Islam for Muslims / Re: COVID-19: Ruling On Offering Eid At Home During Pandemics by Abdulhakeem78(m): 8:40am On May 22, 2020
'EID PRAYERS LAWFUL AT HOME?

Yes; it is allowed and even encouraged for those who BECOME UNABLE to attend the 'Eid Prayer at the Prayer ground - such as in the present circumstance of the lockdown to control the spreading covid-19 - to observe the 'Eid Prayer at home. Those who have their families and other dependents with them would perform the 'Eid Prayer in congregation, and a person who finds himself alone will observe the Prayer wherever he may be.

This is the view of many jurists from the times of the companions - radiya Allahu anhum - and the Tabi'iun and their students in the subsequent generations.

Al-Imam al-Bukhaari (d. 256H) gave a Chapter heading under the Book of the 'Eid Prayers that: "When a person misses it, he should observe two Raka'ats. Likewise the women and those who may be in the homes and villages." Saheeh al-Bukhaari

While explaining this chapter heading, al--Hafidh Ibn Hajar (d.852H) said, "This chapter heading involves 2 rulings: Lawfulness of paying back the 'Eid Prayer when it is missed with the congregation whether due to some hardship or choice, and that it should be observed in 2 Raka'ats like its base-Prayer."

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbaliy (d. 795H) in Fath al-Baari (9/75) and Badruddeen al-'Ayni in 'Umdat al-Qaari (5/461) explained al-Imam al-Bukhaari's assertions similarly.

Kindly find below - by Allah's Will - some details regarding each of the points:

1. That it is lawful to observe the 'Eid Prayer when we become UNABLE to pray with the generality of the people is supported by the following:

a) Anas bin Malik - radiya Allahu anhu: If he misses the 'Eid Prayer with the Imam, he would gather his household and they'll observe the 'Eid Prayer in the manner the Imam would perform it - Reported by Ibn Abee Shaybah (2/551), al-Bayhaqiy (3/742) and others.

Graded authentic by Ibn Hajar in al-Fath (2/612), Shaykh Muhammad Bazmool in al-Bugyah (125), and others. Refer to: Ahkam al-'Eedayn by Shaykh Abu Abdillah al-Ballaasiy (386).

b) Abdullah bin Mas'ud - radiya Allahu anhu: He was asked about the one who misses the 'Eid Prayer and he explained how to pay it back.

Reported by Musannaf Abdur-Razaq (3/300), Al-Awsat Ibn al-Mundhir (4/336) and others.

Graded authentic by Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali in Fath al-Baari (9/77) and Ibn Hajar al-Asqalaani in Fath al-Baari (2/611).

c) 'Ataa bin Abee Rabaah was a Taabi'i: He answered that a person who misses the 'Eid Prayers with the Imam should "observe the 2 units of Prayer and give the Takbeers (as the Imam would do) ."

Reported by Ibn Abee Shaybah (2/551) graded authentic by Ibn Hajar in Fath al-Baari (2/613). Refer to: Ahkaam al-'Eedayn by Abu Abdillah al-Ballaasiy (386).

d)/ e) 'Amr bin al-Aswad al-'Ansi Abu 'Iyyad - a very learned Taabi'i - and Mujahid bin Jabr al-Makkiy another Taabi'i both absconded the cities, hiding away from Hajjaj bin Yusuf. On the day of 'Eid al-Fitr they both observed the 'Eid Prayer in their hiding.

Reported by Abdur-Razaq in Musannaf (3/301), Ibn Abee Shaybah (2/551) and others.

There are other reports from the Taabi'un but these should suffice.

Al-Imam Ash-Shafi"i, Abu Thawr and Ahmad among others are also of the view that whoever was unable to attend the 'Eid Prayer with the Imam would pay-back. Al-Imam Ash-Shafi"i would even dislike it that the person who misses the 'Eid Prayer doesn't pay-back. Al-Umm (2/518)

Al-Imam Suhnun bin Sa'id (d.240H) reported from al-Imam Malik that the Imam would encourage paying back 'Eid Prayers when we miss them and say, "When the person observes it, he should perform it as the Imam would do and make the Takbeers as his Takbeers too in the first and second (Raka'ats)." Al-Mudawwanah - Kitab as-Salat - Baab Salat al-'Eidayn). See also: Al-Awsat by Ibn al-Mundhir (4/335).

