Your wife uses hijab because she likes it while the Muslim women use it because it has been mandated for them in all occasions. You and I understand the attitude of the users and with every mode of claiming standards, we understand when something is compulsory and when isn't. Using hijab has been made compulsory for every mature female in Islam and not in the case of your wife that does it when she feels like. No stand can be changed because we want others to like us!!!
