My question is; how easy is it for me to self-study for these exams? I’m still in Nigeria though

In the quest to update my information on my application page, i must have mistakenly submitted my application. Note that I haven’t even aced my IELTS exam as I need to do so inorder to get ITA. Is there a way I can find my application or be able to edit it when i need to do so?

Yes. You’re not expected to mail/call them till it’s after 28 days. Bear in mind that it’s coronavirus that’s affecting them. I requested on the 7th, got my acknowledgment mail since Aug 17 and I haven’t still gotten any feedback yet.

I recieved an acknowledgement mail on Sept 10 after I applied for my IELTS remark with BC late last month. It stated that they started processing on Sept 4, but I haven't heard anything since then. It'll be 21days tomorrow.

Please does it usually take this long to complete? Do I wait for the specified 28days before escalating?

If you are not happy with your IELTS score, you can apply for an Enquiry on Results Service (EOR) through the IELTS Administrator at the British Council office in charge of your test.

Under the IELTS policy, you can apply for an Enquiry on Results service (EOR) within 6 weeks from your test date. The cost is NGN15,000 by Bank transfer. You will also need to download the form here https://www.britishcouncil.org.ng/sites/default/files/eor-form_as_atjan2019.pdf and submit the form via email.



Please initiate a bank transfer to the account details stated below:

In the remark/comment field on the payment platform, enter the candidate name.

Please send the following to examsnigeria@ng.britishcouncil.org immediately after payment:

Location of test
The outcome will normally be available within 2 to 21 days, depending on several factors including the number of sections requested for remark. If you receive no response after 28 days, please contact the British Council office nearest to you.

If your score increases after the EOR, you will be required to return your old Test Report Form and a new one will be issued. Also, the EOR cost will be refunded, therefore, keep your payment receipt with care as this is required to give refund.

If your score remains the same, you will receive an email informing you of the outcome.

From my experience, i think you are good to go with your practice score range. Just make sure you’re simulating strict exam conditions. For reading, try and finish everything in 45 mins so that you get used to the timing.

Hi Fam, for those that have scored clb 9 or 10 in IELTS reading and listening. Do you consistently have that score why practicing? I have been preparing for the test and my score range is been between 35-37 for both modules. Although I occasionally fall short of clb 9 in listening i.e score 33 or 34 sometimes. Am I good to writing at this level? I am an accompanying spouse and clb 9 in all modules is my target.

Also, I am not so big about morals. To me, nigeria has no morals, not even respect. Afterall the same ones who champion respect, would deride an old man who has no money and worship a wealthy young boy. However, if you lived in Nigeria, you should know when Nigerians speak of morals, it connotes religion and family. Like kids being submissive to their parent's will, without negotiations, even if it means pretending. And the state not handicapping you on how to raise your kids. Generally, nigerian morals is on not being sexually pervasive or lewd in public(whatever you do in secret is fine by Nigerian rules lol) and family culture.

In other news, HR at work (a Nigerian by the way, nice lady) today called me aside to advise me against using strong perfumes. I'm like, I didn't even spray much today, I can hardly perceive it on my body. She says noo, people here can have allergies, some offices don't even allow staff to wear scents. I'm shook.

It snowed for the first time (I think) in Toronto today. It was light, but quite cold.

Second, to those post-AOR awaiting PPR, please check your emails even as you read this script. Golden email can come at anytime like play. Only two nights ago I was so depressed at the thought of CIC, I ate only once, had a sleepless night, woke up yesterday expressing my frustration in group chats early morning until 9.05am and from nowhere, golden email came in at 9.06am. There is hope.

Full meaning of BCS is British Computer Society.

Well...this was included in one of the mails sent to me by CES. I'm not sure the 'British Computer Society' on this list is the same as our BCS IT