2. As for observing just the 2 units of the 'Eid Prayer in the same manner the Imam would observe it, this is based on the fact that the Prophet - sallallahu alayhi wasallam - didn't observe any 'Eid Prayer except that it was just 2 Raka'ats. Observing more or less would not count as paying back the same missed Prayer and the basic rule is that: Salaat is paid back as missed.

Al-Imam Abubakr Ibn al-Mundhir (d. 318H) explained, "The Messenger of Allah - sallallahu alayhi wasallam - established the 'Eid Prayer to be 2 units, so whoever is observing the 'Eid Prayer should perform it as the Prophet - sallallahu alayhi wasallam - had established. And it is not allowed to increase the number of (the units of) the Prayer without any proof regarding the person the 'Eid had missed." Al-Awsat (4/335).

The scholars explain further that it is inappropriate to Observe 4 units making deduction from the Jumu'ah Prayers because whoever misses Jumu'ah is rather observing Dhuhur and not paying back Salat al-Jumu'ah! See Fath al-Baari (2/611)

He is not serious, he is just saying what his Masters told him too. my dad, brothers and cousins prays in the masjid, and the masjid is literally inside our home. No one catches the coronavirus. I still don't know anyone or saw even a video of Covid19 patience in nigeria. Besides people dancing in isolation center. Coronavirus in Nigeria is a scam. We will go and pray on Eid ground. Let him sit on his thrones and leave us alone. At this junction even Buhari can't stop us praying Eid.

My friends, in the world we live in today we have to be SELF RELIANT. We should never put our trust or fate in the hands of the world. To many want to take advantage of us. Many are waiting for us to make a big slip. We must always look to ourselves and do what we can. I don’t believe anything any organization says. I don’t believe anything. This sometimes sounds like it was an evil plan. Came out of control and they had to say something that sounds good. This one world order formed by world organizations is not good for humanity. We don't need those mass global organizations anymore. Keep it nationwide only. Corruption is the most widely spread outbreak in the world. The Coronavirus is nothing compare to Corruptionvirus. No surprises there. All these ‘world’ organizations gain more power and most importantly money from the one world order. UN. Unesco, EU, Olympic Committee, AU, WHO etc etc.
thats why they hate people who think outside the box, corrupt monoliths. Well it seems pretty clear now that this virus is being use by the global elites to take back the control they have lost in the last few years.
Assalamu'alaykum warahmotulah sister,
I read your response as regard the message of the leader of Muslims in Nigeria. First, it is insulting and abusive for any Muslims to do such either publicly or privately. With this, I would like you apologise by employing this same medium you had used in making this mistake. Second, it is possible for someone not to have seen a Covid-19 patient due to the likely outcomes of stigmatisation which such a patient might face within his/her milieu. The officials are handling the cases with out most cautions, the novel virus is real and absolutely not a scam. As Muslims, knowledge is the first principle of our religion, let us always strive to apply it in all our actions. To pray this year Eid at home does not mean all other Eids would be said at home. The message is directed towards containing the virus and the Sultan as the leader of Muslims in Nigeria must also support the government in fighting this present world enemy. Please, sister, let's practice our Islam in line with what the Messenger of Allah gave and left us upon and not to be more Muslims than He did. May our Lord, Allaah accept our deeds, forgive our sins and overlook our shortcomings.

Health / A 100-year-old WWII Veteran Died Of Covid-19. by Abdulhakeem78(m): 10:11am On Apr 23, 2020
A 100-year-old WWII veteran died of Covid-19. His twin brother died 100 years earlier in the flu pandemic
By Giulia McDonnell Nieto del Rio, CNN Philip Kahn of Long Island died April 17. (CNN) A 100-year-old World War II veteran who died from Covid-19 lost a twin brother to the 1918 pandemic a century earlier, his grandson said.

Philip Kahn is the oldest veteran in Nassau County, New York, according to his family, and had been fearful of another pandemic happening in his lifetime, his grandson, Warren Zysman, told CNN. "It was something he brought up quite frequently," Zysman said. "I would have conversations with him, he would say to me, 'I told you history repeats itself, 100 years is not that long of a period of time .'"Kahn and his twin brother, Samuel, were born on December 5, 1919. His brother died weeks later, his grandson said.

