Thank you so much,

Do I have to make any payment to Vfs Nigeria?
While you submiting ur application, u had paid it alongside the application fee. That 85$ u saw during the payment was the biometric fee.

u do not need to pay for biometric again. just go there with your
Passport, proof of payment receipt, BIL, biometric appointment letter

Good morning everyone. I have applied and gotten a LOA from a Private Uni in Canada. My confusion, however, is that they didn't ask for my WASSCE or any high school result. I also did not submit any letter of intent. They only requested for school transcripts. Although, I have been in communication with the official mail on their website, I am still feeling like the admission process is 'too fast' and I am wondering if my result or letter of intent are just not needed.

I am about to pay my tuition deposit through the link in my LOA (PAYMYTUITION), but I am also trying to be careful.

Are my worries valid or it is just Naija mentality that is messing with me?
I applied to a school in Ontario in less than 48hrs I got an offer.

I have gotten 10 admission offers from schools in Canada.

Some sent conditional offer letters asking me to meet those conditions before issuing final unconditional offer letter.

Some issued unconditional offer letter direct.

It's a private university so what do you expect? They need money so the would careless about your academic qualifications.

Please make sure you collect PAL/TAL from them o.

Also make sure the school is DLI before you pay any money o.

My sponsor is my brother-in-law, who is a Canadian citizen and is legally employed in Canada. he has already funded the GiC account and student chequing which I opened in my name with 50million, I have gotten his sponsorship letter, employment letter, their marriage certificate to show he is legally married to my sister, but the case is that he didn't want to present his bank statement instead he said he will give me T1 General, Can this T1 General serve as sponsor's bank statement of account? Will IRCC accept it?

He also visited Nigeria several years ago, and we took family and personal photographs together. I plan to include these pictures as supporting evidence to demonstrate our genuine family relationship and closeness.

Thanks for the clarification, @JMG12. We have decided to proceed with Study Permits for the kids. However, we have a few questions regarding the documentation for minors:

Details of Intended Study in Canada: Since minors don't need a Letter of Acceptance (LOA), what should they input in this section? Should I list a generic "Public School Board" in the city where they will be studying, or leave it blank/write "To be determined upon arrival"?

Employment/Education History: For the children's "Current Activity/Employment" section,we will list their current school in Nigeria.

Supporting Documents: we have requested Letters of Recommendation from their current Nigerian schools (Elementary and High School). Are there any other specific documents required from their current schools—such as transcripts, report cards, or "To Whom It May Concern" letters—to strengthen the application?

we would appreciate any insights from those who have successfully processed Study Permits for minors from Nigeria.
If you can, get the bold documents.

Thank you. Are you familiar with all finance solutions like Raenest (formely Geegpay) that remote workers use to receive USD or EUR salary and also offer virtual USD card services for online payments?

If for example, I have my savings in USD on such platforms, are their bank statements acceptable for POF?
As long as the money is legit you are good to go.

That’s why you should email the admission office before applying. Some Canadian school accept an English Proficiency Letter from your Nigerian university, and that can be enough for the Canadian university.

Many schools have a condition stating that if you do not have IELTS, you can provide proof that your previous education was taught in English. So always confirm directly with the school before spending money on IELTS or the application process
I am aware of this information. Some schools accept WASSCE. The school I am going, I sent them WASSCE they rejected it. Some schools like the University of Nagara Falls wave English Test for Nigerians.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by AbelAbdul: 4:22pm On May 07
The study permit processing time for Nigeria has been reduced from 8 weeks to 5 weeks.

@ amnotapervert what's your take on that?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by AbelAbdul: 4:18pm On May 07
amnotapervert:
IELTS — Academic or General? Where did you register in Lagos? Any prep tips? you do not need for student visa
WES — How long did yours actually take? Any wahala with Nigerian universities sending transcripts? you do not need WES evaluation for student visa
University application — How did you handle the statement of purpose? References? when you are applying for admission you will write it you are thinking so much
Student visa — What did your proof of funds look like? Any refusals or issues? apply for a school you can afford
Travel and arrival — First weeks in Canada, what do you wish you knew? if you keep worrying about this you will never leave nigeria
Settling in — SIN, bank account, accommodation — how did you sort these out? get your visa first you will worry about this later just apply for a school you can afford

If you overthink the process, you will always feel overwhelmed. You need to take things one step at a time.

Yes, it’s good to think about settling in and everything else, but first you need to focus on getting admission and making sure you can afford your fees before even applying for a visa.

So take it one step at a time. FYI, most university portals for the September 2027 intake have already closed or are about to close. If you keep overthinking, you won’t move forward and you’ll only fill your heart with worry.

