I tnk wat we all fail to realise is dt our economy wil always be doomed if more people who wil substantially contribute to the domestic output are not given d opportunity to earn a degree. Scholarships in nigeria are not even adequate to fund all the exceptional students and those maintained by the government are bedevilled wt corruption. Furthermore, the average students shud nt be neglected since they form the bulk of our workforce. I will side wt free tertiary education in nigeria though. Permit me to make the ff recomendations.
1} entry exams into tertiary institutions shud be standardized to ensure dt resources are not wasted on those who are not up to the mettle
2} progressive monitoring and evaluation of academic standard shud be made a prerequisite for continuing wt d study{unilorin, fedpoly ede and other skuls snd students who do no meet their academic standard home in year one}
3} goverment shud reduce the cost of governance{ i dnt knw y we need a bicamera legislature & 40+ ministers to run a country the size of Texas. And what is the job of the ministers of state finance and education?}. This can be done by removing redundant posts and making salaries of politicians comparative to what is obtainable elsewhere.
4} we can fund free tetiary education. The calculation that it wil run into tens of trillion of naira is flawed. All we need to pay is the overhead costs. Plus we know that fixed cost per unit tends to reduce wt increase in output. By sanitizing our oil industry{build refineries, remove subsidies and let market forces regulate the price} we wil have more funds available. And lets improve on agric
5} lastly, please note that most developed economies are not based on oil but technologies. Thus , we shud focus on science & tech as well as marketable research{numerous fields exists. Bioscience, robotics, pharmaceuticals, aeronautics and automobile engineering as wel as electronics-funny tn is dt we cant do ds if we dnt spend on education}. Vision 202020 wil nt be actualizable wt an economy based on oil alone.

unilorin does not usually release their list until d last senate of the academic year which is sept 21 ds year. unless jamb releases d list unilaterally lyk last year, d list shud be released either last week in september or early october. will try to confirm if i can but only persons dt can say for are d VC, admin officer or d registrar. keep ur head up. it is well

as u will notice, i only gave d details of a particular faculty. i am not offering help or askin for money. am also nt seekin admission nor am i tryin to prove levels. i am a new grad of d faculty and one of its best students. as a scholar in one of its depts for 4 yrs, i got to knw many lecturers dia. i am just givin u info just like i was given 4 yrs ago.
nb: while i said i'm nt offerin help, i actually av helped others b4 and two out of d pple i tried to help are already on d list. d third was rejected because of d cutofd. dts hw i got to see it. u can take ur biliv and eat it. shikena.

MAN-CITY:OOSU: where the students purchase all expensive items nd live large bt are never interested in their primary assignment. LIVERPOOL= OAU-IFE: where the students are very much proud of the academic achievements of their grandfathers. MAN-U = UNIBEN: where students dont perform well in class except their final exams nd achieve good results. CHELSEA = UNILAG: where students fail nd put the blame on their VC, after which the govt will intervene 2 find a new VC 4 d skul every year. REAL-MADRID = AAU where students think they perform best and keep beefing the best students of other skuls. The criteria they use is - the number of students that graduate with 1st class. The fewer the 1st class students, the higher your chance of going high in the rating!

if dt were the case then unilorin shud be 1st. dnt tnk any oda univ produces less first class

2010: 17 (3rd highest)

i dont see any problem wt anti-gay law. it is a sin against God and can lead to further damnation of this world. of course, the senate shud pass the anti- smoking, anti-prostitution, anti-alcohol,anti-premarital sex laws too. i wont mind anti-lying,anti-gambling, anti-mastubation and anti-ponography laws too. all are frowned upon by God and can lead to his wrath. let d president sign all together and lets see who remains a free man. of course i will be in a cell too, though it wont be as plush as those of the president and our lawmakers. but i am still sure that most of those glorified men of God will be my cellmate or prison mate. and the world will be a better place.
