AmericanIdiot:Umm, okay. I'm not sure we are on the same page about the thunder and the hell forever thing, but I hear you... cheating people is pretty deplorable. How is this related to the post though? You can speak more directly if there's something being implied here. |
HardMirror:Where do you stand on this? Do you think one ought to destroy one's life in the process of correcting every mistake? |
ATLANTIC01:Noble... But misguided. He deserves praise for taking a bold step in the direction of accountability. However, he didn't have to go that far. His conscience probably couldn't bear it so he did what he felt necessary. This is where seeking proper counsel from a good religious leader should have helped. Guess he didn't have that. |
natedensel:You'll learn. Nobody brings these skills from heaven and it comes easier to some than others. I am the same way and i find that the main reason why i don't bargain is because i don't have a good idea of how much the good actually costs. When I'm pricing buying an item I'm accustomed to I'm a lot more confident. Why not do this: 1. let someone give you a list of what basic items cost in the market. Try to get a reduction on the price. 2. Go to the market with the intent of comparing prices from two people per item. 3. Don't buy from the first person, just ask, go to the next seller and ask again. 4. It's okay, you can afford it, but have a little fun. It's the social interaction that's fun. Engage either of them about selling lower. If you can't allow yourself to feel relaxed, you'll just pay and run away. But if you can relax and aim to have fun with it, even if you don't get a discount, you'll still come away feeling a little confident. 5. Discard everything i just said because i actually don't know what I'm talking about |
gammarays:Umm, I'm not aware of that at all. I share from my phone to tab and it's never "zapped" any more than I expect |

Microbekorede:Please, don't borrow money. Allah does not burden us more than reasonable. Inshallah, the next year will be more favourable |
Jeffy1206:No problem. We can work out a system. You can pay for a higher volume in advance and decide to receive it every few days too |
And please, people, no need to fight. Let's fight the corrupt politicians that are making things hard for us instead |
Niok:I'm sorry, I just don't use whatsapp. I'm happy to do exchanges on here or via email even, just not whatsapp. I'm sure there are scammers on telegram, that has, however, not been my experience. The platform works pretty well. |
I tire for una scepticism. I'm most active on telegram and I'm not on WhatsApp at all. That's my page.

Fluffy but ultimately meaningless statements. We all know how to lie now. Is it today we're learning other people can lie and try to be clever at it. Even on the surface, the statement is pointless. Why are you distributing money to every man woman and child and elderly. To achieve what? Did they tell you that they don't know how to work to generate income? Did they tell you that's how they think economies should work. Will you collect tax from them after giving them 2500 each? Meaninglessness upon Meaninglessness. If you dig into it even more, it'll be even more meaningless. For him to mention that, he took time to think about what fluffy statement he can make to fake the appearance of wisdom, well before that appearance. Rubbishness upon Rubbishness |

