Kingsasian:Good luck changing just the glass of a super amoled display. Even for some lcd displays, it is extremely difficult and risky changing just the digitizer without damaging the display. The amoled on the a20 is very fragile and glued to the glass. I'm not sure any engineer will offer to change just the glass. Even if u find anyone that would agree to do it, they are gonna tell u it's 50-50. That means the amoled might get damaged in the process of doing the job. Not advisable, just change the whole display. |
Tecno camon 16 premier is a tecno flagship phone. That doesn't mean it can be categorized as a flagship phone when discussing phones generally. But for tecno it's their flagship. Simple. |
LegalRambles:Don't sleep on it. At the moment trassion still has the largest market share in Nigeria but with the rate xiaomi is gaining grounds, I won't be surprised if they later take the market from trassion. Tecno and infinix are doing very well by doing aggressive marketing, using celebrities as ambassadors and empowering nigerians, sponsoring events, and actually having physical offices in Nigeria. That's a very good move. The moment xiaomi start doing this then it's game over because xiaomi definitely have better phones. Once xiaomi start making phones specifically for the african market they trassion will be kicked out. It's only a matter of time. |
CANDYDADDY:Add money buy better phone. Im pretty sure not all itel phones charge that slow. U bought what it money could afford. |
HONESTFACT101:If it work or normal day's routine requires u to be away from a power source for an extended period of time then 2,000mah is not enough even if u have 24 hrs power supply Not everyone likes to walk around with a charger or power bank. There is no mid range - high end android phones sold in the current world with less than 3,500mah battery (expect some special phones like the galaxy z flip and that's due to their form factor). Those phones are mostly sold in countries that have 24 hrs power supply and yet they don't put batteries that are less than 3,500mah |
Playermayweda:I respect xiaomi, but one ui any day for me. My A70 came with android 9 and it's now on 11, still very snappy |
Palmerbarry:I thought it's 25w
|
3,300mah is too small for this age na Bros. I don't think battery size is an issue. What worries me more is the rate at which phones charge these days. The vivo 1Q007 has a 120w charging capability for it's 4,000mah battery. 0-100 in 18 mins, that's crazy and can get the phone really hot up to the point of exploding while charging. Xiaomi also added 120w charging to their mi 10 ultra, but they decided to take the foot off the gas with the new mi 11 ultra by making it 67w. There is a reason samsung still sticks with 25w charging. Once bitten twice shy, the case or the note 7 is still fresh in our memory. |
SILENTandSMART2:That samsung makes displays for other oem's doesn't mean they must have the best display (even though samsung phones have been having the best displays for years). Sony makes camera sensors for many phones but sony phones don't always have the best camera (until the sony xperia pro but ridiculously expensive). Xiaomi used samsung's display and made it better. It has everything a samsung display has plus better peak brightness and dolby vision support and 480hz sampling rate. |
Meister:Samsung can afford to slow down innovation because they are already at the top. Of course they worked hard to get where they are and threw everything they had at it to get there. Back around 2010-2013 samsung where the king of innovations, trying new stuff, some worked, some were just gimmicks but they kept fishing out innovations after innovations. I could remember when they released the first galaxy note, it was so big and people made fun of them. Today the phones we have are bigger than that galaxy note. Oh and how can I forget the galaxy zoom, the phone with enoumous camera, I'm fact it was a camera with phone functionality. Samsung have done all the hard work and now they are just relaxing waiting to see what the oppositions bring. But they shouldn't relax too much, remember nokia and blackberry. Xiaomi on the other hand are trying to get to the top, so it is no surprise they try as much as possible to make their flagship phones to try to beat Samsung. At the moment no matter how much they try samsung will still sell more flagship phones but if they continue they will eventually catch up.