The 1918 influenza pandemic, caused by a virus previously known as the "Spanish flu," killed and estimate of more than 50 million people globally and about 675,000 in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As of April 22, there are more than 46,000 Covid-19 deaths in the United States and about 19,000 deaths in New York State, according to Johns Hopkins University's tally.

Kahn was a sergeant in the US Army Air Force during WWII, Zysman said, and acted as an engineer and co-pilot, keeping war planes fueled. He received two Bronze Battle Stars for his service in WWII, his grandson said. After the war, he worked as an electrical foreman to help build the World Trade Center, Zysman said. In Long Island, Kahn lived on his own and walked one to two miles a day, Zysman said.

He was very aware of what was happening with coronavirus since he watched the news all the time, and in the last days before his death on April 17, Kahn experienced coughing and respiratory symptoms of the virus, his grandson said.
"He talked about his brother a lot in the last few days," Zysman said. The 100-year-old veteran received a coronavirus test, but his family did not get the results until after Kahn passed away. "He had always wanted a large military funeral, but we weren't able to provide that to him," Zysman said. The cemetery arranged for two people in the armed forces to perform a military ceremony, and a man whose father was a Marine during WWII played the bugle at Kahn's funeral from a distance, Kahn's grandson said.

"He volunteered because the Air Force protected the Marines by providing cover for them and he felt it was a honor to do this for my grandpa," Zysman said. Sampson Lester Friedman, Khan's friend who served with him during WWII in the Army Air Force, attended the funeral and gave a tribute to Kahn, which Zysman recorded on video and provided to CNN. "[There was] something about him that was very very special," Friedman said at the funeral. "On our airplane, he was an engineer, and he was the hardest working guy aboard that airplane ."Over the century that followed his brother's death, Kahn kept the memory of his brother alive.

"Pretty much every holiday, every event, he would also bring up his brother Samuel," Zysman said. "It clearly made a hole in his heart that he never got to meet his twin, and that his twin died a few weeks after birth."

Bukky244:

- So, I was correct that Mohammed taught his people to use camels urine.
- Why did the prophet revere the stone and kissed it?
- I did not attack him. When Aisha went to his House, she took her dolls. Showing clearly, she was but a child bride.
As regard of your first question, the Apostle of Allah ( May Allah be pleased with him) taught the Muslims of what is clean and dirty as far as Islam is concerned. One of them is that all animals that are eatable, their urine and faeces are not considered as something that is dirty as far as Islam is concerned, just like you can use black seeds, dates for medicine so does the urine of camels.
Second, the Apostle of Allah did that based on the message which he would have received from his Lord, my evidence on this is in Surat An-Najm where Allah testified that " Your companion ( Muhammad, May Allah blessings be upon him) has neither gone astray nor has erred. Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only Inspiration that is inspired". With this, his actions as you have rightly pointed were definitely from what he has been commanded to do and to follow examples of what Prophet Ibrahim and his son had done. Allah knows best!
Thirdly, you did Ma, by indirectly calling him a paedophilia because of the age of Our mother Aisha ( May Allah be pleased with her) and the truth about Islam is that age has nothing to do with marriage but maturity and puberty. That was the reason I mentioned Lina Medina that got pregnant at the age of 5 and a half.
We should just try do desist from provoking others by directly and indiindirectly mention things that are sensible to them and their religions. Stay home, stay safe Ma!

