.

"I cannot keep quiet. I have kept quiet long enough," Mrs. Wigwe said.

She also told the Nairobi Star she was rescued by her 20-year-old son and 23-year-old daughter on May 11, and rushed her, bleeding profusely, to the hospital.

She was admitted to the Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi, where she was operated on and discharged on Sunday, May 15. She also said her doctors had advised her to be careful as the injuries to her lower back might lead to paralysis.

Meanwhile, the Women Empowerment and Lagal Aid (WELA) has called on the Federal Government to immediately arrest and prosecute the embattled ambassador for allegedly beating his wife “ mercilessly causing injury on the woman.”

Almost 70 days after the new N7.65bn presidential jet, Falcon 7X, touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, from the manufacturer’s factory in France, Dassault Aviation, France European authorities have banned the jet from flying in Europe and other parts of the world over safety issues.


The ban, an Emergency Airworthiness Directive, which was issued on Thursday by the European Aviation Safety Agency, the agency that regulates Dassault as well as the European aviation industry, took immediate effect, starting from May 27.


The EASA’s grounding of the worldwide fleet of Dassault’s Falcon 7X executive jets came hours after one of the aircraft encountered an in-flight anomaly that could have caused the pilots to lose control.


The EASA directive, which was published on Thursday, said that the jet “experienced an uncontrolled pitch trim runaway during descent. The crew succeeded in recovering a stable situation and performed an uneventful landing.”


An analysis of the plane’s Digital Flight Data Recorder and Fault History Database confirmed the event, EASA said, but the cause of the pitch trim runaway couldn’t be explained.


“This condition, if it occurs again, could lead to the loss of control of the aeroplane,” the EASA notice said.


However, the Cologne, Germany-based safety agency said in its Emergency Airworthiness Directive that the decision to halt all flight operations of Dassault’s flagship jet came at the request of the Paris-based company, according to a Dow Jones report on Friday.


The plane was en route between Europe and Malaysia, Asia, with no passengers on board, Dassault spokesman Stephane Fort told Dow Jones Newswires by telephone.


The pilots managed to regain control of the aircraft and landed it safely in Malaysia, he said. Fort couldn’t say who owns the aircraft or who was operating it.


Fort said the decision to ground the aircraft was a precautionary measure.


Dassault has sent a team of technicians to Malaysia to try to identify the cause of the problem, he said, adding, “Our priority is the safety of our passengers and our aircraft.


The Falcon 7X was introduced in 2007 and is designed to fly 5,950 nautical miles with at least eight passengers. There are 112 of the aircraft in service.


“This airworthiness directive is considered to be an interim measure pending the outcome of the investigation currently carried out by the manufacturer,” EASA said.


The Falcon 7X has a sticker price of about $50m, depending on cabin features.


President Goodluck Jonathan had in the third week of March 2011, taken delivery of a Falcon 7X plane, shortly after it landed on the shores of the country from France.


The aircraft, which was manufactured by Dassault Aviation of France, cost the government $51m (about N7.65bn.)


The Federal Executive Council had on August 12, 2010 approved $102m for the purchase of two Falcon 7X and $53.3m for one Gulfstream G550 aircraft to beef up the presidential fleet.


The second Falcon 7X, it was learnt then, was expected to arrive in the country during the second quarter of this year.


In what is probably its first mission, the jet was said to have conveyed the wife of the President, Patience, to Sokoto during the third of week of March.


The two Falcon 7X aircraft are to be supplied by Messrs Dassault Aviation of France, while the Gulfstream G550 will come from Messrs Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation of the United States.

Tmoni, you don't need both signatures to withdraw money from a joint account, unless it is explicitly stated. I run a joint acct with my aged mum and am the only one who makes withdrawals from it.(i.e. only my signature on the cheque)

I have been reading different comments on this issue of speakership or nothing. I refused to make any comment, because i know quite well that at the end of the day the Igbo politicians will do themselves in. Am an igbo man (nwa afo nwujuru aran) and I as I believed before the election, I still believe now that JEG is not the best thing to have happened to Nigeria and the igbo.s in particular. Was it not only two days ago that the so called political leaders of the igbo's were threatening to leave pdp enmass. today they have accepted SGF, a position which JEG can just wake up from a bad dream and decide to fire the person.

And where do we get that idea from that the south easterner will be president come 2015. PDP have killed zoning, and I believe that it wasn't totally by chance that zoning was killed. If any igbo person comes up with the theory that "it's only fair to allow an igbo to be president and marginalisation bullshyte" the other groups in Nigeria will never listen to them.
Please brothers and sisters on this forum, believe it or not the igbo political leaders have sold their slot for the presidency come 2015 for a meal of pottage. GEJ is from the SS, and I find it hard to believe that Nigeria's political heavy weights will back the SE, who are cousins to the SS, come 2015 for the presidency.