bmdmix3:Xiaomi make very good phones, the redmi note 10 series however have some design flaw and they break really easily. I think they got it wrong with the glass back and plastic frame on amoled thingy. Redmi note 9 and other xiaomi phones have better build. But this is not enough to not trust xiaomi. Iphone 6 had the bendgate issues and they survived it. Samsung has the infamous explosions on the note 7, they survived. I think xiaomi will get through this. But I got to admit though, If the redmi note 10 was any trassion product with such failed durability tests, the way xiaomi fans for dey make fun of them for this forum eh, no be today. |
Mustiboy:I guess it's a thing of personal presebse. I've used both and I prefer oneui, more matured and stable for me. |
SILENTandSMART2:Of course there is nothing this phone can do that samsung cannot do. But samsung is being conservative so they can have new things to show with upcoming phones. Or do u think apple can't make a phone with higher refresh rate? See how long it took them to add wireless charging and 5g, u think they couldn't add them early enough? |
Its no longer news that Huawei were gunning for the top of the smartphone food chain before the US placed a ban on then. Ever since they have left a hole which Xiaomi is trying to exploit. I'm not a Xiaomi fan, I just appreciate good phones and I think with the Mi 11 Ultra, Xiaomi has thrown everything they have. This isn't just trying to be a good phone, its trying to be the best phone money can buy. Its is prices similarly as the Samsung galaxy S11 ultra with similar specs, but its got even more. Although arguably the S11 ultra looks a bit better physically (which is subjective) but that's where it ends. The design reminds me of Samsung early days when they were trying too hard to impress and end up going too far with the design. The S21 ultra looks more matured, not many people would like the design of the Mi 11 Ultra. Plus its a finger print magnet, the S21 ultra on the other hand has a very beautiful matte finish that doesn't attract fingerprint. But the phone is bold and in ur face kind of. The huge camera module isn't just huge for nothing as it has a second screen embedded there. 1. Display: Samsung phones have been known to have the best displays on the market. Xiaomi might have just broken that with the Mi 11 ultra ironically using a Samsung made panel. Both phones have 6.8 inch amoled quadHD+ 120 HZ, Gorilla glass victus adaptive panels display. Wow that's much. But Xiaomi goes even further maxing out at 1,700 nits vs 1,500 nits of the S21 ultra making it the brightest phone display on the market. Its got a 480hz sample rate vs the 240 on the Samsung. It also displays 10 bits color vs Samsung's 8 bits. Plus the Xiaomi has 2 Amoled displays, there's another one at the back of the phone in the Camera module. This might look like a gimmick but it is something that could be a potential game changer. 2. Battery: Both phones come with 5,000 mah battery, but Xiaomi goes further. It comes with a 67w charger and its even included in the box. Samsung on the other hand charges at 25w and charger is not even included in the box. Samsung is trying to copy Apple and thank God Xiaomi includes a charger that is even way better than Samsung's. S21 Ultra charges from 0-10 in 70 mins, the Xiaomi takes 40 mins. Also while it takes 120 mins for the Samsung to wirelessly charge from 0-100, it takes 40 mins for Xiaomi, that's 3 times faster. Mhen XIAOMI IS EATING SAMSUNG FOR BREAKFAST. 3. Speakers, memory and speed: Both phones have stereo speakers, but Xiaomi is louder. Plus while Samsung's base memory configuration is 12/128gb, Xioami's base model is 8/256gb. Plus based on tests done by Mrwhostheboss, The Xiaomi is faster in every benchmark tests. Although u can't really see the difference in normal usage. 4. Camera: This is the area where Samsung normally win, well this year its no longer an easy win as it used to be. Mi 21 ultra has 3 cameras and the main camera's sensor is 20% larger than the Samsung's already very large sensor. This help's in taken better shots in very dark environment and also better cinematic video. While the S21 ultra's camera is still regarded as one of the best cameras on a phone, the Mi 21 ultra's camera trades blow with it. The slow motion videos is not only better but also twice as slow and all 3 lenses shoot 8k videos. The Ultrawide camera is also better. Samsung has better macro shots, but the Mi 21 ultra is currently the zoom champion with 120x scumbag zoom (even though anything above 30x zoom is somehow unsueful). But the wildcard