Saraki has enslaved and impoverished the people of kwara for so long. The state is like a desert land where everyone is looking for water to drink...
For Kwarans to be liberated, saraki and his dynasty must be jailed and eliminated from the surface. You are right....saraki is an ignorant spoiled rat of the Saraki dynasty......with that sulu gambari |

EgunMogaji: I didn't want to elaborate with my friend KolaShangone.
This is my first house in Nigeria and is the staging zone for future endeavors. If I imported concert mixers where would I store it? The builder felt he could be more efficient doing it manually based on where we were at, access and availability to labour. Since that is all on his side of the project then I had to yield to him. I don't believe that my project is suffering because they hand mixed the blinding. My job is to use knowledge learned on Nairaland to make sure that I'm seeing what I see on Spyder, Brabus, Aventures, etc high dollar projects and quickly ask questions.
Now on another note, Smiley001 has been onsite and can relate the deplorable road condition that I'm dealing with. We had to dump 19 tons of granite down the street and hand carry it to site because the roads were slippery.
I taught as much... i was hoping to see those machine so that we can learn from superior american project management. I'm proud of the crew yesterday |

EgunMogaji: I'm supplying materials but my builder thinks that plastic membrane cover is a waste since the site is on a hilly rocky outcrop.
He also thinks that we don't need to use wire mesh on the German floor. He's confident on the soil and the mix he's going to use.
What says yee of great knowledge? I laugh when people say polythene that will not account for 1% of the foundation sum is a waste of money....moisture will rise even if you build on a rock. sand closer to the grand will always get saturated during dry season which will make moisture rising inevitable. If you want to spread a large concrete mass over a large area with reasonable thickness you need reinforced the concrete so that it will not cracked when it expand under self weight. quantity of cement in the mix will not help that. building construction is a simple science, experience allows flexibility but the fundamentals are important. If I am to build that house, polythene will be a must and i will advice you to use wire mesh if you can afford it. |

babalose: how many mm is the best iron rod to use for decking? is decking one plank or half plank? You need a structural engineer to the do the structural design of the slab/decking for you. From his design result he will deduce the proper bar thickness ( mm) for the slab, he will also deduce the proper thickness for you. Guessing the thickness of steel to be used, such as Y12 or Y10 (12mm and 10mm of high yield bar ) may not be structurally okay for your work or economical for the work. |

written: thanks. Doesnt ur comment also translate as designing d right column/foundation wch are at d mercY of lintel, beams,d parapet, blockwall, slab, and roof ? Building can be design as frame or load bearing wall. When your building is framed the structural members are roof truss, roof beams/head beams, columns, floor slab ( for multiple floor building), ground floor horizontal tie ( if any, necessary if the foundation depth is considerable high for a pad footing/ isolated footing), foundation footing ( either deep or shallow foundation). For such building, block wall is just a partition wall. concrete fascia act with the beam, it tends to twist the beam thereby creating a twisting moment. such moment is cater for by providing adequate reinforcement detail during construction of head beam |

precast fascias are lighter than in-situ concrete fascia, while polystyrene is the lightest of the three. The major problem with precast is the molding and fixing ( care should be taken that adequate cement, light reinforcement and adequate curing is observed).
The major effect of concrete fascia on the building is torsion which can be cater for by having a nominally reinforced head beam, light concrete fascia of about 25-40mm section. |

400billionman: It is not my problem. It is ours. I dont stay in lekki.
The poster is asking why black people do not think and act straight. That picture is not showing a location needing volunteers planting trees. Why are people in government more concerned about enriching their pockets, building personal mansions at the expense of public works, environment, infrastructure and a saner society. ? My problem is with over generalization....black are not inferior to other people or race, we are coming up and with hard work we will get their. Politicians all over the world are corrupt but institutions are needed to check mate their activities. Those institutions are present in most western countries but are lacking in third world society which all AFRICA fall into. When we talk about government we over hyped the token we t from crude oil. how do you provide 100,000mw of electricity, pipe born water, cctv cameras, ivy league school, mass housing, central sewage system etc with mere $30billion of oil revenue, in a country where people rather pay 10% to pastors than to pay tax |

Eddygourdo: brother the Asian economy grew after realisations that they were behind the west, behind the world, they weren't very good in sports, they weren't excellent in warfare, they aren't models either, but they were very smart people capable of great things, they realised their inferiority to the west at the time but realised their advantages and thanks to Mao of China, systems were created to enable technological advancement, they stole ideas and made them theirs, the Chinese almost never invented much but they innovated technologies and from these created an enabling environment that ensure they became the production capital of the world, they tied their currency to the dollar and traded on that irrespective of their currency strength, nations must realise their weakness and raise strengths towards overcoming such weaknesses we live in the world where ideas are stolen....its wrong to assume that Asians are naturally intelligent, they achieved their present feet by hard work and taking responsibility rather than blame government for their predicament. who told you Asians are bad at sport? China won more medals in the last Olympic than the entire Africa contingent. There are more models in small south Korea ( 55million) than the the entire Nigeria ( 170million). Over generalization is bad, people learn to improve, saying blacks are created to be inferior to other race is stupid at best. |

