Education / Re: As a Nigerian, can I pass the IELTS exam without preparing by abiolert(m): 9:07am On Aug 23, 2020
kode12:

Your response to the question posed, does not quite show your ability to comprehend the English Language (no offense), which is one component IELTS exam aims to test. OP, Nigeria is an English-speaking country, I agree, however, when you listen to some "graduates" speak or worse still write, you'd realize fighting for the removal of such language exams might be a lost cause. I've seen people who've taken the IELTS up to three times and still failed. I went through a couple of mock tests in the early hours of the morning I was meant to take the exams and had an 8.5, so its definitely possible.
Is it everyone in Native English speaking countries that can read and write?
My choice of English to respond to this topic was actually a mix of formal and informal approach. which was to create humor and at the same time add a touch of Nigerian style of writing to drive, home my point. For you to conclude that I can't comprehend English very well is up to you. I still stand on what I said earlier, IELT is Neo Racism in the making and I will never advice any one to write the exam.
If I decide to write this exam I will will score above what you scored.

[quote author=LordIsaac post=93100136]In my opinion, they are not testing only your ability to use the English language but to use it exactly as they do. This is why you need to prepare and know what they really want. [/quote
Oga even English speakers are sometimes not as fluent as some Nigerians. Its just exploitation and superiority agenda they are trying to promote over us. When I was asked to present it and I said I won't present it as a criteria, I was surprised I was still offered the admission without it. So guys wise up IELT is a big scam.
Education / Re: As a Nigerian, can I pass the IELTS exam without preparing by abiolert(m): 10:51am On Aug 22, 2020
Oga for me its an emphatic no. Its just quite unfortunate that Nigeria has been reduced to a state were you are now forced to write exams that is of no value to us, just because one is desperate to leave this country.
Let me tell you what I did when I was asked to present TOEFL or IELT , as criteria for admission in a school abroad, I bluntly told them I won't write that rubbish because am an English speaking country, whose first degree was with English. At the end, I was offered the admission . but trust me, I refused to attend the school.

To be honest and candid, Buhari's presidency is lenient with the state governors most especially the opposition party. This is rare during the administration of Obasanjo and Jonathan.

How can elected legislators of the ruling party be prevented from being sworn in by the Governor for more than a year because of the paranoia of impeachment which the governor has no evidence to prove.

Let's call a spade a spade, Obaseki took his luck too far by this act.
Am sure you are not from Edo state but if you are , As an Edo man that I am, I say you have spoken well.

Kpele that you are not feeling fine, hope you have taking drugs? Back to the issue, are you a registered voter in Edo state, if yes, you just have one vote. If not then don't give obaseki false hope just like you gave to Atiku . Obaseki will lose to Izeiyamu period.

You are obviously pained by the successes Obaseki has garnered lately, especially the expedioustious manner NYSC responded by correcting the error on his discharge certificate. Obaseki is soaring higher by the day.

If your own understanding of betrayal is encouraging godfatherism, then I pity your small brain. Edo no be Lagos. Otooge in Edo
I actually decided before not to respond to your childish attitude by referring to your self as having small brain as if you are a doctor with microscope, you can hide under the guise of nairaland to insult your father I don't care , but if it was a one on one discussion, I would have dealt with you.

I was in Edo for 19years and i know how PDP milked the state dry before Oshiomole the creator of modern Edo State came into power. Infact the Oba allowances and salaries was not spared during PDP. I wished Obaseki joined a different party, we all know Edo PDP and the integrity he claimed to have will forever be questioned. People need to know that Obaseki is yet to match the developmental strides of Oshiomole, I wish them good luck.
Well said.

Those of you who are in APC are mere babies when it comes to politics. You think politics is all about capturing the government seat and lying to the masses that they are better off with nothing tangible to show for it.
PDP is master of the game anytime any day. Can you see how a wrong and selfish move by Oshiomhole suddenly make you guys opposition overnight?

One thing my books and experience has taught me is the fact that for there to be an equilibrium, no political party should hold on to power for ever there must be room for others to lead. So enjoy your new title briefly because come September its APC all the way.

Okharedia Ihimekpen has always been a sellout. He lies for a living and cannot prove anything he says. He is a well known ally of OSHIOMOLE.

I can categorically tell nairalanders and Nigerians that obaseki didn't even need to pay anybody for the ticket and he didn't pay anybody.
He paid and is still paying, is it not PDP again. Share the money.