The global jihad espoused by Osama bin Laden and other contemporary extremists is clearly rooted in contemporary issues and interpretations of Islam. It owes little to the Wahhabi tradition, outside of the nineteenth-century incorporation of the teachings of Ibn Taymiyya and the Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah into the Wahhabi worldview as Wahhabism moved beyond the confines of Najd and into the broader Muslim world.
The differences between the worldviews of bin Laden and Ibn Abd al-Wahhab are numerous.
Bin Laden preaches jihad; Ibn Abd al-Wahhab preached monotheism.
Bin Laden preaches a global jihad of cosmic importance that recognizes no compromise; Ibn Abd al-Wahhab’s jihad was narrow in geographic focus, of localized importance, and had engagement in a treaty relationship between the fighting parties as a goal.
Bin Laden preaches war against Christians and Jews; Ibn Abd al-Wahhab called for treaty relationships with them.
Bin Laden’s jihad proclaims an ideology of the necessity of war in the face of unbelief; Ibn Abd al-Wahhab preached the benefits of peaceful coexistence, social order, and business relationships.
Bin Laden calls for the killing of all infidels and the destruction of their money and property; Ibn Abd al-Wahhab restricted killing and the destruction of property…
The militant Islam of Osama bin Laden does not have its origins in the teachings of Ibn Abd al-Wahhab and is not representative of Wahhabi Islam as it is practiced in contemporary Saudi Arabia, yet for the media it has come to define Wahabbi Islam in the contemporary era. However, “unrepresentative” bin Laden’s global jihad of Islam in general and Wahhabi Islam in particular, its prominence in headline news has taken Wahhabi Islam across the spectrum from revival and reform to global jihad.
Natana J. Delong-Bas,
There's nothing like Wahhabi Islam, the author of the aforesent piece needs to be schooled on some of the traditional understandings that Imam ibn Wahhab was trying to explain. I would have loved to analyse some of the things above but I need to continue with an important assignment at home. May be next time Insha Allah.

Bukky244:
Which is worse? Quran-virus or Corona-virus? For me, Quran-virus is worse. it can make a medical Doctor to advise patients to use camel urine to treat ailments. It can make a Scientist believe the earth is flat like an Arabian rug. It can make a man travel half way around the world to kiss and worship a black meteorite that fell from the sky. It can make a 52 year old man to marry a 7 year old child. It can make a man to receive revelation only when he wears a 7 year old girls dress. 90% of violence all over the world is linked to people trying to enforce the ideas in Quran-virus.

Let me start with this Ma, your submission above is displayed with impression to take lsam down. Before the advent of modern medicine, every society had ways of dealing with illness either by using correct or wrong avenue, Muslims weren't exempted from this just like fore fathers in Yorubaland were used to use the urine of horses to fight chronic fever. Let me use myself as an example, I used to experience very severe cold when I was 8 or 9, my grandma came from the village to meet me in this condition after medical attention wasn't successful. She went back to the village to got the original of this urine and was mixed with the seed of unreap pawpaw and within some period of time the cold reduced to bearest minimum and with time everything became the thing of a past. From the inception of humans, there have been one or two solutions to problems that faced human beings regarding their health status. The question is how many Muslims still use this to treat their ailments since science has improved some other things to be used. Prophetic medicines other this are very much available to be used.
Your submission regarding Hajj and perhaps Ummra shows you don't know the right things regarding the two. When one of the companions of the Prophet ( May Allah mercy be upon him) came to the black stone that you mentioned, he said, if not that I saw the Apostle of Allah that kissed you, you are nothing but a stone. The scholar of Islam brought many beneficial things from it. One of these is that , Muslims are not to worship any other things expect Allah, the most mighty. Another thing is that, if the companion has left the black stone, it has nothing to do with what is expected of a Muslim to do in Hajj and Ummra. Let me give an example that you would understand easily, a person that doesn't perform abulution before commencing his or her sollah has no sollah but a person can decide not to observe any additional prayer before the commencement of the compulsory prayer. Within this, people aren't going to Hajj and Ummra because of the black stone but to fulfil the commandment of Allah that has stipulated it. Again, you can go to Mecca without visiting the Prophet's mosque in Medina and someone's hajj is intact., insha Allah.
Ma, as for your last submission attacking the Apostle of Allah ( May Allah mercy be upon him). I know you would like reading many stuffs. Please, read about Lina Medina of Ticrapo of Peru and come back to argue on the age of Our mother Aysha ( May the blessings of Allah be upon her). Sorry for the long epistle.

