Thanks for the endorsement. I want to apologise for the inconveniences being experienced. The waiting time is still too long and I'm trying to ensure it gets shorter. I try to give an estimate of how long it'll take and sometimes it's off by a day or two. If you're patient you'll definitely get the data, even if it takes up to three days at times. Thank you for your patronage |

englishmart:May God bless you and supplement you in ways that you never dreamed of. I want to hug you but that would be weird. I pray we all learn from this and make the life of other people easier wherever we can, without being crippled by the fear of poverty. |

Krismas:Look, you make good points. Those things aren't entirely untrue. Unfortunately, the hasty conclusions are drawn generally for the sake of defending a position a person already takes, rather than a genuine investigation of the nuances of an idea. In order words, we're tribal by nature, and we defend the things we already care about by reducing them to it good and it bad. If only issues such as god and the nature of God could be easily resolved that way. Anyway, i doubt this is a good avenue to try to dive into any kind of constructive discussion, so best to leave well enough alone. I'm glad you have your opinions. I hope you're honest with yourself about how thoroughly you've challenged those opinions. And i hope to continue to challenge the opinions i have formed with the hope that it helps me to continue to evolve and understand the truth of what things are better |
Negroid001:No, i don't mean that. It's the way we've oversimplified it that's harmful. God controls all affairs. God also leaves us to determine our own fates. It's a Fascinating philosophically challenging concept; such a shame we boil it down to God bad , God don't bad. |
ruffhandu:Well, maybe you're right. I think you should do the math though so you know for sure that the actual number is 200, 300, 400 or more. Makes it easier to plan and it'll reduce arguments. Please make sure the kids are eating more fruits than ice-cream though. If you're spending 700k on healthy food for them, I'll not argue at all. But if it's chocolate and other highly processed food, I'll keep disturbing you on this page until you give them better diet. |
Anatolia:Thank you for making it so simple. Being a living breeding thing is what confirms you have a maker. Whether you like or hate your maker, that's your own problem. That you have a maker isn't in dispute... Unless you subscribe to someone telling you it makes more sense nature "made" you by trial and error. Yes, that's your brain working overtime right there |
Sapeleboy911:One day we need to do a townhall and dissect this God matter very well. The misconceptions are just too much For example, we keep conflating human behaviour for God's dictation. Humans are arsholes who fight for things they like (animate and inanimate) because we're territorial. We lie, cheat, and kill... It doesn't matter in whose name we're doing it. Seeing people who claim to be religious do those human things and concluding that religion encourages that is as incorrect as seeing a white man for the first, second, third, and fourth time, all while smoking cigarettes, then concluding that being white makes people smoke cigarettes. Correlation isn't causation. I don't mind people not believing in god, i just get irritated when it's based on things like... Why does god allow suffering? Really? You live on a planet that has oceans you can easily drown in, and volcanoes that naturally erupt, and you're asking why bad things happen to you? You live among other humans who regularly stab each other because someone took their girlfriend, and you still ask why god doesn't make you not suffer. The world is messy, grow up. Earthquakes happen on other uninhabited planets too so if it happens to you God isn't targeting you. Other animals get ganked by their own kind, so if your fellow man steals all the money in the economy and causes you to starve, god isn't out to get you |
ruffhandu:It's hard to give advice about these things cos there's always so much information missing or misunderstood, and the one giving advice probably needs advice themself. I just don't think things are now so expensive that even 200k shouldn't cover the usual household needs, outside school fees and clothes. I think it's important to know what the recurring expenses are and how much those cost, separate from additionals than pop up randomly. I wish you all the best. I hope you are able to figure it all out |
Time to save in crypto. Oh wait... That one sef get as hin be |
DevilsEqual:Can we stop talking about the man's intentions like we're angels, and start pointing at his actions. Afterall, The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Shey, renovating houses for billions is what is praiseworthy, abi it is haphazardly yanking out fuel subsidy and creating a panic on day 1? They keep doing nothing about the source of the problem, the political class and other powerful entities, but we're happy they're going after the little guys. I'm not saying people bypassing metres should not be prosecuted o, but before we carry drum and dance after them let's remember that the bulk of the problem of power supply in Nigeria has never been bypassed metres. Those that have stripped the system bare will never be prosecuted. |
minasu190:Well, if you go to the uk and wear your underwear in public you can anticipate what will happen, yeah. I assume they don't lag behind because they don't judge based on appearance ba? Even the most liberal states won't allow people to walk around naked. Why? Is it cos deep down we know the right thing, we just decide to act like arsholes, waving our pride flags up and down. She's not well dressed. If anyone's mother wore that outside, guys will catcall her and pinch her buttocks and I'm sure the son will just smile and say it's cool, yeah? |