Right now, your main focus should be getting admission into a school you can afford. That is the first step.

If you try to focus on everything at once, you will get nowhere.

Two universities I know that are among the cheapest for international students in Canada are Brandon University and Memorial University of Newfoundland. Check if their portals are still open, get your BSc transcript ready, review the requirements for a course you like, and apply.
Some of the schools I applied to in Canada requested for IELTS. even in the visa application it is asked.

Hi everyone, new to this thread. Please bear with me.

I'm a working professional in Lagos, currently in the tech industry. I've been seriously planning to relocate to Canada through the student route — targeting a Masters programme for September 2027 intake. I've done some research but honestly the whole process feels overwhelming and I'd love to hear from people who have actually gone through it successfully.

Specifically looking for real-world guidance on:

IELTS — Academic or General? Where did you register in Lagos? Any prep tips? Watch YT videos
WES — How long did yours actually take? Any wahala with Nigerian universities sending transcripts? My transcript took less than two weeks. That's because I sorted.
University application — How did you handle the statement of purpose? References? You should know your reason of choosing the school, the course, the country, your goal. So you should know what to write. As for ref, your boss in your office can do that. Mine they requested for two ref either Academic(ur school) or from workplace.
Student visa — What did your proof of funds look like? Any refusals or issues? My POF is more than the estimated funds for the years I will stay in Canada. This gives an edge. If it will cost you $20k to stay and study in Canada till you graduate, try and show VO $30k as POF
Travel and arrival — First weeks in Canada, what do you wish you knew? I will be here in Oct to answer this part
Settling in — SIN, bank account, accommodation — how did you sort these out? Use FB market place to sort for accommodation and to be on a safer side contact ur school they will link u will partners or on-campus accommodation. Do not pay any agent to get you a place o. Dont pay if u have not verify the house. As for Bank, depending on ur school. the school always link new students to a dept or indivuals to assist them get their banks and sim cards setup.

I'm fully self-funded so financing isn't the issue. Just want to understand the realistic timeline and avoid the common mistakes people make.
If you've been through this process successfully — or even if you're currently in it — please share your experience. I'll be very grateful.

Thank you.

In the last three days I haven't had good night rests due to persistent and uncontrollable itching on my skin.

Though, right from time I've always had itches from time to time, but not as severe as this one currently.

These few days have been hell for me, as I can hardly sleep at night.

Over the years, I used to take a particular drug for Filariasis. It's a tiny drug that is white in color and has the exact size of a Piriton tablet. I would take only two of it for three or so months. But since I left home, I haven't seen where I can go to get those drugs. At my former place of residence, I used to go to a Primary Health care centre to take it. The drugs weren't even allowed to be taken home, you have to swallow it right there. And you must not eat before going to take it. You go in the mornings, take it on an empty stomach and wait till 1pm before you eat. It's being over five years since I relocated to a new city and I don't know where I can get the drugs. The drug is Free, but you will have to pay for a Card there.

I don't bathe with Rain Water or boil water to bath during the harmattan season, to avoid the itching.

My arms, armpits, tommy, behind my neck, scrotum and pubic region itch. When I scratch, It get swollen a bit, then the swell disappears after a few minutes, sometimes I injure myself when I'm scratching. The painful part is it itches me even to my anus. Inside my anus, I have scratched and scratched and the place has become painful. I have to be extremely careful whenever I use the restroom and need to wash my nyash.

This has caused me a lot of discomfort. I'm really depressed. The fact that I'm going through a lot now, makes the whole thing really tormenting. I've always prayed that God should keep my health, so I don't get bedfasted for any reason, because if I'm unable to go to work and provide for myself, nobody will. I'm all I've got.

I really need your inputs here, my brothers and sisters. Health is wealth honestly.

Mods, please help move this to front page. I'm losing it already. It's frustrating.
90% of the commentors here would say HIV. just watch.

I had skin infection which lasted for months. I spent more than 200k on drugs and test. I posted it here last year and a lot of them were shouting HIV.

someone here said i should be eating garlic i did but no way. I saw a post on TikTok where someone had that same skin disease and he was told to mix bitter leaf and one 'drygin' like that to drink. I have forgotten the name of the gin when i remember i will post.

Na so i buy that dry-gin and bitter leaf drank for two says since then no more itching and the rashes were gone.
maasoap:
Something as important as this that really worked for you, you can't remember the name. You people are something else
I can't remember the name because I do not intend to have the disease again. Secondly I have short memories o. Sorry. I will try and go to that place I bought to ask.