if all muslims are like you, it would have been good.. you have my respect with this.. but to be sincere an average Muslim is violent... even here in southwest. It is just that the level of their violence here is in the barest level.. so bro, if indeed you are a Muslim mehn, you really changed my POV towards muslims..
I am from a Muslim background but I identify myself with christianity..although I'm not a practicing one... so I have knowledge of two Faiths..
The problem with Muslims in the world today is ignorant of the religion they are practising. Islam suits every situation only when you strictly adhere to its teaching. Bro, I am presently living in the north doing my post graduate program and anytime I remember how violent some northerners could be, I always pray to Allah to protect my family and myself. The truth is that many northerners are loyalists to their leaders and not the Islam. Northerners generally can be categorized into three Islamic sects, namely; the Sunnis, the Suffis and the Shi'as. All of them claim to be practising Islam as it had been practiced during the time of message of Allah ( May Allah mercy be upon him). So it takes some levels of knowledge to differentiate between what is truly Islam and what is not, any Muslims that practice pristine Islam will never be described as terrorists because we have stipulated rules and regulations that suit every situation.
Let me give an instance, just yesterday night, the Imam of my mosque sat with the elders and leaders of the mosque to tell them the important of social distancing and they concluded that we should stop praying the five daily prayers in congregations. But most of the mosques around are still observing their prayers in congregations due to their religious affiliation and utmost compliance with the directives of their sect leaders, Sir, I can mention a person for you here in the north, if the person says So and so people should converge at so and so place at this time, they would never mind what the government might do. Ignorance of what is required of someone has a Muslim is the main problem Islam as a religion is facing which is beyond observing prayers and bearing of Muslim names.
Like the author has rightly said, ignorance before death, it's a death itself.

Crime / Saudi Arabia Sentences Five To Death For Khashoggi Murder. by Abdulhakeem78(m): 9:26pm On Dec 23, 2019
CNN)Saudi Arabia has sentenced five people to death for the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi but cleared a former top adviser to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, a public prosecutor said Monday.

There was no evidence against Saud al-Qahtani, Saudi Deputy Public Prosecutor Shaalan al-Shaalan announced in a televised press conference Monday. A court also dismissed charges against Ahmed al-Assiri, a former deputy intelligence chief, and Mohammed al-Otaibi, Saudi's consul general in Istanbul when the murder took place, he said.
Al-Qahtani and al-Otaibi were sanctioned a year ago by the US Treasury for their alleged involvement in the murder.
Both al-Qahtani and al-Assiri were part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's inner circle and were relieved of their duties in the immediate aftermath of Khashoggi's killing in October 2018.
"Saud al-Qahtani was questioned by the public prosecution and was not charged because there was no evidence against him," al-Shaalan said.
Reading preliminary rulings for 11 people who have been investigated by Saudi Arabia, al-Shaalan said five others who took part in the murder had been sentenced to death. Another three people face a total of 24 years in prison for covering up the murder and violating regulations. He did not reveal any of their names.

Khashoggi -- a Washington Post columnist and royal insider-turned-critic -- was last seen entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, 2018.
He had expected to collect documents for his upcoming wedding but was instead killed and allegedly dismembered in the building. His remains are yet to be found.

Politics / Oshiomhole’s Enemies Take Aim by Abdulhakeem78(m): 10:36pm On Dec 22, 2019
Months of snapping at one another’s heels, in a bitter and brutal struggle for the administrative soul of the All Progressives Congress (APC), may soon give way to open, fierce and bloody war for the heart and body of the deeply fractious ruling party. Adams Oshiomhole is today at the heart of that bitter struggle; but it is hardly about him, notwithstanding his matchless knack for courting controversy and discord. Years before him, the former APC chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, emblematised all that was controversial and problematic about the party. Until he was overthrown in a spectacular ‘coup’ during the party’s 2018 national convention, which some National Executive Committee (NEC) members had strived to defer, Mr Odigie-Oyegun barely managed to leave office with any heels. Only the party’s first chairman, who occupied the office in interim capacity, the avuncular former Osun State governor Bisi Akande, escaped the bruising politics that threatens to undo the party.

So far, Mr Oshiomhole has survived two attempts at his chairmanship: one was premature and lacking in fire, and the other half-hearted, a little more determined, but still uncoordinated. His enemies may be dispirited, even scattered; but they are not vanquished. They will go at him hammer and tongs, will not relent, and may have even taken an oath to do him in no matter the cost. The first attempt at his leadership, indeed the foundation of the opposition to his reign, was triggered by his principled but perhaps undiplomatic opposition to the undemocratic suzerainty established by a few governors in their states, some of whom engaged in complex manipulations of both state party structures and party primaries.

