Op, u want the NAKKED truth? NO MOBILE PHONE CAN TAKE A PICTURE LIKE THAT. That photo was taken with a DSLR camera with big optics that can't fit into a mobile phone. The only phone that will take a picture close to that is the Nokia 808 purview. We all know how chunky that phone looks just to fit the mammoth lens in. If u don't care about its chunkiness and shitty software, then that's ur best bet. Other phones that can take pictures close to that are Nokia lumia 1020, iPhone 6 and xperia z2. These are the phones with the best camera.

sultaan: Opinions like this gives me the impression Nigeria really needs SAP. You have 1.5 to throw on a 10yr old car then resell in 2 years because it is old why not just buy a newer model that will last longer. The 10 yr old already has over 100k miles on it just get something with. 30 k miles 3 years old RX So which brand new SUV can someone buy for 1.5m? I'm waiting for an answer. Even in developed countries they buy used cars, most of the new car in developed countries are bought on finance. |

dejohnky: pls lemme ask a vital question; is it the paint that scratches itself or what? cos i dont understand. u av okada riders, keke napep, danfo drivers, truck pushers, cart pushers etc on the street who are liable to scratch or damage ur car at anytime!? no dis that every paint a painter uses on ur car as its code and standard. they will only do for u a job that u are willing to pay for. i dont believe their are shabby painters cos weda u like it dis guys are professionals in der field and dem go chop. pay correct money and i promise u u will get a good job, pay egun and u will get a shabby job. Bros, its a different thing for an okada or a different CSR to scratch u, but when ur car gets scratched by dust or ordinary wash cloths that is another thing entirely. Paint hobs in Nigeria are trash and that's a fact. Nobody will spend over 200k to respray a used car to factory specs. Though, a few companies do clean paint jobs in naija. I know a fella that sells new cars and sometimes they get dented on the way from the port. There's this company that do the paint job for him to factory spec and he spends between 300-400k for paint job alone. U will not find a tokunbo car at this shop, all are brand new. |

ZIMDRILL: my question is directed to the person who mentioned changing the o-ring This is what I hate about cartalk. Some so called pro think they know it all, and they are very quick to critisize others. Honda power steering whine at cold start doesn't necessarily mean the pump is bad, it can simply mean the o ring is bad and need to be replaced. This is even published in Honda bulletin. I use an accord I have encountered the same problem and a simple o ring change fixed it. I didn't even spend up to 500 naira. Try to make research before criticizing.

Bossman: Were any of these speed tests, specifically MTN, taken during the day? I use MTN and GLO when I visit, and seriously, they are almost non usable for data during the day. Just too damn slow...if one can connect at all. Between midnight and 5 am or so, the speed is ok. I am assuming it's still the same. This is in the Ogba area. My MTN is blazing fast in ogba/Ikeja. Day or night speed is the same. Might depend on the kind of phone u are using though, u have to be on H+ |

I got tired of looking for it even showing them pictures, most part dealers had no idea. The fabrication parts and labour isnt more than 1k. Besides "Cheapest Way To Deal With P0420?" is the thread's title. Go to any shop where they sell ford parts, tell them u want to buy spark plug adaptor for ford, the size is different from normal ones. Its a perfect fit for o2 sensor. |

fanex: if this car was imported from the USA it should sell from between 1m to 1.3m because of shipping. this however id from the UK with very high mileage. i suggest between 900k to 1.1 depending on engine condition. unless you are getting a very sweet deal i would not advise you to buy an European model. Bros, camry 2001 model is sold for between 1- 1.1M depending on trim. How can u ever think a 2002 Lexus rx300 SUV would sell for 1M considering this is the highest selling SUV in Nigeria at the moment. |
Car Talk › Re: Does Repainting Your Car Devalue It? by abatically(m): 10:10am On Jan 19, 2015 |
Kashif: Nobody says you cannot change your car's colour, but this is even more damning at resale. If a buyer sees a car has bee repainted, the seller has a lot of explanation and convincing to do. If your car has no scratches, dents, rusts, you are not going to repaint it (same colour).
Once a car has been repainted, buyers are more careful. Remember the question here bothers on resale. Its easier to sell a car with original factory paint, talking from experience. The thing is if u are spending N100,000 on paint job, then u can never expect it to be factory specs. If my car is not dented, I can decide to spend over 200k to repaint it to factory spec because I want to. But I can't spend that much to repaint it so I can SELL IT. If my intention is to sell it then I can get a N70,000 paint job done and will attract buyers. But the thing is after a few months, expect to see scratches. It is not financially wise to respray a used car to factory specs to attract buyers. This is why I say respraying a car devalues it because cars tat are put for sale will never be painted to factory spec. |

uboma: I do not agree with you. So one cannot decide to change the colour of his car as i am considering a change of colour myself? Yes someone can decide to change the color of his car, but can u spend over $2,000 to give ur car a paint job? Unless u can do that, then it will never be like first body. |

Abbeykord: I assume that MTN/Etisalat are delivering best speed than the so called 4G LTE in Nigeria. So why this obsessions about 4GLTE in Nigeria because I was made to understand that Spectranet/Swift/Smile offer the best speed...and that is what I'm actually after and require for my online gaming experience? For online gaming experience, forget Spectranet or u go cry. I've not used swift or smile but I hear good review about them. I have Spectranet and it sucks at online gaming, so much lag. I share the MTN on my phone and connect with my ps3 and voila, very smooth online gaming experience like never before. |

Car Talk › Re: Does Repainting Your Car Devalue It? by abatically(m): 10:11pm On Jan 18, 2015 |
Yes repainting a car in Nigeria devalues the car and I have my reasons.
Paint jobs carried out in Nigeria are trash, even the so called oven baking. It will cost thousands of dollar to get a car painted to factory specs. Who in Nigeria is willing to pay that much just to respray a car? I had a slight accident with my car last march, i fixed it and decided to oven bake it with the sane color it came with. After 8 months there were scratches everywhere. Even dust dey cause the car to scratch. It is no way near the paint job that came with the car. OEM paint job can last as long as 15 years whearas Nigerian oven baking will barely last 1 year. U can't blame them though, u get what u pay for. |

Car Talk › Re: Is This Car Worth N1.55 Million? See Pictures. by abatically(m): 8:28am On Jan 18, 2015 |
The mileage might be a little high, but it is expected for a 15 year old car. At least they didn't roll back the odometer and u know what u are buying. Majority of the tokunbo ones sold around already have their odometer rolled back. In fact most of the dealers I know don't put heir cars up for sale until they roll back their odometer and sold to unsuspecting buyers.
OP, u can lower the price if u have bargaining power. If u can do a vin check and it comes out clean buy it, it is a good car. The high mileage doesn't really matter especially if it was used mostly for highway driving. You can imagine a 1999 car having a mileage of less than 100k, how is that even possible? |

Manufacturers try to maintain a particular design language, there is nothing wrong with that. Ever wonder why the Iphone looks the same thing every year? When u pick up a Samsung phone, u don't need to look at the logo before u know its made by Samsung.
