Really an interesting Topic. House rent generally in Lagos has gone up. I doubt it if you r going to get room and parlour for 150k at Sangotedo or Igbo Efon. Minimum you can get a miniflat in some part of Lagos is in the region of 250 300k, except you have a good landlord who doesn't necessary live on the proceed of the house rent. In some areas you can't get a miniflat for nothing less than 500 600k. If you earn 100k a month, that's like 3months salary. In a nutshell, don't burden yourself with an extreme or outrageous house rent. Other bills such as utility, school fee, tfare, cable subscription, voice & data subscription, dependant billing gets their cut at the end of the month.

Mine smell like a burning rubber lets say 1.hr or more after turning it on. When i turn off for about 30mins. It goes away. What could be the issue

This same thing happened to my cousin this month. He gets a bill of 3000_3500 monthly and in February 2020 he got 17000naira 800kwh. Baba never know where to start and how to dey pay the bill.

I guess their gimmicks has come back to hunt them.

What I am about to share here is 100% true. You never can trust how discreet this pages are, so I had to create a new moniker lol...

I had already concluded plans to get a fairly used Nigerian Lexus. I got a seemingly good deal on jiji so last Friday I traveled to obiaruku to seal the deal.

Everything had gone on as planned, very great guy, I paid, he handed over all relevant documents and I headed straight to bact to Asaba.

At about 7pm, I was doing a final check on the documents so I sent my wife to the car, this lady returned back with a big black envelope directly behind the driver's seat.When we opened it, it was filled with Indian hemp. I mean close to 500grammes, I was in utter shock. I quickly called the seller and cautioned him seriously.

I had gone through over 15 police check posts, how on earth would I have explained that the stuff wasn't mine.

Please folks, we've got to be very careful. Very very careful. May God not allow us to answer questions about someone else's indiscretion.

Report the case to Jiji. So they can alert other buyers to check properly.

You guys are funny. I won't state my earnings here but trust me oga, 270k in a middle class settlement in Lagos will only get you a one room self-contain.

In my current location, that money is what I paid as agency/agreement and caution fee. No point stating the actual annual rent.

I have been reading comments since the subject topic was uploaded. I want to believe most of this guys saying the rent is too much live in Ibadan or the most extreme part of Lagos, or maybe they don't pay rent at all.

Paying above 25% of ur salary on rent is considered as living above means

I agree with not paying over the board for an apartment but if you live and work in Lagos. Believe me this rules don't apply in most cases.

If you work in Ajah for instance with a salary of 130k. Believe me you cannot get a RP for less than 300k_400k in that area. You can only pay less in areas like Igando and Ikotun. Then created another problem for yourself in terms of transportation cost and Health.

You spend longer hours and traffic, you wake up by 5am to get to your work place. Person go just die early.

House rent is generally expensive in Lagos but with your salary, it's a fair deal. I got married earning less than that. I was on 114k montly. My house rent was 250k per annum, Even had a baby.
Plus my woman was without a job.

Cultivate a savings habit, cut unnecessary bills and You will be fine. Do note that you need to look for other streams of incoming or probably get another job that pays much better. The larger the family the more your responsibility and expenses.

A friend of mine earns about 125k and pays 350k per annum for a one bedroom self contain in Ajah.

Thats like 3months salary.

It is much no doubt..But you cant get a nice apartment (self con) in ajah below that price. yes there are some lucky lads that pays 250_300 but honestly the % is low.

The same 350k can get him a two or three bedroom in some areas in the mainland.

Cost, Comfort, Convenience, Ease to your work place is key in getting an apartment.

You all have spoken well. But honestly the rent in Lagos is on the High side. When it comes to renting a house, your comfort should be number1 priority, when taking a Job, your basic needs should of paramount importance(transport,savings,feeding and accomodation).

You can rent an apartment for that amount but you need to consider your other budgets (Transport, Feeding and Maybe dependant).

Try consider an apartment of 200k.

I av a Business Admin Degree, I work with an IT firm (Network Operations to be precise)..I wanna take up a professional course to boost myself cos i feel less fulfilled either. I am looking at ITIL or CISA, dont know the one to go for. Any advice for me..Thanks..

I admire your courage..My lecturer once told me carry overs werent meant for lecturers,They were meant for students..Regret mails aint meant not for employers but for dose searching for jobs..I have had my fair share of regret mails but what really hurt d most is being dropped after interviews. Its better to fail early(test) in d recruitment process dan to fail later stages(interview) of d process. Cos dat my brother kills morale. I remembered being dropped by KPMG after PI. I was already ecstatic about d prospect of working with dem b4 it all went down d drain. Regret Mail should therefore not stop us from standing up, tho its a huge set back..Nothing great was ever done without much enduring..If i tell u say e easy, my brother na set up. Practice GMAT questions and any maths Q and A..it helps alot. God help us all..dont feel blue about it..some have longer list of regret mails dan you do..#Dont Give Up..