onadana:Makes sense. Few years ago I would have assumed that to be true. But after like two years of washing the plates myself, cleaning the house myself, my wife still lounges on the chair while I mop. She still strolls by while I wash the plates she (not we) ate with. Handle it like a man. Is it to beat her or to talk to her. Na just the beating I no fit do. Yeah I wouldn't release a video like he did but I cannot say I've not been tempted. Yeah, I think most people will respond to seeing you do the work by stepping up and making sure they learn to, but if you meet the very worst ones... Just accept your fate. It's just another test in this life. |
I've already said we need to sit down and come up with a plan. Na so so complain we dey complain for nairaland. People are brilliant and have lots of ideas. Let's create a platform to start to discuss. Even as far as creating a whole new political movement if possible. Na like dis we go do till another evil sorcerer replaces the current ones. Then suffering continues. |
Why are we like this? Must everything be called Happy? Please change the title to "Sad Democracy Day". Thank you |
Namaster:I'm sure you're drawing from some experiences to come to this conclusion. However, it's not the same story coming from the other side of the table. Yes, it's true that medical personnel often contribute to the suffering of patients. Often. Too many times. Sometimes I want to slap some of my colleagues when they treat patients like trash. So, it's true that there are those. On the other hand, they generally don't start out that way. I think it's more a symptom of the failed healthcare system in general. The older colleagues started out all fired up, ready to run in but after years of doing everything to get nothing in return, they slow down till they become super complacent. The young ones just sort of mold into them. I've seen nurses go through this cycle within the space of 6 months. Super active and caring at first, then gradually less patient and even callous. Heck, even I fell into a bit of that during my internship. Especially in that labor ward. The environment can be so toxic. Another thing to note is that you cannot expect doctors and nurses to keep giving. These people earn less than a quarter of what they deserve at any level. Yet you drag them around as essential workers. They must do this, they must do that. Are you surprised they've all essentially left? Triple their salaries first and see if the problem doesn't automatically start to correct itself, up to 10% sef, without additional intervention. But we keep asking them to give more without willingness to give them any more in return. Honestly, most of them do just exactly what they're paid for. The 200k you're paying a doctor is only enough to buy a lethargic doctor who does the bare minimum and doesn't raise a finger to do anything more. If you want their compassion and passion, pay to unlock those features. Finally, it's not easy to run a hospital. I work in a Govt clinic where latex gloves regularly get exhausted. Tell me, when the next patient comes in vomiting and hot, am I wicked for telling them to go out and buy gloves before i touch the patient at all. Yes the patient is groaning and weak, but am I wicked for doing nothing? Should I buy the gloves for them? Should i rush in and treat with my bare hands only to become the next first ebola case on top of 200k I'm being paid? Me I'm still stupid enough to think i can manage to set a drip without gloves. Or i can keep some gloves somewhere from left overs. Or even buy myself so it's always available. That's me being stupid enough. In 5 years i may not be so stupid. And when my colleague walks in and says they'll do absolutely nothing until the gloves are provided, I absolutely don't blame them. Final final point, it's expensive to run a hospital. I was lucky enough to be involved in the administrative side of a specialist hospital and, honestly, it's hard. A patient comes in with a broken bleeding leg. You swoop in and do various tricks. Card of 5000 naira they've not opened. At the end of the magics, you've spent up to 10k on raw materials alone, no service fee. They still need surgery to fix the leg o. The family shows up, tell u stories, beg and beg, pay 2k and carry the man to traditional bone setters where they'll pay nothing less than 50k to 100k. The leg will be permanently deformed and they'll still come back after 1 year to ask for help. Question, who should cover for the extra 8k on resources alone when they came as emergency? Just 8k? Okay, how many 8k can you cover in a month. Mind you, we're only talking about raw materials, your workers effort is not being paid for in this o. How about when it's 20k, not 8k. I've had people get emergency surgeries done to save their lives. One year later, they still owe upwards of 300k. Who should cover that? It's not easy at all. Yes, there are faults at various levels but to put everything squarely on the staff is quite shortsighted. They'll all leave soon and the politicians that are spoiling everything won't care that our people are dying. Their families are already abroad. |
HilcomTech:Amen. And forgive all my sins. |
HilcomTech:Ok. Thank you very much sir. |
HilcomTech:Something will always be around the corner. Would it have been best to take such into consideration, yes. Does it make the man a fascist for not doing so, no. No it does not. Let's all be careful in labelling people. I'm a bigot and hater of Muslims. He's a terrorist and fascist.... Apparently. Like I said earlier. There isn't a lot more to say. You probably won't listen. I hope you reflect on your own words and stop throwing around accusations: ultimately contributing nothing better than what already was |
HilcomTech:If that's how you see it, brother, well I guess there isn't a lot to say in response. I still don't know what proves the claim of fascism, even going with what you just said. But what do I know about such big words, I guess. We all should be careful about our choice of words when we agree and when we disagree. That wasn't much of an enlightening disagreement from MuRIc, that's how I see it |
Westman001:We will work out the details first. You'll get an invitation when the time comes |
They're all mad. Stop defending ond because he's not the other. Nah how we go escape the perpetual nonsense we suppose dey seek. On that note, my elders, permit me to present my proposal for the creation of a new political movement. First rule of joining is to sign a binding document that you willingly accept up to the death penalty if found to be corrupt at any level. If you no wan join, go else where. We'll iron out the details and we'll bring in the best people. |
Naturalobserver:You didn't hear that I'm starting a political party ni? Come and join so we'll start laying the groundwork. |
Westman001:You too, come and sign up for our party. I'm thinking of calling it The Ax Party |
Emeskhalifa:We do. Come and join the party |