Elsueno:You don't even have to be a smuggler or threaten someone with death. You can actually kill someone, claim you were standing your ground in states that that applies and you go home to bed. They do use technical bullshit to get out of convictions: O.J Simpson. Their government officials do openly steal, except they've made it legalised bribery. The senators openly do insider trading, a crime anyone else would be jailed for. The supreme court justices (Clarence Thomas) accept "legalised bribes" cos no one can police them except them. They are not in jail for any of these. Other citizens regularly go to jail for the same crimes. Heck, anyone else who incited a mob like Trump did would be counting their third year in jail already. Yes the President can have a terrorist released on U.S soil. The presidential pardon is absolute. Trump, again, pardoned his cronies for crimes they were convicted for. Roger Stone, Steve Bannon, and others. If their charge was terrorism, he would have pardoned them, and nobody would have stopped him. Heck, he'll probably pardon the Jan 6 rioters already convicted of domestic terrorism if he gets into office again in November. USA is Nigeria. We're just a third world country, that's the difference. |
MasterTeeUSA:USA and Nigeria are brothers and sisters. Our situations are similar, except that ours is worse. Same corrupt politicians. Same uniparty masquerading as two parties. Same stupid uniformed people voting purely along tribal lines. Same giant of whatever status that doesn't really hold water. Uk is much better. They just behave like they're a captured states sometimes, captured by the US that is. It's all about defense contractors and similar dark money if you ask me. Nonetheless, they're leagues ahead of either us or the USA in terms of the wellbeing of their average citizens |
mrvitalis:But they're both full of the same sleazebags, correct? |
ruffhandu:I won't say much. If truly you gave her a car and you're legging it, you know how things work. Don't let someone turn you into a mad man. If she dey absent for 2 months, you no go run the house? Wait till the month ends, go with her to buy all the items. Now you know how much. Monitor when the items are exhausted, now you know how often to replace each item. Wait till the car is empty, go and fill the tank... Now you know how much it costs. When it's low, note how long. Now you know how long it takes to empty the tank. Why are you filling the tank for her if she's driving the car and she has a business? I don't know. If someone wants to drive a car, they have to learn how to be responsible for it. Nobody prays for bad things to happen, but if you fall sick and you're in the hospital for months, will you also have to worry that your wife cannot reasonably run the home. She's a fully grown adult so she must start acting like it. Have a budget. If she doesn't contribute to making it, make it yourself. I think i already said too much |
Someone that is busy praising his wife, you nairalanders are here giving him advice he doesn't need |
ElSudani:We need to revisit this conversation in 4 months. |
T0BY:Ofcos it'll depend on where you live etc. Only few people will be lucky enough to fall into the category that can benefit from it. But, minus all those very important details, that's the best one for a slaveless life. You can even run your own business well in the morning, close it at 2pm or have someone run it for the rest of the day |
None of you is serious. So nobody can see that sweet 3pm to 11pm? You can do whatever with your day and you still get to sleep on your own bed. You pipu are not serious at all. 9 to 5 ko, 9 to 9 ni |
Banbanna:There's no apolitical solution to this problem, except military rule. Even that is just a different type of politics. We cannot keep complaining and expecting things to change. Getting in the mud with the corrupticians isn't the way. However, nothing will change without good people being there to make those changes. It's a crazy idea to sit down and try to build a movement from ground up. One that recruits people from various fields, not politicians. It sounds naive but, honestly, it's doable. Mexico did not elect it's first female president via another APC or PDP. They built a grassroots movement that overturned the establishment is about a decade. I dunno, I just think we'll just keep complaining until we one by one get tired then find opportunity to leave. How else do we do more than make noise. Even strike action is nothing but noise in the end. |
AmiableMosquito:Mine from 500 to 700. Savings is becoming a thing of the past. To Drive car sef, na with second thought. Man don become economist overnight. |
Banbanna:Don't lose hope. Wait, hope is already lost. We find it another time. For now, how do you feel about forming a political party? A zero tolerance party build from ground up |
gidiz:Come, let's start a grassroots movement that'll challenge the status quo |
DeLaRue:But why are you breaking my heart so early in the morning. Hmm? If you were in his shoes, would you still give billions in hajj subsidy? Would you still renovate a stupid lodge for 21 billion? Let's not even get into the stupid road they're building? Would that be part of your not-a-bad-leader strategy? Let's face facts. Inheriting a bad economy and being an evil wasteful corruptician are not mutually exclusive. Both thing can be true at the same time. |
Banbanna:Seems? It does not seem o. Should someone who constantly has hundreds of millions of naira in their various accounts UNDERSTAND that something is expensive? Unless it is their third helicopter they're buying, that's when they know things are hard. Then they steal more money to buy that. Someone whose wallet doesn't know the difference between tomato 2000 and tomato 4000. Even if tomato becomes 40000, do you expect them to know the difference. They don't even know, much less knowing and not caring (which they also suffer from). Someone who is living in a house where he doesn't pay rent and power is 24/7 because... Well, worst case he can afford solar to power everything. He wakes up and jumps in a tinted car worth hundreds of millions, in an estate where everybody owns private jets. Why are we guessing about whether they live in another world? |
abdsamad: |
dauntless15:It's not sinning though, is it? We run a dollar economy and the new price they're selling it for will be on par with the dollar amount they bought it for. |
HardMirror:1. Thanks for taking the time to explain your view 2. I'm not a Christian, I think I have a decent idea of God, and I can't speak to the 'nonsense jamboree' you referenced. 3. I don't think the meanings drawn from those bible passages is quite accurate, but I'm also not quite willing to go into a whole debate. You should take more time to look into them to ensure they mean what you think they mean. 4. It's okay to disagree on some things. You think the right thing is to withdraw his admission, I think it's not the best course of action. Regardless, I admire his courage and willingness to do the right thing, and I think we agree on that. So, we can just leave it like that. |
how so wrong