here is Xiaomi allows the use of the 3 main cameras for selfies with the help of the second screen. In fact it looks like the reason the Mi 11 ultra exists is to beat the Galaxy s21 ultra. To continue what Huawei tried to do before the US ban. If Samsung doesn't buckle up Xiaomi might just over take them in the not too distant future. I still don't like MIUI though, I think Oneui is still more polished and matured while MIUI still looks childish targeted at younger people. Cynsee:Nope, xiaomi has a larger market share than oneplus. But oneplus are known to be the flagship killers. They make phone with flagship specs for half the price and their phones are always sold out on the first pre order. Xiaomi sell more phones but that's because oneplus only release 1 or 2 models a year while xiaomi release several models of phones. |
PAQ:U are forgetting this phone has 800 nits of peak brightness while mi note 10 lite has 430 nits, or are u gonna say who uses their phones in direct sunlight . Anyway when buying samsung phones u know ur paying for the brand name, they worked to get there. When xiaomi gets there prices will increase. Shebi oneplus have started selling their phones for close to $1,000. Meanwhile the mi note 10 lite is not a cheap phone per say, still sold for around 170k |
PrimadonnaO:90hz vs 60hz display Ip67 water resistance vs no ip rating Ois on camera vs no ois Telephoto lens vs none 800 nits peak brightness vs 600 5,000 mah battery vs 4,500 Are u still struggling to see the difference? Maybe u were expecting too many difference but phone makers don't do that anymore especially samsung. They maintain the same design language for like 3 yrs with a few upgrades. Same way galaxy s21 is not much difference from the s20. If u own an a71, u don't have to upgrade to a72, wait for a73. |
I watched the video and I still struggle to understand what the uplaoder means by saying 'could samsung be confused about this phone?'. It is clearly an upgrade from the A71, I don't know maybe the uplaoder expects a huge deviation from the design language or features. He even said oneui 3.1 is not so different from 2.5 which is very funny. Actually the difference is there but as usual, u don't expect a drastic deviation. Smartphones have advanced so much that newer models are not so different from the models they are replacing. It's the same with the galaxy s21 vs s20, or every iphone models. When u get a galaxy A70 series u know exactly what u are getting, samsung stick to the design language and fine tune it. It is one of the reasons lg failed. Lg doesn't know what they want. They will release a g model this year and throw in some features, then next year they will release another g model that is completely different from the previous model, they will ditch the features from the previous model (instead of improving on it) and throw in new features, then when it flops they will release another model with different features. Lg customers don't know what to expect from their next phone and one of the reasons people didn't take lg seriously. Samsung on the other hand have nailed it. Galaxy a72 is a upgrade over a71. Water resistance, better camera with ois and telephoto lens, 90 hz refresh rate and still maintaining the same design language That alone is enough generational upgrade. |
angelfallz:I clearly understand ur point and u made valid points. Just saying the speed u can get on 4g lte is limited. The fiber internet market however is an untapped market in Nigeria and if a foreign company comes in to tap it and make lots of money nigerians will start to beef them like they always do. Forget all these tizeti and co that claim to offer unlimited at 5-10 mbps, it a company can give up to 100mbps unlimited wired at considerable price I'm sure there will be a huge market for it. |
angelfallz:LOL, guy u funny sha, And u think boradband LTE can give u those speeds? The maximum speed of 4g is around 100mbs bro while LTE-A has a cap of around 300mbps. You and I know they are never going to get to their maximum capped speed. Which one be tbps wey u dey talk, on top wireless 4g networks lol. Even the highest plan on Xfinity is 1,000mbps which is not cheap and its wired fiber, not wireless like our mobile networks. If we are talking fiber that's a different thing entirely. |
angelfallz:Good, now with all the speeds shown on that website, which of them is measured in megabytes per second as people here like to do. According to the link u provided, Taiwan is the fastest with 85 mbps, (megabits per second). I got 79mbps from MTN last night and some people still think its not fast enough ![]() |