Initially I thought this whole proposing to a girl with a ring is actually sacred as some people have said (and a tiny part of me still believe that). But I have seen certain things to make me believe that ring or no ring your woman will accept to marry you, no questions asked.

For those saying that a ring is sacred, what will you then say of a woman who punned her WEDDING RING cos she just wanted to get back at her husband for what he did.

In my own case I not was the cause of the break up, yet she refused to return my ring. And the funny thing about the other girls that didn't accept my proposal is that they are still seeing me and still having se.x with me, even when I have made it clear that refusal to accept my proposal means that the relationship is technically over.

I think I'm beginning to understand certain things. I have made about three proposals (without a ring) to three different ladies and yet they didn't accept my proposals. If I ask them what the problem is, they will say it's nothing.

But the problem with me is that, I once proposed to a lady with a ring and she accepted but we later didn't marry and she never returned my ring.

I just decided that my future wife will have to accept my proposal first and even at I will get the engagement ring when am buying the wedding ring. No more surprises.

Pls both parents and intending corp members should just decline when posted to any part of the country where they feel that there is volatile security issues. If this line of action is adopted, in time the government and its apologist who think that these killings are not worth being looked at critically will just get the message that they cannot force people to be used as human targets.

On the eve of the NASS election I made some theories (albeit wild guess) that it may neither be GEJ or Buhari's camp that were behind the series of killings witnessed in this country since last year. I recall that I said that the bombing of INEC's office in Suleja maybe to scare corpers away from participating in the election, and that if I'm a parent or have any of my siblings serving in any part of the North I will immediately call the person to start heading home. I also said that if per chance GEJ lost the election and the MEND unleash their anger by taking up arms that the massacre that will follow in the SS will make Odi seem to be a child's play. I never mentioned anything being done to anyone that will riot in the North ('cos it was obvious to anything discerning soul that the North must riot and kill people, without having the cabal behind it brought to book).

What is my point; it is simply that this incidence will continue to be recurring decimal in our polity until we learn to hold our leaders responsible.
How; civil disobedience (in this instance, corpers being asked to boycott the electoral proceedings) even before it has started. I still don’t understand how a corper will be used as an INEC ad hoc staff, when the authorities fully know that they will not provide adequate security. If you look closely non of the BIG men children who are currently serving (I know for sure that some of the children of the elite are serving) will be involved as INEC ad hoc staff.

Even GEJ said it that, no politician is worth dying for, what he fails to tell us is that Corpers being used as INEC staff are on their own.
Let parents recall their children from the North, sitting at your system and typing that God will punish those behind the killings is not the solution. If parents start recalling their wards who are sent to the North to serve, the FGN will get the message that we are tired of having our children die in the name of NYSC.

Hey guys, I do understand that life is hard over there. My point is still that a simple Yes or No could solve all this wahala. From most of the posts here it seems that the problem is trying to please others even when it is difficult for you to do so. Most of you will agree with me that the way some of you guys spend their life saving when on vacation in Naija is the cause of some the pestering.
Ok, am sorry for generalising or saying that the OP is making noise. But I still believe that as a human you cannot satisfy all people, with that in mind why not do what you can and refuse to do more.
Someone said that both of us may buy the same levi jeans but his will be better cos he visit some of the best shops over there. My question to him is; how is he sure that I don’t order my wears from abroad or even visit from time to time.
Please guys learn to give alms (or not give) without letting others know about it. My experience is that whether you help someone or not that person will still survive.
I live my life following the goals I have laid out for myself and not because some Uncles or aunties or relations want to compare me with my mates. I don’t give a damn about whatever standard/goals others have attained (afterall am not exposed to the same experience they have had).

Yes I don't beg them and truely I have no need to beg them. Like a popular saying goes, friends are a dime a dozen. Honestly I won't be surprised if some the guys posting here were in the habit of begging prior to living the country. Yes, things are bad in the country. Yes, people will beg you if they perceive you are better off. But please a simple yes or no will do the trick. I believe the OP already made up his mind on what to do before posting the topic, was there any need for him to feel justified by what other people have to say.

It's just that i feel pity for those disturbing them. Truth be said, most Naija guys abroad don't make much, and even the money they make goes into paying for utilities.

In Naija here I have seen guys make millions and use those millions to help the less privileged yet you will not hear anything about it.

If it is hard for you to help others no qualms, afterall it's your sweat. But please don't make noise about it as if every person that comes to you for help(genuine or otherwise) is less of a human being.