Why is Africa not progressing, that is the topic ? Why are our neighborhoods like refuse dumps ? what have you to help such neighborhood ? Have take part in any voluntary work to plant trees, provide waste collector where people can dump their refuse, how many people have you enlighten personally? Nigeria is a third world that need her citizen to work harder than those of the developed world to attain the level of the industrialized world. |

If you ever see a black Angel run for your life! BTW the rest stuff you wrote up there are thrash. The problem we are conditioned to hate everything dark skin...Jesus was never the white man portrayed in most churches....he was some dude from middle east, with darker skin than most Caucasian today. Arab is not a race and Arab as a united group only existed during the Othman Turkish control of middle east. Religion was created in the first place to enslave the mind of the poor |

Eddygourdo: Bro look at all areas of comparative advantage we have and yet no development, tell me why the whole of black Africa is backward developmentally, tell me why despite our educational strides we have nothing to show for it, tell me why Africa is a failed continent, we aren't good people and that's the fact, our failures is not just a Nigerian problem but a problem inherent with any black community anywhere in the world, we are ghetto people, even in developed climes most ghetto communities are black dominated, If you don't criticise and point out failures you can never re-engineer anything for greatness. My two cents poverty in Africa is not limited to black Africa ( I consider it over generalization). Egypt a light skin Africa country is not performing better than Nigeria, Botswana ( black southern Africa country ) is doing better than Tunisia ( light skin north Africa nation). Algeria is a poorer country than say Angola despite her oil wealth. poverty is not a black Africa phenomenon alone my brother. You do have some valid point on how we haven't been able to take some advantage we have, like the abundant fossil fuel that has not been used to power our nation and head us towards industrialization, or abundant arable land that we haven't take advantage of to become net food exporters, or our iron ore deposit that we haven't translate into something huge. The solution to me is in education, colonization was a disaster for most Africa state, people with conflicting ideologies were lumped together for selfish European capitalism, institutions were not put in place and Africans were educated in a way that will make us mentally dependent on the west. Thanks to the internet age and the emergency of stronger Asia power house (China, Korea and japan), The initiative is gradually moving east and we cant afford to missed out. |

snakebeat: I thought among all the facia, precast is more flexible when it comes to shape & design, aren't the polystyrene factory made? Or can one specify his design/shape type? flexibility of precast is limited to technology available to make the mould, to lift the precast( weight is control which hamper flexibility). you can specify the shape and design to the company |
Politics › Re: Am Now Convinced God Is A White Man And Satan An African *picture Proof* by abdulwastecx(m): 7:50am On Sep 06, 2015 |
Eddygourdo: I totally agree with the op, the inferiority of the blacks that abound is exactly why some people on this thread didn't understand him, the black man is destined to be ruled and never to rule, he simply lacks the capacity, it's a fact that in a developed system in sane climes the black man can hold his head even higher than most Europeans as evidenced by our strides in Europe and America but we can never create such environment cos we don't have the capacity to do so , Africa is a failed continent, no successful government anywhere, the nations who have any form of working systems had a largely white presence not too long ago, even these systems are failing today since the black man took them over, there is no future with the black man, he is just a superstitious consumer who likes to dance and merry hoping tomorrow will take care of itself without making any plans for such tomorrow, Africa needs to be recolonized, so that it can develop, we will do better after such developments has come to fruition but before that we have to wallow in the filth called Africa and manage our divine inferiority to every other race I am really surprised by after years of education people can still come up with pseudo science racist rant about Africa and her people. Humans are the same biologically in terms of intellect and reasoning, culture may differs but human are of same specie. Majority of the world population lives in third world countries with conditions similar to ours. India has the world poorest people, most Asian countries are poor, so many south America countries are poor, so many eastern European countries are poor, non energy produce middle east/north Africa countries are poor. poverty is widespread in the world we live today because humans are greedy. United state, so called most advanced nation have 90% of her wealth in the hand of 5% of the population ( thanks to capitalism), people pay exorbitant taxes to fund war in middle east, most the middle class live the rat race( work for cooperation to pay mortgages, government taxes etc). Nigeria will be a great nation if we have more people that will think out of the box instead of castigating the system. we have arable land waiting for investment in commercialized agriculture, we have large population ready to consume any real estate, consumer goods manufacturing, steel, materials you can produce. Dangote is making billions by investing in the system instead of blaming his skin, geography for his predicaments |

snakebeat: Thanks a lot sir for the explanation. U're good. Maybe I didn't phrase it well, just wanted to know if there is concrete casting before using the polystyrene to cover it. When one sum the polystyrene cost + concrete casting, will there much difference in cost with the precast type... It will be a bit higher than that of the precast.... But the polystyrene is more flexible with shapes/design, faster and easier to installed than precast. |