Mr Oshiomhole may have successfully checkmated the manoeuvres of the said governors before the last general election, but it has made them his compulsive enemies. They are unlikely to relent. For even before the elections, the president was himself undecided who to support — the governors, some of whom were quite close to him, or the party, in line with party supremacy principles and the justness of the party leadership’s campaigns. Rather than abate, however, the opposition to the chairman has continued to mount, with the aggrieved president’s friends increasing in visibility and power under the presidency, and Mr Oshiomhole correspondingly reducing in influence in many ways. In the past two weeks, evidence of the growth of influence of Mr Oshiomhole’s enemies have been widespread. As they grow in power, they have become more emboldened to take on their chairman, determined to vaporise him.

At the moment, the struggle has been stalemated. Those in his corner, mainly states party chairmen, some governors, some party leaders, and a majority of the rank and file are determined to stick by him. But due probably to the politics of the 2023 general election, Mr Oshiomhole’s opponents have openly declared war, abandoned neutrality, and are bent on sinking or swimming with their cause. It has become almost an oath. The chairman should feel worried that open warfare has broken out rather quickly, more than three years before the next polls, giving enough time for his enemies to restock their armoury, completely win over the vacillating president, create a groundswell of opposition against him, chip away at the defences of and support for the party’s leadership, and possibly drive a wedge between the chairman and the president. It will be a miracle if they do not wear him down completely.

Mr Oshiomhole unfortunately is caught up in the Edo poll web. If he fails to win the state for his party next year, support for him within the party hierarchy, somewhat tenuous at the moment, will wear very thin. Meanwhile, he has boxed himself into a corner with his inability to overlook some of the undemocratic proclivities of his successor to the Edo stool, Godwin Obaseki. Having prompted Osagie Ize-Iyamu, PDP’s candidate in the last governorship poll, to defect to the APC just as Mr Obaseki is gearing up to contest the party’s nomination, Mr Oshiomhole may have nailed his colours to the mast and crossed the Rubicon at the same time. Seeing this, Mr Obaseki has increased the amperage of his opposition to the chairman and indicated that he would be willing to fight to the death. Neither combatant can now back down without losing face. Mr Obaseki is the underdog; if he loses, he will take it gamely. Mr Oshiomhole has more to lose. Should he lose, his demystification may snowball into something more than he can handle.

Indeed, the Edo governor is now comforted by the support of Mr Oshiomhole’s many influential enemies, men close to the presidency and eager to get their pound of flesh from a chairman who they deemed had cost them dearly. But there is no question in all this that the party chairman occupies the moral high ground in his effort to restore discipline and administrative order to the party. If the justness of a cause is enough to give victory, Mr Oshiomhole should run away with victory. But all he can hope for now, given the flightiness of the presidency and the way his enemies are encircling him, is that God will stir up the matter in his favour. That hope, as history attests, and as a battle weary man like him suspects, is often not forlorn. After all, so far, and despite the stalemate, he still has a slim edge over his enemies.

Politics / I’m Not At War With Oyetola, Says Aregbesola by Abdulhakeem78(m): 10:10pm On Dec 22, 2019
Bola Bamigbola, Osogbo

The Minister of Interior and former Governor of Osun State, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, on Friday dismissed insinuations that he was at war with his successor, Adegboyega Oyetola.Aregbesola spoke in Osogbo during his recognition as the Amirul Waziril-Muminina by the Chief Imam of Osogbo, Sheik Musa Animasahun, at the Osogbo Central Mosque.
Oyetola and many members of his cabinet were absent at the ceremony. There have also been insinuations that Oranmiyan, the political group of the ex governor , was not being given recognition in the present administration.

But Aregbesola, who spoke in Yoruba language while addressing the gathering, explained that Oyetola’s inability to attend the event was due to his trip to Saudi Arabia for Ummrah. He said his relationship with Oyetola remained very healthy. He added that the renovation of the Osogbo Central Mosque was funded by the Osun State Government with inputs of the present governor, who was then the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
