My Mom have warned me if I continue, I might experience same.

I think this is a bit harsh. Everyone knows how difficult it is to hold government leaders accountable in this country. I take it you're from the South West, don't the leaders there steal, who has been held accountable? Ondo State also derives 13% from oil and gas income, what is the situation of Ondo State? The only institution that seems to be at the forefront of prosecuting thieving governors is the EFCC a federal controlled body. The government have abandoned the people they are meant to protect from greedy leaders.
Also, the 13% is not enough to combat the massive pollution that the oil and gas industry has caused in the Niger Delta. Osinbajo went to oloibiri and launched a 30 billion dollar initiative to clean up that area what has been done about it today? Is it the state government that would generate 30billion dollars from 13% derivation to clean up the place?

The exploitation of the resources in the Niger Delta is a Federal government operation, the clean up should be a federal government operation and the development of that region must be overseen and ensured by the federal government.

The region has made great sacrifices for Nigeria and I fear that when the oil is no more in demand and the people are still suffering and the land polluted , ungrateful Nigerians, in typically selfish fashion will say : after all they gave them 13%