I thank God that I have not been in a condition/situation as to start seeking for help from others to the point of being a pest, whether they are in Naija or Abroad.

I have so many of my class mates in the secondary school(I dnt think I regard them as friends anyway) who live abroad(US, UK, Canada,etc) when these guys are in Naija they always stay close to me cos am a giver (and I thank God for that) and when we discuss about some of the pple we know that have traveled abroad who stopped communicating, you shld see these guys swearing that if God favour them and the get the opportunity to travel abroad they will never forget their friends (maybe these were lips service cos they know I have too much at stake in Nig as to bother thinking of going abroad to live/ or it was said out of ignorance of the living conditions abroad). But once they move abroad they will do exactly as those b4 them have done.
So my second year in the UNI, once I hear any of my "so called friends" have traveled out of the country I will be the one to severe contacts with them, pending when they get back to Naija either for visit or to stay put.
Surprisingly when they get back or about to come back you see them sending mail either on FB or Yahoo asking for my contacts.

@OP, it is unfortuante for you that you have only PEST as friends in Naija. @ the rest of the people living in the west there are so many people in Naija who don't give a shyte about the stipend you earn and call it money.

Let me ask; How many refugees aka immigrants abroad can confidently come back home to Naija and spend more than two months without getting desperate? Please understand that the fact you were "favored" to leave Naija for Europe or US does not qualify you to look down on those Unfortunate enof to ask for your help.

I served in the North, Bauchi precisely. But I always go back to the south or ABJ once I sign for my monthly clearance.

The truth is that most of the big men children that served with us never stayed back, so I got wise and joined them. Fvck NYSC at the end of the day they will still give you your certificate and throw you into the labour mkt  to go and join millions of other unemployed grads. While the children of thye rich and govt officials already have a job even before they graduate from school.

@OP, you said you are getting married in December and you are also telling us that the guy has not come to meet your parents. (I hope that is the scenario).

It seems to me that you are actually the one hurrying this guy into a marriage. Like someone already pointed out, you are the social director of the relationship.

My advice to you is that you shouldn't be desperate at 29, because that is what all this is about. You dated a guy for three years and you still can't learn him. He has a nonchalant attitude toward the relationship. (Please tell us if he is also nonchalant in other areas of his life or relationship with other people).

If you make the mistake of going into that marriage with the present scenario, you will so regret it. For the sake of love, a guy who wants to marry you, and is convinced that he wants to marry you should really be crazy about you. If you are forcing yourself on this guy, please stop it already.

@Elikiba, am deeply sorry about your friends. Bauchi is a well known state for religious riots. My advice to you and other corp members still in that state is to leave the state immediately a semblance of normalcy returns to the North.

Nigerians please learn to take your destiny in your hands. Govt is not ready to protect you, I was actually wondering why the Govt will place the corp members in such a precarious situation (that is, using them in election proceedings when they know fully well they are not going to provide security for them).

Corp members are easy targets in the North and other part of the country. I was actually a victim of violence in the said Bauchi state (that is a talk for another day).

I still maintain my stance on the issue of NYSC, either the scheme is scrapped or graduates should be allowed to serve in their respective states. Parents spend a lot of money training their children in school, only for some idiots to waste their lives all in the name of serving their FATHER LAND. It is not as if the govt is doing anything to improve the unemployment situation in the country.

Just before the elections commenced proper, a bomb detonated and killed some pple in Niger state. I made a postulation, that it may not be the fault of any of the two contenders, Buhari or JEG. Even if Buhari had won there will still have been serious issues of conflicts in the Niger Delta. The point is that untill Fedral power is made unattractive, and that is what a SNC will address, conflicts of this nature will continue. I make bold to say that Nigeria will not go to war again. But our leaders need to learn how to anticipate problems before they happen.

First and foremost I congratulate Goodluck Jonathan, for winning the election.
Nigerians have been making comments based on his victory, but what stands out in most of the comments is that Nigerians are still in the habit of PRAYING that the sitting President/Elected president will have the wisdom and grace to lift the people out of poverty and misery.
God gave us all the inherent will to act in our own self interest (in this case making our complaints/ desires heard by using our votes), but we choose to do one thing and ask God to come and correct our mistakes in the future.
I will only be surprised if GEJ will positively turn around the country, but if he tows the line of his party and brings a colossal damage on all our heads, that will never surprise me. So I pray he implements policies that will be in the interest of the masses, so as to prove those of us that are DOUBTING THOMASES wrong.

I'm pro BB, but if it is true that CPC is in an alliance talk with ACN, then it means only one thing; and that is, all the 'Zero tolerance for corruption' is only in theory.
