The internet I use is school internet. When I am home I use Airbnb internet. At the mall I use the mall internet when I am in the bus I use their wifi. GO Transit buses have free wifi. Once you enter the bus you can connect to their wifi

When I didn’t register a sim card, I couldn’t use Lyft or Uber. I was using Blue Line Taxi (very expensive).

To get on a Blue Line taxi you have to call the taxi company. I am always approaching the whites to help me make the call and they are always happy and willing to help. One even offer to pay for my ride I told him not to worry that I have the money.

The Nigerians guys I met here are acting like ‘Who is this one’ like they are not happy to see me in Canada.

I applied for a Canadian study permit in July and haven’t received an update yet from IRCC. My program start date at York University SCS is September 10, and I’m getting concerned about my options as well as securing my tuition deposit.

I contacted the school for clarification regarding deferrals and tuition policies, and their response is in the attached screenshot. The policy seems tricky: the second point requires submitting a deferral request before the program start date with a visa refusal letter. However, my application hasn't been refused, it's simply still processing with IRCC, so I can't cite a refusal.


Has anyone dealt with this at York SCS? What are my options here to avoid losing my fees? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I always tell people before you make any payment whether tuition deposit, tuition fees, accommodation or any kind of payment first ask them their refund policy and use ChatGPT to elaborate it for you.

In my understanding, this statement could mean that before you start date of the new program you have submitted a refund.

For example your program was to start in September 10th then you want to defer it to November 12th, the new program start date is now November 12th and you must submit your deferral before that date.

My first trip to Abj for biometric was by road then lodged in a hotel. To and fro including hotel and food was less than N100k

Due to my vehicle spoiled on the road both the one I went to Abuja with and the one I returned from Abj with all spoiled on the road kept us stranded.

My next travel was for medical I picked Lagos because QLife was cheaper. Going to Lagos and back ph I used flights plus hotel everything entered 300k plus.

The third trip was for submission of passport in Abj I used flight stayed in hotel everything was above N300k.

My flight to Canada I used wakanow and it was about N1.5m

The second trip to Lagos was when I wanted leaving for Canada I used green Africa flight was around N109k

If I add other expenses cause I bought new clothes, bags, made printings and photocopyings the money go long.

Yesterday I was at a Nigerian store. Everything you could buy in Nigeria was in that store. A small portion of Ogbono went for 5CAD. A loaf of bread for 3CAD. Indomie small pack was 1CAD.

Do you mean with all the money I spent in getting passport, traveling from PH to Abj and from PH to Lag, money on police certificate and the things I purchased or just the money for the study permit?

If it's for study permit only, I pay about N125k for medicals at QLife. paid 2k CAD for tuition deposit. Paid 30kCAD for first year tuition the show 108kCAD for POF. I paid about N3k at VFS office in Abj for SMS notification, I didn't pay for passport waybill since the place I did biometric was the same place I submitted my passport.

My program is Masters and two years