Stephenmoka4:The speed at which u download stuff online is not ur network speed . If everything remains normal a speed of 8mbps should be able to download a file at 1 MB per second. But that is not always the case as the speed of download can be affected by factors like computer hardware, server and bandwidth. For example let's say u have internet speed of 16mbps and want to download a 100mb file. Ideally u should be downloading at 2MBps so should take around 50 seconds to download a 100mb file. But that is not always the case. Let' say ur trying to download the same file from 2 websites A and B. If website A has enough bandwidth and less people trying to download the same file while website B has a lot of users trying to download the same file at once, thereby sharing the available bandwidth, then u cannot expect the same speed from both websites. U might download at 2MBps from website A and as low as 100KBps from website B with the same connection speed. This is why internet speed is measured in mbps and not MBps. And this is also why some websites offer paid services if u want to download at faster rate with specialized servers. Using megabytes per second to determine internet speed is like someone using time to calculate distance from point a to b. For example let's say the distance from lagos to onitsha is 450km, and someone else is saying distance from lagos to onitsha is 7 hours. It doesn't make sense because the time it would take to travel depends on factors like how fast the person is traveling and other factors like road condition, traffic and number of stops in between the journey. One person can do the journey in 7 hours while it might take another person 15 hours. |
constance500:Dude I know this and I think every tech person knows bytes is 8 times larger than bits. But internet speed is not measured in megabytes per seconds, it's always megabits per seconds. Speed of 25mbps is good enough internet speed for mobile LTE and good enough to stream 1080p seamlessly and can even stream 4k depending on the streaming source. |
constance500:What I'm saying is why do u guys like to emphasize on megabytes per second when the standard way or measuring internet speed is megabits per second?? I'll ask u a simple question, if u want to buy a broadband and u ask ur provider what's the speed of their network, do they tell u in megabytes per second or megabits per second? Did I tell u I don't know the difference between the 2? Allover the world internet speed is measured in megabits per second, only some ITK nairalanders will keep saying megabytes per second.
|
constance500:It's only on nairaland that people measure internet speed in megabytes per seconds. Show me any website or tech youtuber that measures speed in megabytes per seconds? Tired of repeating the same thing over and over. |
EasternActivist:Everyone has conencted and still not bad for a mobile LTE
|
fr3do:I was actually expecting this kind of comment. All these I too know people. The unit of internet speed is mbps but u guys try to force the use of MBps lol. Like show me any website or any tech people or youtubers that measure internet speed in MBps. But whenever we talk about internet speed on nairaland u guys will bring in MBps which is the rate at which a file is downloaded from the internet. This is of course determined by some factors like the amount of bandwidth the website ur trying to download from has. Technically a speed of 8mbps should be able to download a file at around 1MBps but that is not guaranteed because if the website has low bandwidth, a speed of 8mps can download at less than 500KBps. This is one of the reasons MBps is not used for measuring internet speed. If u think 79mbs is not fast enough for mobile LTE, then show me the average speeds of the fastest LTE's in the world. Even verizon wireless LTE average speed is around 36mbps.
|
wolfenstein:Bros, 79mbps on a wireless LTE is very very good. U can't get that speed on many networks in the world, and I mean in the world. Even Verizon 4g lte average speed is around 36 mbps. And the fastest mobile LTE in the uk is around 27mbps. So yes I dey happy for 79 mbps. Too bad I can't get it like that all the time, but if I can average 15-20 mbps then it's good enough.
|
Onyenna:Wow |
So this night MTN data stopped working for like an hour in my area. I tried everything it wasn't working until I switched back to 3g from 4g then it started working but slow. After like an hour I switched back to 4g and this is the speed I was getting.

Get urself an oppo reno 5f. U won't regret |
Randerl:I don't think u can find it at slot |
